Oh gosh, so sorry to hear about yesterday Agnu Is today going any better? Also, your DH's comment is pretty much the same thing that mine would say (probably has said in the past!). It's f'ing infuriating that they think they can do backseat parenting when they don't spend more than 2 hours a day with them when they are at work. They think they are "helping" but the only thing they are helping with are getting no sex for the night. Wink

Oh my gosh, tell me about the crying over new clothes/shoes! I just had to haul the boys out to the shops to get #1 more jeans and #2 new shoes. They promptly jumped in mud puddles with their new shoes on the minute they walk out the store and DS#1 gets ketchup all over his new shirt.

And yes to the leggings! They are supposed to be stretchy, what is going on with the knee-sag? There is a massive kids used-clothes store here that I usually go to and the clothes that seem to hold up the best are GAP and Old Navy. I WISH we had a Next! I adore their clothes. DSIL sends a few things over for M sometimes and I pick up some things while I'm there, but I never get to experience the whole "Next Sale".

Just thinking agnu do you think the migraines could be due to food intolerances or allergies? I get CraZY migraines that last for a couple of days if I drink cow's milk-even just in a bowl of cereal (which really bums me out, b/c I love it so much). A small splash of cream in coffee is ok, but that's about all I can do.

Off to the chiropractor. So excited to have everything get put back together Grin

AGnu · 27/01/2015 16:51

Don't take away my milk bring! Shock I adore chocolate flavoured milk. I have a glass of milkshake milk in the mornings & a mug of hot chocolate warm milk every night. My diet is pretty set in it's ways - we have a mental list of about maybe 20ish meals that we pick from, unless I'm excited about trying something new which I rarely like so I'm not convinced it's diet related. I've yet to suss any correlation, at least. It's writing down things like that that make me realise quite how AS-like my behaviour is without even realising it! We meal-plan around the tastes & textures that I'll tolerate & that's actually quite limited! We eat a varied enough diet to be healthy chocolate milk, aside but it's definitely restricted by my issues.

Today is slightly better. I cancelled a playdate with a relatively new friend who I was trying to make an effort with. I stayed up too late last night & then DS1 got disturbed by foxes mating ridiculously loudly just outside the house! So I text her this morning to rearrange. I just couldn't face it. I went back to sleep instead while the DC played happily. They woke me up when they got bored & I spent half the rest of the day worrying I was becoming depressed again. Then I put them up for quiet time & trawled the internet for a while & I'm feeling a bit more sane now. Slightly, sort of... Blush It's a phase, they come & go. I'll be me again soon, I hope!

I think the thing that's thrown me is planning MIL's 60th birthday cake. It's for the end of Feb but she's into flower arranging so I'm making a load of sugar flowers to go on the top & only get small pockets of time to work on it. As if that wasn't enough stress, my original thought had been to present the cake at a small family meal but DH & DBIL have organised a bigger family gathering which will include MIL's sister & her DH who regularly take up new hobbies, perfect them & move on. One of their past hobbies was sugar flowers & they've mentioned to me about a time when they had sugar flowers drying all over their house. I was happy with my cake design until I realised people much more experienced than me would be examining it closely! DAunt won't be anything but complimentary but I can foresee DUncle making 'helpful' comments about how I could've done it better! Kinda freaking out & avoiding doing anything on it which isn't helping because I'm rapidly using up the time-buffer I factored in for emergencies/incidents! And breathe...! Blush And as if all that wasn't enough, PILs are coming here on Saturday so I'm going to have to hide everything & just hope Calf doesn't comment on things that are 'missing'! We've carefully not mentioned it in his hearing but he does seem to have an obsession with building towers 'cakes' for various people out of duplo at the moment!

Calf wore through his trousers for the first time about a month ago. I nearly patched them like my mum would've when I was little! Then I remembered they were from a charity shop in the first place & were really thin material that would've been difficult to patch. They're mostly still at the growing-out-of rather than wearing-out phase. Calf does seem to develop random holes in his PJ tops though. 2 tops so far have developed holes in the belly area for no apparent reason! Confused I assume they must be scagging on something in the wash but it's weird that both holes have been in similar places!

bringonthetrumpets · 27/01/2015 19:28

Oh of course I wouldn't take your milk away, agnu Wink I hope the headaches clear for you!

The cake situation does sound stressful! Yikes.

Holy cow, I'm in love with my chiropractor. She has magic hands.

Lorelei353 · 27/01/2015 20:20

DS loves a fountain ponytail. He grabs my hair bobbins all the time and holds them to his head and says 'hair, hair'. when I put it in he looks at himself in the mirror, laughs and then pulls it out. REPEAT? AND REPEAT?

Agnu hope you're feeling better.

Hiya ladies, hope everyone is doing well!

M woke up in a great mood this morning (compared to the rest of the week, yikes). DH may have called her "the spawn of satan" at one point Hmm. She has been driving everyone insane with her screaming, hitting, head-bashing, and throwing herself on the floor, combined with refusing to go to sleep in the evenings despite her practically passing out when she's downstairs with us. WOW, it's been kinda hellish over here. I know there's something going on with her, maybe teeth, or she's working through some frustrations with things (her vocab is exploding right now). Who knows, but I really hope she's in a good mood again later when we get back from Montessori school.

