Feeling much better thanks! have had a lovely day spent in the garden with the family in the sunshine. Hope the weather continues like this for the week as dh is on holiday and it normally rains when he is off!

Glad to hear you are feeling better YF.

I have just had the most wonderful long lie. I went to bed at 9pm last night as I was exhausted. Johnny woke at 5am so I crawled into the spare bed and he fed for half an hour. I didn't think he would go back to sleep, but he did and he slept until 8.15am!!!!!!! I can tell when he is breastfeeding whether it's for hunger or comfort by the way he does it and this was a hunger one for sure! Later, he wolfed his huge breakfast down, had some more then some cows milk too. I think he is on a mega growth spurt. He has just all of a sudden burst out of all his 12-18m clothes and the next size up doesn't seem that big for him either.

I have been so tired this last week. I think my sore throat thing was the glandular fever I had ten years ago resurfacing and the tiredness is part of that. We had a manic weekend too which didn't help.

After Johnny had his breakfast, he was pretty covered, so I thought it would be nice if he showered with me. (I normally shower before he eats, but we are out of sorts today). Anyone tried this? I'm not trying it again!! He wouldn't sit on the shower floor and was clinging on to me for dear life. He attached himself to my boob at every opportunity and I couldn't wash my hair or anything! I came out of the shower just as manky as when I went in!!

stinkymalinki · 03/04/2007 14:09

Ah Mawbroon, thats why its baths all the way in this house.

Mind you, i don't even get a bath in peace very often - Joey usually tries clambering in with me even if he's fully dressed!

ELF1981 · 03/04/2007 20:07

LOL Evelyn baths with me most days too! She is really good in the bath though, will sit and play by herself for ages!

Yokefleet · 04/04/2007 09:34

Tom has had a couple of showers with daddy but with dh holding him all the time and me stood on the outside pulling faces! but he loves his bath time and will stay in as long as possible

We are going to have a day off gardening and go to the beach today whilst the sun is shining, have a nice day everyone

DontlookatmeImshy · 04/04/2007 20:50

lol at your shower babies. Dsloves climbing in and shutting himself in but we haven't tried him with the water on yet.

He had his MMR yesterday and is already having a reaction. Poor little fella has a temperature, has clung to me all afternoon, falling asleep on me while I'm carrying him which he never does anymore when he's well. He went off to bed fairly easily but keeps waking up. I think we're in for a rough night

mawbroon · 05/04/2007 08:38

Hooray that you finally got the MMR DLAMIS! Johnny was miserable for about 3 days after, but then became right as rain pretty quickly. Any word of being referred for his allergy?

Re the showers, I have showered Johnny himself if we have been staying somewhere with no bath and he seemed to like it, and also he doesn't mind the shower at the swimming pool. Baths are fine together though, but they do end up as a feeding fest for him. Saying that, he can hardly feed in the bath for laughing. For some reason it is hilarious!!

We are heading off for a few days away today which should be nice. We are driving at 7pm so that JOhnny can sleep on the way as he now gets crabbit on long car journeys through the day. I hope I can stay awake until we get there! Hope you all have a lovely easter.

DontlookatmeImshy · 05/04/2007 20:41

Well he has been a bit better today. He had a rough night from 7.00pm-10.30pm waking up everyhour but after that he only woke once till it was time to get upso it wasn't so bad. We took him to a local lake to feed the ducks and he had a great time throwing the bread in the water (in between eating somehimself lol)but he has gone to bed an hour earlier.

No word on a referall yet. I'll have to chase it up (why do ww have to constantly nag to get anywhere!),but they don't seem very worried/bothered as he didn't have an anaphylactic reaction. We did have another(accidental) inident last week. I was changing his nappy and he was rubbing his face and eyes. Within seconds his whole face was red and blotchy. I knew what it was straight away, had a panic and shoved some Piriton down him while wondering how the hell he'd gonehis hands on egg! Fortunately the Piriton worked straight away. The only thing Ican think of was that I'd mixed some egg up earlier and when he was 'helping' meload the dishwasher he's touched the spoon with the mix on. Can't believe I was so careless
Atleast I know the Piriton does it's job.

Yokefleet · 07/04/2007 19:28

DLAMIS Hope your little one is feeling better now
MB Hope you are enjoying your few days away.

We have been on a coastal walk today and I put loads of sun cream on dh and ds forgot myself and I now look like this very red indeed
Hope you are all having a lovely warm easter break

OP posts:
ELF1981 · 08/04/2007 14:42

happy Easter all!

Hmmm - beware of little ears. I was sat in the garden last night with DH and Evelyn, we were eating strawberries. Not sure what DH and I were chatting about but I said "Jesus!" and then, clear as day, Evelyn piped up "Jesus!". Okay, so hers sounded more like HeHus but it was still identifiable. Dammit!

Hope all with poorly babies are better, hope all with sunburn (sun has been very hot!) are feeling more refreshed.

