I gave birth 4.5 weeks ago now and bled for 3 weeks, I also passed a couple of huge clots during this time, bigger than a ping pong ball but was advised this was probably a bit of after birth.
2 days ago I started to bleed lightly again, then woke up this morning to bright red, heavyish bleeding and stomach cramps.
The midwife has said it sounds like my period... so soon? I struggle to trust what she says as she assured me I wasn't in labour before giving birth just 4 hours later!
I'm worried my body may still have not cleared away the after-birth. Has anyone else experienced anything similar in regards to bleeding and what was the outcome? Also, how soon after birth did you get your period? I was told it would be around 6 weeks initially.
