Holls, that's brilliant. You are sounding very chilled out and positive! Hope your evening with DP goes OK.

Nazly, I tend to wash everything at 40 deg. Vanish might get it out, but it's quite harsh chemicals. Having said that bibs don't go next to skin so might be less of an issue. Maybe buy a couple of cheap white bibs to use specifically when he has multivit, then you can bleach them when stained.

holls2000 · 05/12/2014 21:54

fate I love you! !!! a bit more chilled than usual at the moment until he has his next lot of jabs then I will be a wreck. if not before. Grin

nazly I do everything at 40 but do add vanish to the wash if poo has been an, erm, issue....

dh said he would be home by 9. I knew he wouldn't be. just glad he is enjoying work at the moment.

lilone1234 · 05/12/2014 23:20

Nazly - I wash muslins, bibs, sleepsuits and vests at 60. They are all cotton so can face that temperature and just don't feel non bio gets anything with bodily fluids/stains clean properly at 40!

We just had big over tired/have wind/still want more milk screaming battle. First time ever that DP has taken over and succeeded to settle her when I couldn't. Of course, I irrationally now feel annoyed about this lol.

CumbrianExile · 05/12/2014 23:36

I think A is the tiniest baby here. 11lb6 at 13 weeks? And only just going up to 3-6 month clothes (which I am not at all upset about...oh no, not me Grin)

I wash everything at 40 too. Not finding it too much of an issue at the mo, but I think if bibs/muslin weren't getting cleaned at that temp then I would do a seperate wash for those. I seem to have plenty!

Hello all I'm back Grin How are you all? I haven't had time to read through the thread yet but will try! Hope you and your DC are all well and happy. Been bit of a blur the last 3 months with the 4dc and barely had a second to myself, even feeding I get about 2 seconds to read something on here then a child turns up, even in the middle of the night... Sophie is doing well, sleeping through at night (touch wood), the first of my DC to do so before a year old so that's made things easier. Unfortunately my 4 and 2 year old do don't though!
We're into a bit of a routine now so hopefully will make things easier, and more time to come on here Grin Its summer here now so lots of time to get out and about.

CumbrianExile · 06/12/2014 00:21

Welcome back donteven. If you dont get through the full thread, at least scroll through the last couple of pages, there is some up to date photos of some cute babies Grin Glad to here Sophie is sleeping through!

TeamEponine · 06/12/2014 01:35

Welcome back donteven! Good to read you again Grin

Think my DD may be the tiniest baby Cumbrian! 9lb 12oz at 11 weeks. She's so petite, people think she is a tiny newborn! She does still fit into some of her newborn clothes, but is mainly in 0-3 months now.

dontevenblink · 06/12/2014 07:01

Thanks cumbrian and team, good to be back :) Just had a look at the photos, they all look so adorable! Lovely to see them, they're all growing so quickly though! That newborn stage goes so quickly, I forget every time - Dh and I were talking about that last night. I have no idea how much Sophie weighs bad mummy as haven't seen our equivalent of a health visitor (called a Plunkett nurse here) for a while, but seeing her on Monday so will update then. Sophie is dainty but very long, she's been in 3-6 month for a while, and has almost outgrown the Tesco sleep suits in the feet and legs! ! People keep commenting that she looks like a doll.

misog2000 · 06/12/2014 15:29

I haven't had Em weighed recently either Blush but she still easily fits in 0-3 month clothes. She is one of the youngest on the thread I think at 10 weeks and is only on the 25th centile so she's quite diddy.

FATEdestiny · 06/12/2014 15:47

Felicity is growing out of 3-6 month sleepsuits in the legs and feet, but she is only 10 weeks Blush

Honeybear30 · 06/12/2014 16:40

I'm avoiding proper clothes to fate! Sleepsuits are so easy.

DS is a big boy at 16lb 2oz at only 12 weeks. And he's actually 9 weeks corrected. The HV's here don't do height but he's 91st centile for weight. Everyone comments how big he is but I love how chunky he is. And he's got those gorgeous creases in his legs. Smile

topmammy · 07/12/2014 06:50

Hello ladies. Not been on in a while. Just been so busy! Hope everyone is doing ok. Interesting reading about the weights and ages of the babies. I think Jessica must be quite small perhaps as she is 17 weeks today and when I got her weighed last Monday she was 12lb 10oz. I think she's on the 25th centile. She was 3 weeks early though.

How's everyone's sleep going? Jessica got into a good routine of going to bed at 10pm and waking around 5 or 6 am then going back to sleep till 9 or 10 am. But since Monday night for no apparent reason she's not done longer than 2 hours 50 minutes and often does 1 hour. It has been such a nasty shock to my body which had got used to more sleep again. So very tired here Xmas Hmm

Taking Jessica for her second swimming lesson today if I can stay awake! She got dunked underwater for a swim last time. It was scary for me but she didn't seem bothered ShockGrin

Nazly · 07/12/2014 09:38

Top I heard they go through that at 4m with broken sleep

With swimming ds is the same, I worried about an scream when he comes out of water but he was just surprised as he kept his breath in there

FATEdestiny · 07/12/2014 12:34

Hi topmammy, so good to hear from you again. Hard for me to compare notes with sleep since Fliss is only 10 weeks. Sleep going really well here though. I breastfeed about 7m then she has a bottle of expressed milk at 10pm. She then isn't fed again until at least 7am.

