Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TheRealGracePoole · 22/01/2015 08:03

Apparently v cute but I couldn" even look. If I did I would never sit on the sofa again.

Pikz · 22/01/2015 08:08

Well done GP I am petrified of them

I was feeling bad that L still has a bottle but not so bothered now!

StuntNun · 22/01/2015 08:37

On the subject of bottles and dummies my twelve-year-old still has his bedtime milk in a Nuk sippy cup we bought in Berlin way back in 2005. I know he would be embarrassed if his friends found out but on the other hand it gets nearly a pint of milk into him every day (he's underweight off the bottom of the percentile chart). In parenting sometimes what's best for your child is what works. Don't be in too much of a hurry to wean them off dummies, bottles, toilet train etc. Do it when the time is right for everybody.

Elizadoesdolittle · 22/01/2015 09:55

Yay go Lorraine. Hope she doesn't make a reappearance.

Elizadoesdolittle · 22/01/2015 10:00

Anyone else's LO watch bing? E loves it but I find it quite bizzare.

TheRealGracePoole · 22/01/2015 11:01

I agree stunt there is no rush to grow up regardless sof what people say you need to do what is best for you and DC.

No eliza but the boys love Boj, really love Boj.

Last night O was whirling round and round in his room making himself dizzy shouting "dinosaur" (don't know why) he feel and really cracked his head on the one thing in his big room that he could hurt his head on, the corner of the chimney breast. I screamed, DS1 came rushing in, O cried.

So while I sorted him out, luckily no blood and a nice big lump, DS1 came downstairs, when I followed him down he had got out the beakers (we use Tommee Tippees still even for DS1 if he is not sitting at the table) and got out the milk and set up everything ready for milk time.

Huge rush of love for my thoughtful little boy.

YellowWellies · 22/01/2015 13:22

Grace what a little star! What animal IS Boj? A bandicoot?

Eliza Bing Bunny is the worst sort of drama school brat. What is it with the giant animal babies and their tiny carers?

TheRealGracePoole · 22/01/2015 15:31

He is a bilby, would you believe.

Yes, I googled him.

Passmethecrisps · 22/01/2015 18:46

Also googled Boj. Did you know that Pops is voiced by Jason Donovan?

Lily311 · 22/01/2015 20:11

Hello quiche,
Sorry I have been away just lots happening.

Things with nice guy did not work out, he got scared of his feelings. I am very sad but need to move on. Not sure if we ever have a chance in this life but right now I don't want to think about it.

Started my therapy too, feeling very emotional about everything. It already has a good effect on me though, after 3 years I started sleeping through the night again.

And bloody open Uni still demands me to write assignments, and that couples with a little girl who has flu and is at home all week. So busy busy busy. But I'm reading even if I'm not writing.

BigPigLittlePig · 22/01/2015 20:35

Hi Lily! Glad things are improving with the counselling. Sorry things didn't work out with the nice guy though Sad

So, this convo happened, repeatedly, last night in my bed, where a snotty F was snoozing.

F: "mummy mummy mummy"
Me: "yes F?"
F: "aaaah mummy k? mummy tired?"
Me: "yes mummy's tired"
F: "mummy sleep now"

Etc etc. Throughout the night. Good job I love her so much.

Kyz · 22/01/2015 20:58

Evening all :) I had a list as long as my arm today and didn't finish it, grr. I did cross some things off it though so could've been worse I guess! Had e's 2.5 year review letter come through today with a couple of questionnaires i'm meant to fill in. I had a couple of funny thoughts when it came to the questions 'does your child follow instructions', because I thought ha! not when tv is on/when he feels like being ignorant. But then I started thinking well what am I supposed to put for that then?! Now i'm not sure of half of my answers and i'm glad I haven't done it in pen yet!

pass not quite the same but everyone feels the need to comment on E's hair too. Some of the things people have said to me have really narked/upset me. I've had... he looks like a girl.... you'll give him a complex.... you're setting him up to go funny (i am assuming gay)...he'll get bullied no end at school like that... I could go on :(

glad the little mouse is back where she belongs grace :)

eliza e has watched it before, it is a bit different but then I really struggle to get my head around ITNG

bless him grace what a star! :) glad o is ok too

hey lily! sorry things didn't work out with the nice guy, but really glad counselling is going well so far! yay for sleeping :) Hope O is better soon and you get a bit of a rest from being so busy!

Bless her bp, being cute certainly works in their favour!

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 22/01/2015 22:02

lily I am so glad you are sleeping. Sleep is soooo important. As a fellow insomniac I know that sleep helps everything!

I am also glad that Lorraine was released. I hope she survives the cold weather.

LO is obsessed by a nursery woman atm. Marie-Pierre. She is lovely. The other night, as usual, I popped her in her cot and said "I love you"

And she looked at me. And said "oui, and I love Marie-Pierre."

ShockSmileGrin

Told M-P that and we laughed. In front of LO. So now LO's big joke is to call me by MP's name and refer to MP as Maman. And she actually cackles when I correct her.

They say toddlers are innocent and are never manipulative. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. THEY ARE EVIL. Grin

Elizadoesdolittle · 22/01/2015 22:28

Haha gg bless her. That did make me laugh. I concour, they are evil little things.

lily I am sorry that things didn't work out with the nice guy. But glad to hear that things are improving for you in other areas.