DH is 30 days sober. He's like a completely different man. Motivated, kind, artistic... it makes me want to cry with how proud I am of him and how thankful that things have turned around. It was a very dark moment in time about a month ago. Thank you for listening as I poured my heart out on here. I know we're 4,000 miles away, but I still really appreciate each and every one of you gals.

peardrop2 · 29/01/2015 15:46

Awww bring isn't it just soooo refreshing when they snap out of whatever it was that made their character go nutty for a few days Smile It makes everything and everyone step on cloud 9, I know that feeling Wink Long may it continue for you Smile I'm chuffed to hear your DH is in a good place. I don't feel I've really contributed in supporting you as I've not wanted to interfere too much on the matter. I've got alcoholics in the family so I know sometimes no words help but I'm always here to listen Brew Sounds really positive for you all. Hallelujah! How's your studies going?

We've had a quiet week. After last weekends teething hell, bpear then came down with a fever on Monday night. Went by Wednesday morning and then came back again Wednesday night. Gone again this morning. I don't really know what is going on. I have a feeling he might have caught a bug from the nursery visited on Monday. Anyway, whilst he's been sleeping this afternoon I've made Chilli con carne. Well at least I think I have. I've never made it before and I've sort of made up the receipi. Onions, mixed peppers, mince beef, mixed can of beans, tomatoes, Worcester sauce and a smudge of mild curry powder. Does that sound like it?

I've got PILs coming tomorrow pear so, umm, yeah... Woohoo? Wink The house is currently a tip, DH isn't home yet & Mr Tesco should be turning up in 20 minutes. Also, I'm hungry but I refuse to have the oven on for 3 separate meals in one evening & I am not cooking DH's dinner now because he'll only moan about the fish fingers we're so classy being soggy when he reheats it. As soon as PILs leave tomorrow I've got to get on with MIL's birthday cake. The fruit needs to be washed & left to dry overnight then the actual cake will take about 4 hours in the oven! I have very precise instructions in my great-grandmother's recipe on how many layers of greaseproof, and which order they should go in, to use to wrap the cake so it doesn't burn. It seems like she had it down to military precision but I'm more of a slap-dash type cook so it'll be an interesting experience!

bring I'm proud of your DH too & I've never even met him! Go him getting to 30 days! It must be such a relief to have the 'real' him around all the time! Still kinda want to punch him for treating you like that at all! How's he getting on with AA? Is he feeling better in himself for the lack of booze or does he miss it at all?

How's M doing? Hope you managed to get some things done!

Have a nice evening pear! When's your next 2ww?

bringonthetrumpets · 30/01/2015 22:43

Have a lovely time, pear!!

I am amazed by your cake-baking abilities, agnu I am a terrible baker (other than cookies). Cakes and myself do not get along. I hope it goes well for you!

He's doing fantastically with AA. He's going twice a week and he's got a great sponsor that he is studying the "big book" with. He's doing daily reflections and has started working on more hobbies. It's so amazing to have this happy, grounded, amazing man back. He's turned into a much more patient parent and rarely shouts that the kids like he used to. It's just such a huge difference from before. I am cautiously optimistic about this recovery. We are bound to hiccups, but he says the cravings are virtually gone and that he sees drinking again as a path to destruction.

M is feeling better. I've been answering emails and submitting insurance claims while she's being busy, but it's the long phone calls that are hard to get done while the kids are here screeching in the background. Hardly the professional image I'm going for!

peardrop2 · 31/01/2015 08:00

Agnu - woohoo indeed! Nothing like the in-laws to spice up your weekend Wink I am also very impressed with your baking skills! I need to make a cake soon just so I can get some practise in before bpears birthday as his 1st cake was also my 1st cake Blush
My 2ww begins sometime next weekend I think. My cheapie Ov sticks are already showing a faint line, don't know whether that means I'm getting closer to OV or not. Time will tell.

Bpear has woken up with a cold and cough Confused Might explain why he had a fever this week. I just hope that we don't catch it on TTC week Shock

peardrop2 · 31/01/2015 09:26

Bring ~ that's amazing that M can keep herself busy on her own. Bpear won't even watch his fav music dvd on his own. We're literally have to be attached at all times according to his rules Grin

OP posts:
bringonthetrumpets · 31/01/2015 16:23

Phhhhsssshhh, nope, she sucks at keeping herself busy. When I'm around she wants to be on me with her hand down my shirt, when DH has her she's a busy bee getting into everything. Usually I can get away from her for a few minutes when she's eating something in her high chair strapped down Grin

Fingers crossed this is your lucky cycle!

Ahhh bring I must have misread your post!

Frus ~ sounds like a yummy party bag for mums Wink

I'm coming down with Bpears cold/flu right smack in egg laying time! Grrrrrr Confused On the bright side though I got a strong line on my cheapy Ov test this afternoon (not as strong as the test line but certainly obvious) so I will hopefully lay an egg a lot quicker then last month as I am on cd13. Very exciting! And this means I am now in for a chance of a late October baby woop woop! Now I just have to ignore the shivers, back pain and OMG I just want to go to bed thoughts and pretend the exact opposite Wink

bringonthetrumpets · 01/02/2015 02:09

LOL frus I love that I'm on your mind at a birthday party Grin It sounds like she had a pretty decent meal despite all the sugar available. I would totally do the same thing and raid the goody bag to end up with a sugar-high. Totally acceptable when you're over the age of 18!

Awwwwhhhh, crap pear that sucks! I hope you can get some despite having the sniffles. That just reminded me of that episode of "Friends" where Monica has the cold and she just really wants some but Chandler just can't do it. Hopefully your hubby is like mine and will want a piece of ass no matter what state I'm in Wink Hmm Go lay your egg and get better soon, lady!

M fell asleep in the car on our way home from visiting my dad (1 hour drive) and we got home at 7pm. She does not seem tired or ready for bed anytime soon. Ugh.
