Back in Hungary. Trip went ok. O slept 10 hours in the car on the way there but nearly nothing on the way back. She was watching cartoons endlessly. Court case was fine and done, cemetery was just heart breaking. I took some pictures of O putting flowers on his grave, no small child should ever need to do that. It's just so so sad. We visited his family and although his parents behaved a bit strange, the rest of the family was very welcoming. His 19 yr old niece had me in tears when she gave O a couple of toys which she got as a small child from Leo. 2 barbies, some soft toys, some cards, a recorder were among them, I remembered one or two as we bought them together. We went to see his best friend too. Overall I coped very well but feeling drained right now.

Elizadoesdolittle · 25/10/2014 08:57

lily it's no surprise you feel drained. I'm glad that it went well. I just can't imagine how it must feel. Take it easy xx

StuntNun · 25/10/2014 09:05

Can you take a while to recover Lily, I'm sure the trip took it out of you.

MsJupiter · 25/10/2014 11:34

Oh Lily that is heartbreaking but you obviously coped very well. It will be lovely for O later on as well to have the photographs and know that he was a part of her life.

Wanda that is great news and I am impressed hungry reading about your cooking.

I am in the hairdressers! First time in a year. My hair is v thick and long and I can't wait to have it chopped. I did consider attempting the MN haircut earlier in the year but wasn't brave enough.

Wandathewindfairy · 25/10/2014 11:39

What is the MN haircut?

MsJupiter · 25/10/2014 11:45

MN Haircut

PetiteRaleuse · 25/10/2014 11:47

Apparently gives you a mullet if you mess it up

MsJupiter · 25/10/2014 11:58

That's what I was scared of!

Wandathewindfairy · 25/10/2014 12:13

I am going to ask to be turned into
Katie Holmes when I go to the hairdresser.

I never never never take a photo of a haircut to the hairdresser as I have memories of that scene in Educating Rita when the old woman takes a photo of Lady Diana to the hairdresser and says " I want to look like that" if anyone is as old as me and remembers that.

But today I will be that woman.

Thanks everyone. We are watching frozen right now and just waiting till it's 7 o'clock so can put a tired little girl to bed. I will follow her shortly after I think.

StuntNun · 25/10/2014 15:45

Well DH is back from his worldwide adventure (Canada and China) and we have a whole day together as a family before the rest of us are off to Manchester for half term. He brought me back some genuine Chinese tea with incomprehensible writing on and it smells and tastes like cabbages! Yummy... not!

Am about to settle down in front of the fire (first of the season) with a glass of red and a good book. Kids not in bed but am just going to let them watch their film (Babe, for the third time today!) and relax. Bliss.

MsJupiter · 25/10/2014 18:25

Crikey Wanda I read that as Katie Hopkins for a sec. Katie Holmes much nicer. I took a picture of Fearne Cotton Blush

Zamboni · 25/10/2014 19:10

Glad you had good hols PR.

Wanda, when do the girls arrive?

Lily, how heartbreaking to picture O putting flowers on L's grave. I imagine you'll need some time to recover , how draining it must feel.

I've done that before Jupiter, and was then disappointed when I didn't also have the face and the figure to match the photo!

Massive first world problem alert. Parents are visiting and DM came with us to shoe shop. She offered to buy the two new Clarks shoes I was buying and I managed to offend her by saying no. DPs are financially comfortable and like to help out. I'm very grateful but sometimes I feel a bit infantised by such gestures. Things are a tad tight for us at the mo (roll on DD starting free school next year!) but the DC will always have what they need and I guess my pride was a bit dented by her lovely gesture and I may have said no, I can afford their shoes more forcefully than I intended. Am feeling like a twat because I know it was offered from love and I was an ungrateful snappy bitch in response. Ahhhh.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/10/2014 19:23

Just apologise zamboni if you think she was really offended. IME people love giving, and the offer was probably made with the best intention.

Zamboni · 25/10/2014 19:36

Oh it absolutely was PR. Just feel cross for not getting that at the time. I've said sorry.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/10/2014 19:50

There you go then nothing more you can do just let it go and it will soon be forgotten x

PetiteRaleuse · 25/10/2014 20:13

My moment of bliss was short lived. Kids playing up spectacularly tonight.

Wandathewindfairy · 25/10/2014 21:23

zamboni just apologise and leap on Her and give her a massive cuddle. She is your mummy. Not just does she want to help but she wants to buy stuff for her grandchildren. Normal. I know what you mean about being infantisrd, I feel it all the time. I think they think I am 17 still. So I just remind them I am really old. My dad has just offered to help me out with something pretty big and important and I have gratefully accepted. Had I asked him to help me out with this item 6 years ago I wouldn't be going through it now.

I also know zamboni ap out snapping or saying things in the wrong tone before I realised i did it. Hugs. Thanks

Girls arrive tomorrow. I have have just had a long soak in the bath and a wonderful facepack from the seaweed baths in town so I am all relaxed. I have climbed Into bed with my book, but hoping dH comes up as he won't get much attention this week.

Hope you might finally have some quiet time prxx

Zamboni · 26/10/2014 04:43

Anyone else 'enjoying' the clock change? We've been up since 4am - even though it feels the same as usual, seeing 4am is beyond the pale. Hope it doesn't take S long to adjust!

Lily311 · 26/10/2014 04:50

O is still asleep. She got the memo about the clocks changing. Good girl.

fruitpastilles · 26/10/2014 05:40

Ahh yes, that old extra hour in bed everyone was on about....... S was up at 4:45 instead of 5:45. Lovely.