Sometimes she wakes around 5am but gets the dummy rather than me feeding her, this works fine. Now I know she can go this long overnight, I won't go back to feeding her at night, just settling her if she wakes.

Is Jessica waking to be fed or just waking?

bananapickle84 · 07/12/2014 16:41

Just been away for the weekend so feeling a but tired, though DS did great even though all four of us were in the same room.

We're thinking we might put DS in with DD as he is now sleeping from 6:30pm until 6am which is the same as DD.

I think he is one of the bigger ones on this thread as he was 17lbs last week at 11 weeks old. Puts him on the 98th percentile but he's also that for length. We wanted to check his length to make sure he wasn't getting too chunky!!

I had someone think he was 6 mths old the other day, I was a bit sad as I sometimes think I've missed out a bit on the cute newborn stage.

lilone1234 · 07/12/2014 22:14

Top - I've also heard that babies go through a sleep regression at 4 months - hope it doesn't last too long for you!

Nazly · 08/12/2014 01:52

Eeeeek ; D has a cold, runny nose and eyes all day and since in bed stuffy nose so can't breath properly after a while sleeping and wakes; last wok 12.20 , and just back to sleep now after nearly an hour and half, had fever so gave him one dose Calpol, used Saline drop 5 times within an hour and use aspirator ... He has diarrhoea and he brings up a lot; This is going to be a long night... He's never got sick quite like this so I am a bit worried/tired/upset ? Upset cause he is very clearly tired but can't get sleep cause of breathing issue Sad

TeamEponine · 08/12/2014 02:08

Aww Nazly, poor D and you! Sounds like you are doing everything you can though, so I guess just lots of cuddles and hope it passes quickly. Take care of yourself while taking care of baby. X

topmammy · 08/12/2014 07:20

Yes I've heard of the 4 month sleep regression too. Jessica does seem to want feeding when she wakes. But she is exclusively bf so it could also be a comfort thing maybe. I tried really hard the night before tonight not to feed her when she woke after 40 minutes as I dont want to teach her to get most of her calories in the night and end up with a reversed day/night. But nothing else would soothe her so I gave her the boob every time lol. It's so hard when you're super tired. I also don't want to starve her if she really is hungry and having a growth spurt or something!

Tonight has been a bit better though. She went 5 hours for the first stretch then 2 hours 55 after that so it's been the best night for a week.

Had a great swimming lesson yesterday. She seems to be enjoying it and so am I Smile.

Hope your lo feels better soon Nazly, poor poppet xx

Honeybear30 · 08/12/2014 07:40

How are other bf mummies finding night feeds? (Assuming breast/bottle makes a difference to frequency of feeds?) I'm three months in and suddenly really struggling. DS sleeps from around 8/9 ish and I don't feed him again until 2, but he normally wakes around 12 and I spend a lot of time shushing and head stroking to get back to sleep. Is tempting to just feed him but I know I'm not helping myself. Then feeds again at 5 and 7. I really thought he would start to sleep through longer without me intervening but now I'm just not so sure. I had to intervene to drop the 11pm feed and it took about a week before he slept through it. I don't know if I have the strength to try and drop another, trouble is im so exhausted at either 2 or 5 that I don't think I have the mental capacity to not feed him, it's too easy as I know it will make him go to sleep and I can therefore sleep!

Honeybear30 · 08/12/2014 07:41

Oh and nazly after
Managing our first cold here last week I do feel for you! Hope it passes quickly :) I put a pillow under one end of the mattress in the crib to prop DS up. He kept slipping down so I had to keep scooping him back up but it did seem to help.

Acorncat · 08/12/2014 08:20

Mine still feeds a lot during the night, he was sleeping longer but back to feeding every 3 hours. Saying that, last night he was stirring so I readjusted him back onto his side and held his hand and we both fell back asleep or maybe I slept through his crying so he went 6 hours. After 5 he just won't go back in his cot so he sleeps on me.

He's been really out of sorts yesterday and today, not wanting to feed and really congested and coughing. Don't think it's the cold as no one else has it so wondering if it's a delayed reaction to his jags last week. Got the GP this morning anyway so will ask.

TeamEponine · 08/12/2014 08:25

I'm EBF and nights tend to go something like...
Bed at 8, in her Moses basket.
Feed at 11, try to put her back in her basket, works about 50% of the time.
Feed at 2, try to put her back in her basket, works about 10% of the time, so she's usually in with us by this point!
At 4-5 we have the farting/pooing hour, which requires lots of cuddles and reassurance due to her painful tummy issues. I then change her and feed her. She always stays in with us after this point.
Wakes around 7 for a feed, stays up for about an hour before having a nap.
I'm exhausted and so jealous of those with well sleeping babies EnvyWink

topmammy · 08/12/2014 08:37

Someone who also bf at one of my baby groups said she was told bf is like having a salad and formula is like having fish and chips. You'll obviously sleep better after fish and chips as it's more filling. Someone missed the point a bit though and seemed to think formula was being compared to bad fatty food but that was not the idea at all!

Honey - tbh I've never tried to drop a feed with Jessica. I've just followed her lead. She dropped her 1 to 2 am feed herself eventually. Obviously things aren't quite as good at the moment but I'm hoping she'll go back to normal soon. She does demand feeding usually from around 6 pm till she goes to sleep at 10pm though. I'm often literally unable to leave the sofa. This cluster feeding helps her sleep longer (usually) I'm sure, as well as putting her orders in for the next day. Bf is bloomin hard work sometimes!
