Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Wandathewindfairy · 30/12/2014 08:43

Low carbs day today in prep for my chinese. Yum. Grin

Zamboni · 30/12/2014 09:08

That sounds like a good NYE Lily! I will be home with the DC as DH will work til late and is in again first thing the next day. I will watch a film, write resolutions down and go to bed early!

Elizadoesdolittle · 30/12/2014 10:32

lily you could well be right. Yours sounds lovely.

Sorry pr you've lost your winners title in the sweepstakes. Hope your girls are better soon and you make it to peads safely.

Very cold and frosty here but nice and bright which I like. Spent morning on phone trying to sort out the car. Not 100% convinced that the garage they are towing it to is open so it could well end up here not being able to start.

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 30/12/2014 11:35

I'm on antibiotics for cystitis. Came on this morning. My GP is on strike but unofficially seeing patients. Meant I didn't have to go to the paeds. And didn't have to ask the paed for abs for cystitis for me.

I haven't had it in soooo long this is shit timing. Ow ow ow ow.

Elizadoesdolittle · 30/12/2014 12:01

ouch gg that's horrid. I used to get it a lot when younger.

Car can't be fixed till next Monday! And that was negotiated down from 30th Jan. What a joke. It's got to go to a ford dealer. Stupid bloody thing. Still it's not like I live in the arse end of nowhere and DH can't drive it anyway so could be a lot worse.

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 30/12/2014 12:05

Me too used to get it alll the time ie every time the abs lost their effect. My ob gyn in Paris sent me for a huge run of tests, literally looking through her book for ideas. They eventually found a very random bacteria we all have but mine was unbalanced some how. Treated that, nothing since. I reckon this is just common or garden cystitis though.

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 30/12/2014 12:05

30thJan I would have been v rude about that. Next Monday is ok.

Zamboni · 30/12/2014 12:10

Crikey 30th Jan? Glad you got a more reasonable date.

Ouchy ouch ouch GG.

We came home y'day after a really good few days away. The house was super tidy and DH had cleaned it from top to bottom on his morning off. I moan about him from time to time I know, but he is a good soul really. And now he has taken the DC to PIL and I am pottering and tidying drawers and MNing which makes me v happy. N

Wandathewindfairy · 30/12/2014 12:32

Have you got a courtesy car eliza ? If you are still under warrentee or had the car serviced at a ford dealer less than a year ago you should get ford assist which should give you a hire car. As you know I am in arse end of nowhere and I did have to wait nearly a month to get my car fixed and thus have tested out their customer complaints process! They can be quite helpful and they gave me a free service because of all my hassle

Glad you are having good times zamboni

I used to get cystitis loads in my late teens early twenties and I never went to the gp as I was too emabbressed. Silly. I know. But would drink loads and loads of water to try and flush it out. Luckily I rarely get it anymore but it is not unheard of. Have you sorted the kids out too gg?

Opinion needed. We have a b'day oarty to go to today and yesterday the roads were really icey so I didn"t want to venture v far for a gift. So I got a cbeebies mag? Do you think that is ok for a 5 year old or a bit stingy? I normally only spend a fiver anyway and they are about £4. I know ds1 would love one if he got it as I never spend my money on them but i don't know.

Wandathewindfairy · 30/12/2014 12:33

Embarrassed

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 30/12/2014 12:36

Yes they will love that wanda

Well done zamboni's dp excellent brownie point winning.

I'm drinking pints of water.

Girls sorted too. Left the pharmacy with a big bag of pills and potions.

Zamboni · 30/12/2014 13:21

Sounds perfect Wanda - the parents will probably also be grateful!

Elizadoesdolittle · 30/12/2014 20:50

Well the car is now at a ford garage which took some doing. At first they said they couldn't do anything till 30th January but fil got all stern and they are looking at it on Monday. It's a immobiliser issue which I suspected after doing some googling last night. I only have warranty on it for another 17 days or something. I need to call them back tomorrow. It's not a ford warranty as I didn't get it from a ford dealer. I'm lucky the car got there in one piece anyway. As the car was being hinched onto the tow truck it rolled off and according to fil "gently hit the house" so now my pil house has some pebble dashing missing and I have a lovely dent in my car. Honestly. They will fix it of course but what a bloody palaver.

