I've only just got over the panic from last night, Em decided to show us how well she can roll by chucking herself off the sofa! I managed to grab her but it was by her lower arms and she really screamed for ages. So off to a&e we go, it wasn't a long wait and fortunately she is fine, but it was a very scary couple of hours.

My poor DH was beside himself as he put her on the sofa so decided it was all his fault Hmm

RedToothBrush · 24/12/2014 21:23

misog, please tell your DH thank you.

For all the stress and worry its caused you and thankfully all is fine, its a useful reminder to DH who I have to keep reminding not to leave DS on a high surface. I am getting slightly sick of it. Given DS can roll onto his side so far he's only managed it so he can watch TV - grumble so is showing sides that he might just do a full on roll, its pretty stupid.

I hope it might make him feel a bit better at least, that a) he's not alone in doing this and b) he might just save a worse accident.

Acorncat · 24/12/2014 21:33

DS did that at 5 weeks but I failed at trying to catch him! Everyone reassured me that it happens a lot hopefully not to me again

TeamEponine · 24/12/2014 21:53

Glad she's ok Misog. Must have been scary though.

Happy Christmas mummies xx

Salene · 25/12/2014 07:27

Those saying babys teething, get a gummy glove it's fab, no more wet clothes, and really seems to give them relief as there too small to hold a teether properly so in the mean time this is fab. My wee toot goes mental for it, ramming it down his wee throat.

Hello all! Yes, even though it is Christmas Day, I am on here with questions!!!

For those of you who use bottles. What do you do when going out? I'm just starting to introduce some top up formula feeds, but I'm totally confused about the best way to do this when out and about!

Thanks, and hope you are all having a wonderful day Xmas Smile

CumbrianExile · 25/12/2014 12:29

Team, I make bottles in advance and store them in the fridge. If I am out and about I just take the bottles already made up. Not sure that is what is advised now, but it works for us.
I know some people use the ready made cartons, or take the pre measured formula in a small tub and a flask of water cooled to 70 ish degrees.

CumbrianExile · 25/12/2014 12:31

Oh, forgot to add, Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you are all having a lovely day Xmas Smile

misog2000 · 25/12/2014 12:40

I pre make my bottles too, it's not the way they tell you to do it now, but it's the only practical way for me.

RedToothBrush · 25/12/2014 15:05

DS and DH are both fast asleep on the sofa.

Snoring.

FATEdestiny · 25/12/2014 20:37

..and then there was calm.

Christmas chaos over. I wouldn't change it for the world. But I do like it once all the children are in bed and relatives gone home.

cookielove · 25/12/2014 22:31

Merry Xmas everyone :)

team i either take empty sterilised bottles out with me and the pre made bottles of formula ( 79p each) or premeasured formula in a tub and cooled sterilised water in the bottle pre measured. Then mix when required!

Eli's hands are in his mouth all the time, but we think he is teething! He is much grumpier, is producing loads of drool, is knawing on one particular side and we think we can see a white bit of tooth. Fx that's what it is cause he is not a happy bunny!

FATEdestiny · 26/12/2014 19:06

Flick always has her hands in her mouth at the minute. It's not teething, just a developmental stage. She has discovered her hands, that's all. If not in her mouth or she is grabbing hold of any blanket put over her and lifting her arms so the blanket covers her face. I can't decide if this is deliberate or accidental but she does it every time I put a blanket over her (when dozing in bouncy chair for example).

Fantastic family Christmas here. Like yours Ella, Flick stayed asleep when others woke us so we did the present unwrapping with the big ones then they all helped her open hers after her morning breastfeed.

The bigger three are currently out in the snow with Daddy and sledges.

Got two extended family dos this weekend - my family Saturday and DHs family Sunday. Lots of baby passing around to be had!

holls2000 · 26/12/2014 19:52

yup b munches hands. has finally found thumb I think. have had 2 good nights 7-4, 4.30-8...long may it continue. he slept 2.5hrs today as well...all this being passed round is tiring!!

Nazly · 26/12/2014 22:33

Hands in mouth started a few weeks ago and it is going on constantly and strongly and never stops ; loads of drooling... If hand is not in mouth directly then it is holding a toy or bib or anything he can find in his mouth!! I don't even attempt to stop it ... Just got used to it...

misog2000 · 26/12/2014 23:52

Em puts her hand in her mouth but she's definitely not teething, I think it's just a case of her discovering her hands. She takes her dummy out and tries to put it back too (putting back is hit and miss!).

She started looking at her feet too on xmas day, but she seems to have fun forgothen that today. Think we will have to put our foot down about carting her around to the various parents and keep her at home as she was massively overstimulated and was inconsolable when we got home.

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas

Fun forgothen? Forgotten Confused