TheRealGracePoole · 23/01/2015 07:24

lily sorry things didn't work out for you. Good stuff about the counselling, it will get hard, but I am sure it will benefit all aspects of your life. Hugs.

bp that must have been so frustrating. I concur with gg they know exactly what they are doing!

TheRealGracePoole · 23/01/2015 17:28

Ooo I have lure,y popped in for a mini rant.

AIBU?

SIL said she would lend me a book for ds1. Yesterday she sent me a text to see if I still wanted it. I a swered back and said

yes please I could pop over today (yesterday) or tomorrow (today) at 3:30.

She said ok but she had to pick her ds1 up at 3:45 yesterday.

So I said ok, I will pop in tomorrow. She said ok.

Then at 3:20 ish today I got a text that said " I am going to town now I can drop the book off after if you want"

I read this like, I have been waiting in for you and now I am going to town. Even though we had ok'd on 3:30 Or I know we had agreed that you would come over but now I am going out.

I am feeling a bit offended. And ds1 was looking forward to popping over and ended up in tears.

So I had to do baking to cheer him up.

This is after we were invited to MILs as a family, with the Sils and dN's just before Christmas. At 1:30. So we arrived on time andthey had all eaten their Sunday lunch and we had to sit there on our own and eat.

I felt offended and actually that they just don't like me.

Tell me I am just being pmtish.

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 23/01/2015 17:54

They might not like you, but I doubt it.

Sounds a bit flakey actually but I honestly wouldn't read anything into today's episode.

The pre Christmas meal is a tad weird - were the kids hungry so they ate before?

TheRealGracePoole · 23/01/2015 20:00

So yes gg yous re right. She came round and we had a glass o. Wine and a lovely time.

I just think that is what they are like here and I need to chill out a bit.

Sigh.

Think kids were hungry but we were only 20 mins or so behind them and we were only hanging around at home waiting for the time so if they had texted we could have just gone down.

Sigh.

StuntNun · 23/01/2015 20:25

J is lying in his bed muttering the alphabet to himself. He's completely obsessed with letters atm.

Passmethecrisps · 23/01/2015 20:30

far and few, far and few are he lands where the jumblies live.
Their heads and greens and their hands are blue and they went to see in a sieve

If I never read this again o will be vair pleased!

Cuddle chat time tonight. . .
"Who is your best friend at the big house?" (What p calls nursery)
"Connor"
"What games do you like playing with Connor?" (Last week the answer was cars)
"Kissing"
"Kissing?!?! Shock
" nooooo! Not kissing!"
"Ok. What games do you play with Connor?"
"Kissing"

Oh dear.

grace. I would have been perturbed by that as well and the lack of thought really. A wee call to say "we are doing nothing right now so pop over" would have been good. Like me though, you maybe need to think less. Wine

What is everyone up to this weekend?

Passmethecrisps · 23/01/2015 20:34

I am very impressed with alphabet muttering. Possibly quite relaxing for him. P is obsessed with counting. All letters and numbers are counting. Everything is 4, 5, 6

MsJupiter · 23/01/2015 20:49

Lily I am sorry to hear about the nice guy. I hope the counselling is a positive experience for you and that there will be someone right for you in the future.

L sings the alphabet song in bed quite often, or counts. He is another one who loves his letters and numbers.

Kyz · 23/01/2015 21:52

Evening everyone :)

bless you Grace I would be pondering at that too, but they can't not like you, definitely not!

Alphabet muttering is impressive. Sometimes E will say e is forrrrrrrr and then say dog. E is for everything. Then when i say no, d is for dog, he will then say d is forrrrrrrrr and then say anything else not beginning with a d. Makes me chuckle. Counting wise we have one two three five ten. But he doesn't really count more just say the words I think, if there's two of something he's ok but if there's 3 he just keeps going through the sequence (the incorrect sequence!)

LOL pass bless her! This weekend I am supposed to be going to..... MIL's partners daughters 18th birthday party - phew! Anyway, i'm sure she'd rather be out with her friends or something! It doesn't start until e is supposed to be in bed anyway but we are desperately wanted there for some reason. I am, funnily enough, not looking forward to it! Am I just being miserable in my old age?

Kyz · 23/01/2015 21:53

I meant to put an ! not an . after alphabet muttering - i don't mean for it to sound dismissive, it really is impressive!

Elizadoesdolittle · 23/01/2015 21:57

grace that does all sound a tad odd to me but perhaps that's what peeps are like round those parts Grin

E likes to sing the alphabet song too. She has no idea what the meaning of it is. She points at letters in a book and says the phonics for a and p but that's only because she hears her sister do it.

Poor baby A has a cold. E has one and I caught her sneezing all over him. Can't blame her though as we've all had it. Although nobody else has actually sneezed over him! I am still quite paranoid about him having silent reflux. I thought last night that he did but I'm just hoping it's mucus etc from the cold.

In answer to your question pass we have the midwife clinic tomorrow followed by a kids party. Not much planned for Sunday. DH is golfing and I am going to try and stay in for as long as the kids let me.