Passmethecrisps · 30/12/2014 21:14

For heaven's sake eliza what a palaver. I am amazed that baby has stayed snuggled with all this carry on. We recently discovered that a trusted dealer has been pretending to install the expensive parts DH buys and hasn't serviced the car at least the last two times. We actually met the guy in sainsburys the other day and he gave a cheery nod and smile to DH who looked like he would happily stuff him with a turkey. I am glad that fil is on board with it - I despise dealing with car issues.

Nothing much done today other than the great drawer emptying fiasco and some returning of clothes. P was atrocious at bedtime again. She is so very tired but gets absolutely hyper at bedtime. Tonight she begged for a dinopaws story. We don't have such a thing but do have one about dinosaurs which was in the back of my car. So DH duly goes out and gets it only to met with total hysterics that it wasn't right. We ended up cuddled in her room watching an episode of dinopaws which led to more weeping when it was over. She is sleeping about 13-14 hours a night so not waking until 9-10am which is lovely for a holiday but it seems she still needs a nap to be getting her through the day. For example today she woke at 9:30 and was sound asleep by 7:15 after a fairly relaxed day. I am certainly, 100% not complaining about the long lies so please no one think that but I am a little worried about her still. I checked her over tonight and her skin was a bit tartan but no spots.

Anyway, now watching ripper street and enjoying the peace.

Oh! DH actually asked me to ask you all - do your toddlers insist on having every toy they own out in view? If P sees me pack things away she gets really upset and drags everything back out again.

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 30/12/2014 21:41

Yes pass all toys and books have to be out hence the very messy storage pic on fb yesterday. Drives me mad as just to leave the house everything has to be tidied out of the dog's way.

DD1 is getting more helpful at tidying but LO still finds tidying akin to torture.

Bedtimes here are preceded by a good 20 minutes of excitement. I got bedtime back to just after 9pm today by cutting the nap short.

eliza I hate cars. With so many things nowadays I am sure they are made to have something go wrong just at the end of their warranty. They don't make things like they used to

Read one of those irritating parenting things online today and one point really stood out: take more pictures of the kids with us. Will be nicer memories for later on rather than just pics of the kids on their own. Another resolution for my 2015 list.

Bed now for me. Expect to need the loo at least 20 times during the night. Bastard cystitis.

Elizadoesdolittle · 30/12/2014 22:11

Yes pass E is notoriously bad for this. DD1 has got very good at helping me put things away but not at the stage where she thinks to do it herself. E can't bear to put anything away and if I do she constantly asks where certain things are.

All car problems I know of are due to computer issues/technology rather than the car mechanism itself. So I agree totally pr. Sleep tight.

Elizadoesdolittle · 30/12/2014 22:14

Oh and that's an excellent ny resolution and I may well add it to my list. I have very few photos of the kids with anyone. And I don't really have any photos of me with this bump. So next year I will get snapping.

Lily311 · 31/12/2014 05:42

I have to say O is really the best at bedtime, she never gets active as she loves the winding down. But than there is no one else coming home at that time to get excited for so probably she is just dead bored of me. I really really don't want her to drop her nap though. Never.

Pictures are tricky. I have lots of selfies with o but only a handful of those that were taken of us by someone else. I make a photo book every year and it's full of our pictures as well as hers.

And yes, the toddler has to have everything out all day. She insists, you know.

That's exciting pennie good luck with the move and the new job.

StuntNun · 31/12/2014 08:27

Is this your new car Eliza? What a lot of bother over getting it fixed.

Wandathewindfairy · 31/12/2014 08:40

Great news pennie exciting new year for you.

This < the screaming shouting, slamming brothers out of playroom and wheeling remote control cars down the slide> is why I had stopped giving them cereal in the morning. Today they had cheeriosas a treat. Point made i believe.

O has taken to chucking all toys out of his cot at nap time and in the night. This morning he started to wimper around 7:15. I went in, all the toys on floor. All bedding on floor, leg stuck in bars ( not really stuck just a bit) he was simpering "stuck " "stuck"

Sigh.

I am just sat with a cup of tea ignoring it all!

Wandathewindfairy · 31/12/2014 08:46

Oh and I seem to have a random case of gingivitis. double sigh. ( I have always had a tendancy to it if I am not double vigilant about flossing etc, obviously I have become lazy over the holidays)

StuntNun · 31/12/2014 10:48

Wanda Gengigel mouthrinse is the shiz for gingivitis. It's pricey but well worth it as it's so soothing and it heals your gums quickly.

Wandathewindfairy · 31/12/2014 12:40

Oh great. I just went to the town and got some corsodyl and some beauty flash balm if I have no joy I will see if I can get some.
