Just wrote a long message on the old thread only to have it not post because we'd filled it.

We really ought to do less chatting and more sleeping Wink

earth hope the meeting goes well today

MerryPops · 17/12/2014 08:13

nature snap! After 2 weeks of A coming in with us in the night we decided to stand firm last night as he is over his cold as he was waking earlier and earlier wanting to be with us. Needless to say he was not impressed. I am knackered today so am staying home. Hope you get some rest!

earth that sounds painful. I finished my studies just as I got pg, I know I'd struggle now.

Hope everyone has a good day.

BookTart · 17/12/2014 09:01

Sympathy to those with teething babies. We've only got 6 so far, so I'm dreading the rest that are still to come!

Today I'll be replacing all her sleeping bags with ones that zip up the front, because she's worked out how to get out of the ones with poppers on the shoulder. I discovered this when I went into her room at 6am and found her bouncing around the cot with her sleeping bag discarded in the corner. I hate the zip front ones. I am too clumsy to do them Sad

altered things sound so difficult where you are. I'm sorry your DH is being an arse Thanks

EarthMither · 17/12/2014 10:58

Thanks nature and MerryPops - hope you both manage to get some rest today. The broken sleep is unbelievably knackering.

BookTart I'm afraid I had a little giggle at the mental image of DD bouncing around in her cot minus her grobag, but I'm sure it wasn't funny to find her like that! I'm with you on disliking the zip front ones too - I always feel like I have to manhandle DS to get his arms into them.

TobyLerone · 17/12/2014 11:02

We have an IKEA zip front sleeping bag with no poppers. It's great but no help for you, given that you went to IKEA last weekend :o

Cheers for all the support. Things seem a bit better and I'm not so sad but I just hate not being able to sort things out properly iyskim. I'm aware I'm probably projecting some of the fact that my mum left my dad only a few years ago but had been unhappy for a long time (and a long story that you'd need Wine Wine Wine for) I don''t want that to be me!
I'm so impressed with sleeping progress. We continue on the co-cleeping and sucking back to sleep mischief cos its an easy life but I am wondering about our fairly slack bedtime routine etc. And also dream of being able to go out in the evening or even move around rather than being trapped under a sleeping baby. Possibly once we're over the January fulltime nursery change I'll see what little puggle's like and might feel strong enough to try something different. Honestly, path of least resistance......

BookTart · 17/12/2014 13:52

Clearly I am not an expert at this sleep thing puggle, but the thing that made the most difference to P at the start of the sleep training was a pretty strict daytime routine. It isn't for everyone (I hate it, it is pretty restrictive), but she really went for it in a big way. We didn't really have a bedtime routine at all, and it is still very short to avoid her getting furious overstimulated, so starting one really helped. It is so hard when you're exhausted though, everything is so difficult.

toby you've just reminded me that I've got an Ikea one under her cot - brilliant!

Naturegirl82 · 17/12/2014 15:27

Eek MW has managed to get me a scan on Friday! Exciting.

book sorry but that did make me laugh as well.

Hope you are feeling better merry

I've done nothing all day just vegged either on the sofa or in bed. I need to go out and pick up a prescription but I just can't be bothered.

AMillionNameChangesLater · 17/12/2014 18:07

Henry refuses to sleep in the day anymore, i've tried loads and dh tried all today. Instead he goes to bed at 4.30/5 and sleeps for the night then.

Which means I don't get to see him as atm i'm working until 8

Naturegirl82 · 17/12/2014 18:45

million that must be hard for you. O seems to have dropped down to one 2 hour nap midday which seems to work well.

Her cheeks were flaming red when she came home today so I don't think we are in for a good night. She's gone to bed topped up with calpol, anbesol and teething granules. Tried to buy some baby ibuprofen but because of her kidney issues we have to check with consultant first.

MrsGSR · 17/12/2014 20:53

Earth studies are going fairly well, feel a little behind when DH was away but I've caught up now :) I hope your meeting went well!

