honey he is really smiley but when a camera comes out he is usually very straight faced so all the ones I have are sneaky!

CumbrianExile · 02/12/2014 10:32

Ha, just noticed that most of the ones I have of Aidan are when he is asleep recently!

Cookie - A has between 160 and 180 oz about 4 times a day. Sometimes a little more, but not often. I did worry he wasn't having enough but I checked with the HV and she said as long as he is growing/gaining weight then he was getting enough!

This is a picture of Jessica with her granddad (my dad) last week. My Mum was playing with her at the time with a Lamaze 'Freddie the firefly' toy and she thought it was hilarious!

cookie my 11 week old DS takes 4 bottles a day of 8 ozs (I think that's 240mls??) and he no longer has anything between 7pm and 7am.

Nazly · 02/12/2014 11:56

misog I think she is cute to :)

I think all the babies are cute!

RedToothBrush · 02/12/2014 17:06

Dear Son,

Why is the only time you decide you want to try having a crack at that rolling thing, when you've just done a poonami nappy explosion? I can only forgive you this because you shat all over your football shirt for your father's stupid team. Though I had begrudgingly dressed you in it today to score some points with your Daddy, and you rather scuppered that plan.

Why is it that when you've not had a nap all day and have been grumpy and upset for the last few days as you are clearly teething that you decide to fall asleep on my right arm which is now starting to go completely dead. And of course after having a day of seeing you screaming and trying to pull your gums out, I haven't the heart to move you.

Why son why?

misog2000 · 02/12/2014 17:27

You are right cookie they are all cute Smile

Oh team the football shirt bit did make me chuckle, but I feel for you with the arm, em always falls asleep on me when I'm not quite comfy on the sofa and I end up with a numb bum and achy back, but if I even shift a bit she wakes and screams!

lilone1234 · 02/12/2014 17:32

Red - I know it's not funny, but that made me chuckle! Please save that and present it to your son in his 18th birthday card and see what shade of red he turns! lol. I hope his little gums feel better soon!

Beautiful pictures everyone, so many gorgeous babies, aren't we all so lucky!

I took Molly to her first group today - we did a sensory session after her 12-16 week HV check as DP was with me so thought i'd face the fear with him so not so hard to go on my own next time. Was quite cringey with all the singing and what not and Molly was by far the youngest baby there (other babies more 6-9 months, but makes me feel not so bad about not going to any groups yet). She was mostly good but got hungry and grizzly towards the end but was good to do none the less.

Here's my Molly!

sorry red but you did give me a chuckle. mainly cos I harbour dreams of b shitting all over football shirts.

cookie you're a genius. diprobase. as for food I have a bit of a porker. between 8am and 7pm he will have 5 feeds of anything from 120-240ml and then has started having a 2am and 5.45am feed of about 100ml each.

holls2000 · 02/12/2014 18:34

should he be having fewer feeds? saw hv today and he is still on 75th centile at 13lb 13oz. however massive growth spurt in 4 weeks from 54 to 60cm and from 25th to.50th centile so perhaps thats where all the money I am forking out on milk is going.

he is a right grump today primarily cos he hasn't had much sleep.

TeamEponine · 02/12/2014 19:47

Aw, the babies are all soooo cute! Lovely to see all those pictures Grin

It has been so nice to give little one a nice long bath tonight. First one in six weeks!!! She certainly seems to be enjoying kicking about today. So much easier to feed her too.

bananapickle84 · 02/12/2014 20:15

Now I've got onto the laptop I can see all the cute babies. Here's my chunky monkey!
Red your post did make me smile. C's teeth have been obviously going today. I had thought for a while that they may be causing him problems but today he was screaming while I tried to feed him this afternoon and the only thing that helped was rubbing the teat on his gums.
Also last night I ventured out on a night out and my DH called me saying C was screaming and wouldn't stop. I knew it must be bad as DH is perfectly capable and has the kids a lot. A dose of calpol seemed to do the trick thankfully so I didn't have to come home.
holls I don't think there is a 'right' amount for babies to eat. C is on the 98th and I think may have just bounced off the top of it so I think his body is able to go for longer without food.
Team so glad your LO is doing so well now and is enjoying the freedom. C goes crazy in the bath, he absolutely loves it, I've never seen a baby move so many parts of themselves in one go!

Cute pictures every one and funny letter Red :) are you writing him letters frequently? :)

Ds is 17lb8oz at 16w but corrected age is 12.5w. We started on 50th on the growth chart then dropped to 25th by two weeks, then went back up to 50th, then up to 75th and today he was on 91th... I am glad because the number of times he is sick and the amount of milk he brings up some days keep making me worried but obviously he is taking what he needs

KitKat1985 · 02/12/2014 21:31

I'm beginning to wonder if Jessica is teething, even though it seems way too early. She's drooling lots and sucking on her fist constantly, seemingly not because she's hungry. And, well, she's just been a right grumpy madam at the moment. Sigh.

RedToothBrush · 02/12/2014 21:31

These photos are awesome. Love them.

Glad I've made some of you smile. I hadn't thought of writing DS letters but that's a nice idea. I might do a few more.

My little monkey was just a teeny 12lbs 1 last week at his 12 week weigh in (between 9th and 25th centiles). Yet he's on the 98th centile for length and 75th for his head!

