Welcome back!

(Dear greetings cards manufacturers: 'Baby's First Christmas' does NOT necessarily have to include Baby being liberally sprinkled with glitter from your shoddily-made merchandise.

Except that, as I'm rapidly discovering, it does.

Lazer that was such a helpful post - hope you've got a docs appointment sorted Splendide.

MrsB where is home now? Any chance you could move back to Gloucestershire? Does your DH see what a cow she is being? She sounds like a nightmare Sad

YellowWellies · 22/12/2014 10:51

Bump some wind is likely to be normal as everything heals. As for the projectile voms that could just be normal reflux. Discomfort after feeds might indicate a sore throat from the reflux or it might be trapped wind. The fact she sleeps so well makes me think the latter and there's probably no need to up her meds but go to the docs / call her paed if you are worried.

mrsb87 · 22/12/2014 11:13

Yep he knows what a nightmare she is but she has bouts of depression so it's difficult to work around. At the moment we can't move because of dh's gardening business. I really wish he didn't have the business. Trouble is if he gave it up for me I'd feel awful because it's a family business from his dad. Can't win!

Captainmcgraw · 22/12/2014 12:52

Just wanted to reiterate everyone else Splendide and say medication really does help. I was so reluctant to take medication last year when I was depressed but I eventually did and it was the best thing I could have done. As other posters have said, it doesn't make everything better but it gets you to a point where you can be rational again and start doing other things to make yourself better. I did have 3-4 weeks of side effects first though so you would need to be prepared for really accepting help during that period - and mix feeding if necessary. After you've taken those first few steps, eg talking to GP, then things will get better for you gradually, I'm quite sure.

wondermoose13 · 22/12/2014 14:41

Oh mrsb i thoroughly sympathise my mil is an absolute nightmare! After my polite request for salted crisps, dh gets an email "xmas food menu for her to approve!" Apparently i have tinned fruit to look forward to for xmas day pudding :( i dont think she appreciates how much of a trek it is to theirs now theyve moved to the middle of nowhere and how much baby stuff we need to take. Shes now getting stroppy because we want to leave early on sat am to meet some friends who are over from australia (a 2 hrs drive from mil's)
Ive no idea how im going to cope with her for 4 days! Especially when hellchild other grandchild will be there and getting all the attention despite being an absolute nightmare .. i forsee a lot of moaning on here!....providing they have internet?!

splendide · 22/12/2014 15:09

What side effects Captain?

FATEdestiny · 22/12/2014 15:15

We stopped going to other people's for Christmas after the first couple with children. It is just too much hard work to go elsewhere with young children.

Everyone comes to us now. Million times easier.

Good to hear from you splendide. How are you doing today?

splendide · 22/12/2014 15:25

I'm ok. Got a HV coming over at 4 to speak to me. Still feel pretty low but I accept that's a lot to do with chemistry. Anyway this wont last forever will it? I just need to get through these awful weeks and out the other side.

wondermoose13 · 22/12/2014 15:27

splendide you're doing great & it will get better, best of luck with hv :) i know its going to be difficult but tell her as much as possible about it all x

wondermoose13 · 22/12/2014 15:31

And on a me being over dramatic note.... my biological father is calling round tomorrow... we only see each other at weddings and funerals..... hes much more of an 'uncle dickhead' than a dad but for some reason has decided he 'needs' to see me and babymoose.... not looking forward to this at all! (Oh woe is me and my mini dramas! Lol)

mrsb87 · 22/12/2014 16:13

Ah yes moose that sounds familiar. At this party last night asked what was in what and she kept saying "you can have that there's no milk...its blah blah cheese blah blah" so cheese isn't milk now apparently! I could have carrots and cucumber. I chanced an onion bhaji and then fil said he put yoghurt in the batter, only like 2 tablespoon but still. Peachy! Lovely green poo this morning, it was HUGE! Enjoy your tinned Peaches moose! Can't even make it better with a but of cream!

STIGZ · 22/12/2014 16:14

Everyone from glasgow ok ?

Just heard what happned in george sqaure... So so sad Sad

fatpony · 22/12/2014 16:30

Awful about Glasgow. My sis has been stuck in traffic for hours trying to get past Glasgow but must be something unrelated.

Splendide, I hope your HV will be helpful. Thinking of you, no advice to offer but here is to 2015 being better.

YellowWellies · 22/12/2014 16:42

Hope your HV chat is going well Splendide xxx

YY to not travelling for Christmas with weans especially if on a restricted diet! I'm making df and sf chocolate cheesecake, df and sf raspberry trifle and df and sf mince pies. If anyone wants recipes pm me - they're super easy. I'm sick of no pudding at Christmas!

Glasgow is heartbreaking. Kirstpop are you OK?

Grannyapple · 22/12/2014 17:06

Yeah awful news about the accident in glasgow. BIL is a paramedic & on site apparently...

splendide · 22/12/2014 18:42

Awful about Glasgow :(

Embarrassingly my HV had been told I'd described myself as suicidal on here. Not quite sure the mechanism by which that happened but I'm vaguely impressed. So we've agreed a bit of a plan. Also weighed him and he's lost a little bit so that hasn't really helped my mood.

Captainmcgraw · 22/12/2014 18:43

Splendide - tiredness (although in your exhausted state you may not notice!), bad headaches, nausea, insomnia, and my eyes went really weird and zoomed about in their sockets a lot. However I have to add I have a very low tolerance for drugs of any kind and I know other people who haven't had many. As long as you get some practical help in place for a couple of weeks then you would be fine and suddenly the side effects wear off, the drugs kick in and you start to feel a fog lifting. It was amazing how much better I started to feel. That was my experience anyway.

splendide · 22/12/2014 18:47

Thanks captain good to be forewarned.

YellowWellies · 22/12/2014 20:36

Yes she's safe

tattyblue · 22/12/2014 20:37

She has.

wondermoose13 · 22/12/2014 21:22

Sorry to be moaning with everything thats going on but in having a bit of a first world problems kinda night!
Havent had a shower for 5 days.. this is because dh is fairly incompetant at keeping ds entertained for 20 minutes. When pointing out why i needed a shower tonight i found some sick i my hair... no idea how long its been there
Gets in shower, shampoo in hair, water turns to ice cold in an instant. Dh informs me its being doing that for a while since united utilities buggered up our areas water supply sometime last week. So he wandered off to call a plumber leaving me to try and get dry/warm and find ds who had been abandoned on his play mat in his rook whilst ds went downstairs to ring people...my face feels like sandpaper, my body is greasy from the shampoo and my hair is like... well ive no idea but its not good!
I feel bad moaning about such trivial things but i just really dont get why dh didnt ring a plumber last week! If nothing else baby moose needs baths (apparently the water works intermittently)
And you can guarantee the mil will make some comment on weds about me looking like crap..
Ok rant over, sorry!

wondermoose13 · 22/12/2014 21:45

.... dh just declared he needs 30mins to himself because the whole boiler situation has stressed him out.... aaaaaand breathe!

STIGZ · 22/12/2014 21:46

Oh thank god kirstie is ok!

I think a women with a baby in a buggy where hit ? So so tragic for everyone involved.

I was going to take the kids up there today to see the reindeer & lights, I'm not going to bother now, i just feel so sad about it, things like this really cut me up and make my anxiety peak.

Glad you are getting support from hv splendid