MrsGSR · 17/12/2014 20:54

Oops, posted too soon. Also meant to say thank you for asking :)
And that I hope everyone has a better night tonight!

Naturegirl82 · 18/12/2014 09:47

Anyone else's LO had their molars come through yet? O is really struggling with these ones, she is in so much more pain than any of the others. I assume as they are bigger teeth this is normal.

TobyLerone · 18/12/2014 10:41

Ha! M only just has 2 teeth :o

Poor O, though. It must be horrid for them :(

OP posts:
Naturegirl82 · 18/12/2014 11:58

Bless M with only 2 teeth. O is a proper little chomper now! Poor thing is struggling. We have given up with her cot and room for now (don't want to affect the positive sleep association we have there) and have brought her back into our bed. I've managed to stick to the no feeding overnight though which is good. But I was watching in the night garden on my phone in bed at 1.20am this morning! Confused Not great combined with a cold and pregnancy tiredness!

FelixFelixNavidad · 18/12/2014 13:12

S still hasn't got any teeth yet Shock

Just been to the play group xmas party. S didn't like Santa and cried when ever a balloon went near her Grin

TobyLerone · 18/12/2014 13:43

Can't blame her :o

OP posts:
Naturegirl82 · 18/12/2014 18:12

Ah cute Felix. O loves a balloon but she did give Santa a very quizzical look when she met him.

Just got home to find Dh asleep on the couch and no O! Thought he had just abandoned her at the inlaws but apparently they are still out galavanting seeing the Christmas lights in town Grin

FelixFelixNavidad · 18/12/2014 19:24

I got out one of her birthday balloons and blew it up to see if I could make her like them. She still hated it so I drew an, admittedly quite creepy, smiley face on it which just made things worse Grin Then of course DP came home and got her to love the balloon within 2 minutes of him walking through the door Hmm

AMillionNameChangesLater · 18/12/2014 22:28

Ha ha ha

FelixFelixNavidad · 19/12/2014 05:05

S has made a habit of waking up at 3.30am and not going back to sleep until 5 Hmm WHY?! I want to get back in bed and sleeeeeeeep Confused

Naturegirl82 · 19/12/2014 05:33

Ah Felix that is crap. Has she learnt to settle herself yet or do you go in to her? O wakes at 5 but as long as I don't go in she has started going back to sleep.

Teeth seemed much better last night and O slept through again. Well she woke twice but settled herself so I consider that sleeping through. Smile

I'm awake and can't get back to sleep. Need to get into work early today as I have to leave early to get to my scan appointment. Hope work don't kick up a fuss.

FelixFelixNavidad · 19/12/2014 09:42

Ooh nature scan day! How exciting Smile hope it all goes well and work aren't too bothered about you leaving early.

Until a few days ago she would drink some milk then go back to sleep but for some reason she's been waking up at the same time and won't go back to sleep. She went back down at 5.15 but I couldn't get back to sleep until 6 Confused considering a nap when she has one later.

I've realised that she will eat loads more food if I sit her on the floor rather than her high chair. In her high chair she eats a bit then chucks it all on the floor or starts getting restless and cries to get out. If it's just on a plate on the floor she will eat quite a bit then go and crawl around and keep going back to it. Will it cause problems in the future if I don't put her in her high chair though? I've still been putting her in it for her tea because she always has something messy, but breakfast and lunch are just finger foods.

TobyLerone · 19/12/2014 09:47

Good luck with your scan, nature!

Naturegirl82 · 19/12/2014 10:08

Thanks feeling positive as we heard the heartbeat on Monday so fx nothing has happened in the meantime.

Felix we find the same with O. If she doesn't eat much we let her wander around with it and she comes back and picks at it for quite a while. Our problem with that is a) trying to stop the dog stealing food from O and b) trying to stop O from deliberately feeding the dog which she finds hilarious. Although the high chair doesn't necessarily stop b) either as she just drops it over the side and then looks to see if the dog is eating it. sigh