He was really off his food at the weekend and has been really grizzly in the evenings, when he had previously been snoozing. Rosy red cheeks, not sleeping as well as he had been. Niagara Falls descending from his mouth in drool. As well as the gnawing of his fists. So I'm pretty convinced its teething. Plus he's suddenly been dead clingy and looking for cuddles. Poor mite. I'm really hoping it doesn't last too long, but I'm worried it can take weeks for his teeth to come through. I don't like seeing him like this.

On the flipside, his vomiting really seems to have calmed down in the last week or so, and his burps are generally coming up much easier which is a relief.

RedToothBrush · 02/12/2014 21:35

Kitkat, my HV said that although the information suggests teething is after 4 months, she tends to see it much earlier and its not uncommon to start around three months old. Certainly DS seems to be playing teething bingo with his symptoms, so I wouldn't rule it out.

KitKat1985 · 03/12/2014 04:40

Hmm, looks like we may be in the same boat then Red. I also did some googling and like you say teething seems to vary quite a bit, and anytime between 3-12 months seems possible. Oh and Jessica was just starting to sleep better and now we're back to regular nighttime wakings these past few days (hence why posting at this ridiculous time). The hardest bit though is now unhappy and tearful she's been. I feel that we've only just started to leave the misery of colic behind us and I've had my happy baby back, and now we're on this. Only difference was colic was just really in the evening. This was all bloody day yesterday. Sobs.

P.S. Sorry meant to say I love the letter Red, and also thanks to everyone for the baby pics. They are all fab.

RedToothBrush · 03/12/2014 08:51

The thing I'm finding frustrating, is DS is struggling with the teething aids because he's so young. I've got a couple of the ones you put in the fridge, which do seem to help him, but he struggles with it as his mouth is too small and he lacks the ability to hold it yet. He seems to prefer my fingers much more (he's been screaming and crying, then has had short gnaw on my finger which calms him and sends him to sleep). In general there seems to be a lack of advice on what you can do to ease teething before they have weaned anyway.

DS at least seems to be back on his food. On Saturday he only managed about 450mls when he's been having 750ml, so it was noticeable and quite worrying, so it was very understandable that he woke in the night screaming for food and if anything I was relieved he did.

We only managed to persuade him to have the 450ml after we discovered that by cooling the bottle teat in the freezer for a couple of minutes, it seemed to relieve his discomfort. It was awful seeing him so hungry yet not wanting to eat.

The last couple of days he's not been quite as bad as that though thankfully.

lollystick · 03/12/2014 09:08

My DS is 13 weeks - doing very well & on the cusp of sleeping through .... I think! Goes down at 10pm, dream feed at 2am only taking 1-2oz then sleep till 5:30am for 3-4oz & sleep again till 8am
Tempted to try a rusk in the last 9:30pm bottle to fill him until 5:30am missing out the 2am feed. Will probably wait till he's 16 weeks though if he's not doing the night naturally by then.

Also going to buy a play ring as he's desperately trying to sit up on his own & holds neck well. Not mastered rolling over yet. ..any tips on how to encourage it would be most appreciated!

CumbrianExile · 03/12/2014 09:31

A also seems to be teething. Its so hard to know how to help him, and like you Red I have noticed the teething aids all seem so big. Usually he chomps on his dummy or my fingers haha.
He has started eating less since the teething started, but I think he is still getting enough. Although sometimes now it seems to be in smaller chunks rather than all at once!
He is generally pretty good with it though, not too much screaming. Until last night that is, when his dad was looking after him while I went to the football (yes, I am the football fan in this house and bought A his first kit Grin) and I got a text as I was coming out of the ground that he had pretty much screamed for the first 90 mins I was out of the house! He had his jabs earlier in the day though, so not sure if it was that or the teething, but apparently a mix of Bonjela, Calpol and cuddles helped calm him.

cookielove · 03/12/2014 11:14

I think Eli will sleep through soon, he seems on the verge of it and has managed it a couple times. Fx it happens soon. Although I think he woke up last night cause he was cold :(

Seriously these babies are too cute.

Love the letter :)

Yy to the teething, Eli chews on his hands dribbles madly and knaws on my finger a lot. But won't use any teethers. He still isn't picking up toys I hope that comes soon.

He is 16 weeks, 10 weeks adjusted and weighs 14lb 3 oz.

RedToothBrush · 03/12/2014 11:49

Does anyone else have a baby who LOVES being changed and thinks its the best play time in the world? DS gets really overexcited with it. He loves the change mat because its slippery so tries to slide up it like he's doing the backstroke.

This morning, after his antics yesterday, he's decided to make it extra fun by turning it into a proper swimming pool, complete with splashing about and needing to be dried off with a towel.

He's peed everywhere before but it was the glee and delight he had in flapping around in his own piss that's got me today.

I hope he doesn't start making too much of a habit of doing this though. Two days on the trot is more than sufficient.

holls2000 · 03/12/2014 12:21

I thought b was teething v dribbly and fist munchy. mentioned to gp who looked at me like I was a bit nutty.

our sleep routine has changed. instead of feeds at 7, 10, 2/3,5,7 we now go 7, 1.30/2ish, 5.40ish, 8. hope this will go to 7, 10, 6 at some stage!!