Yokefleet · 08/04/2007 18:16

ELF Bless!! still waiting for Thomas to say some more words, I'm sure that when he starts we will have loads all at once! I'm still red as a tomato used Thomas's sun block today so hopefully I haven't caught any more sun.

OP posts:
ELF1981 · 09/04/2007 12:00

YF - Hows the sun burn?

Yokefleet · 09/04/2007 18:05

elf I'm still very sore on my shoulders although my nose has faded thankfully! I am just relieved that I put plenty of sun cream on Thomas. Thanks for asking

OP posts:
DontlookatmeImshy · 09/04/2007 20:54

Hope the sunburns better soon. Ouch

We were out all dayon Sunday. Fortunately ds was mostly in the buggy with the raincover shading him. Dh however is a little bit thin on top iykwim lol and has got a bit of a red head lol.

ELF1981 · 10/04/2007 13:10

ooohh, bless, did you guys know that JARM is pg again (formally JessicaandRebeccasMummy)

Yokefleet · 10/04/2007 18:57

elf I didn't know that! God I can't imagine expecting again yet!!

OP posts:
ELF1981 · 10/04/2007 20:05

Noticed her on a Due in... thread and was nosy!

mawbroon · 12/04/2007 21:03

Yes, I noticed JARM on the due in Dec thread too, but I didn't want to gossip!

We had a lovely few days down south visiting. I spent rather a lot of time eating and sitting about in the sunshine. Johnny didn't sleep through for one single night when we were away which was annoying. He has gone right back to sleeping through now we are home thank goodness and last night was 7pm until 7.30am.

I bought Johnny his first pair of shoes today. They are size 3.5 G (is that big/small/same as everyone else?) and they now have a hole in them from crawling on the paving stones in the garden. We will be taking them back tomorrow. They are cruising shoes which are meant to do for crawling too I believe. We have a Little Tykes climbing frame and chute thing in the garden. If I lift Johnny up onto the platform, he can turn himself round and launch feet first down the slide. He's not scared that boy!!

Hope everyone is enjoying this weather!

stinkymalinki · 12/04/2007 22:00

Joey was a 6F last time he got his feet measured, but i was told that is unusually large for a child of his age! I hope you get the faulty shoes sorted Mawbroon.

Joey spent all weekend mastering the slide in my neighbour's garden. He took ages to suss the steps out, then all of a sudden it 'clicked' and he was able to climb up all the steps then slide down again without any assistance!(well, with me lurking behind him in case he decided to fall off backwards!) The only thing is, we were looking at getting him a toddler climbing frame thing for our garden, but i'm now worried he'll find it too basic as the slide bit is weeny compared to the one he was going down Sunday (which is recommended for 3 yrs plus!!)

SM x

(PS. secretly v re JARM's news - we've now been 'officially' trying for 2 months with no joy)

mawbroon · 12/04/2007 22:24

Hmm, I don't think they were faulty, just not the right shoes for the job. The rubbery bit doesn't come up high enough and he has actually worn a hole right through the leather . I will go down the "not fit for purpose" route if they give me any hassle, given that cruising is a mixture of walking and crawling.

Yes, also at the news. I am impatient though, once we decided to go for it, I want to be pg NOW. Have worked out that if this month is the month then I will be due on 1st Jan! Crap timing eh. Wonder when they would fit me in for my elective in between all the staff parties?

stinkymalinki · 12/04/2007 22:44

I know what you mean Mawbroon - sadly, patience isn't a virtue of mine! I was keeping my fingers crossed for this month, but i can already feel the beginnings of the dreaded PMT, so i'll just keep trying. So frustrating tho, as Joey was conceived completely by accident!

Yokefleet · 13/04/2007 07:50

mb sm hoping this will be your month!
I didn't feel I just want to get our house finished before we start trying again. We conceived first time last time & I'm not very patient either so I aren't looking forward to trying I just want to be pg without all the stresses & worries... is that possible!! lol
re feet Thomas is a 4G at the moment.

OP posts:
ELF1981 · 13/04/2007 08:22

Evelyn's feet are 5E atm, when she first had her sheoes she was a 4F

Good luck to those TTC

DontlookatmeImshy · 13/04/2007 21:46

lol another one here a bit at JARMS news, although we postponed starting trying until this month as last month would've been a 25th Dec due date.Of course it'll probably take forever now.

Ds loves big slides too and will even comedown headfirst on his front!!! although we're trying not to encourage it too much!

Dh has a week off work so we are taking ds out alot. We've been to a zoo, aquarium (he loved the sharks eek), the seaside, but at the moment the thing that grabs his attention the most is birds. He is fascinated by them. And chasing the pigeons kept him occupied for ages this afternoon which was handy when mummy and daddy needed to sit down for a rest lol

Yokefleet · 13/04/2007 21:59

DLAMIS Sounds like you all have had a lovely week together Good luck with the TTC.

Have a good weekend everyone!!
