Thanks another, I've never heard of that. I'll keep an eye on her and do the steamy thing in the morning.

FelixFelix · 18/10/2014 09:56

Those talking about the waterproof all in one things - just seen this on Hotukdeals for a regatta insulated waterproof suit thing. Half price reduced from £35 to £17.50. Free delivery using code SHA5. Thought someone might find it useful Smile

How's sylvie this morning? That sounds like h. If it's not bothering him we just leave it but when it's bad we use his inhaler

I've bought a ridiculous amount of Christmas presents already and booked his party entertainer (not 1 until feb!). We're getting this little ride on www.mothercare.com/ELC-Easy-Wheels-Ride-On---Duck/135970,default,pd.html?singlehit=true tried it in mothercare and he loved it

FelixFelix · 18/10/2014 10:21

The duck ride on is cute!! I'm really struggling with what to do for Sylvie's birthday. Both of our families live two hours away in separate directions and the same with our friends. And it's the weekend before Christmas!

She was bad still this morning and she's got really bad nappy rash too Sad I did the steamy bathroom thing but we haven't got a shower, just a bath so it didn't get very steamy Grin She wouldn't eat her porridge earlier but is having milk so I'm not too worried. Just generally grumpy and whingey!

Gettingthroughthis · 18/10/2014 16:25

How often are you feeding the babies? At nursery (4 days a week) h was breakfast 8.15 ish, snack 10am, lunch 11.30am, sleep 12-2, snack 2pm, dinner 3.30/4pm. That's 5 times a day plus 2 day time bottles and a night time one! I've had him weighed and he's actually gone down percentiles so not to worried and he's started sleeping through since being there apart from last night! so not sure whether to say anything? He's 8.5 months

FelixFelix · 18/10/2014 19:31

Getting I read that it's common for babies to lose a bit of weight or their weight will stabilise at this age as they become more mobile and eat solids/drop milk feeds, so I wouldn't worry too much. I haven't had S weighed since she was about 6 months Shock must get round to it.

S has breakfast at around 8.30/9, milk at 11ish, dinner between 12-1, milk at 3ish, tea between 5-6 then milk before bed at 7. I don't give her snacks, am I meant to? Blush

Just drove all round leeds trying to find a damn vapour plug in thing! Managed to get one at the huge asda as morrisons and tesco didn't have them and the pharmacy man at boots wouldn't sell me one as they don't sell shop stock after 6 Hmm

TobyLerone · 18/10/2014 19:41

M has breakfast at 8am, BF at 9am, nap, lunch at 12ish, BF at 2pmish, nap, dinner at 6.30pm, BF at about 7.30pm before bed.

Then between 2 and 8 feeds in the night.

I was actually thinking I ought to fit in a snack after her 2nd nap because I wonder if she's too hungry by dinner time. She often grumps in her highchair and plays with the food on her tray rather than eating it. But if I give her something quick and easy to eat, like a yogurt or banana, she'll often eat her dinner afterwards.

BookTart · 18/10/2014 19:49

P has bf 6.30, breakfast at 7.30, bf 9, nap 9.30, snack 10.30ish, lunch 12, bf 12.30, nap 1ish, bf 3, dinner 5. She also could probably do with an afternoon snack, but it is bloody hard fitting everything in!

Had a pisser of a day mucking about with the local NCT sale. I was selling, but couldn't help out in the end so I think they were a bit cross with me. Only about two thirds of my stuff sold, and the bits I've got back are a bit surprising - brand new snow suits, a swing, several Gro bags. People bought all the tat though :)

PIL are coming for the day tomorrow. We only see them every 3 months, so it is a bit of an occasion. MIL is a truly lovely woman, but is very houseproud (to the point that she went PT at work in order to have her house' properly clean'). I've caught her 'just giving my kitchen a quick wipe' twice Blush. My house is properly dirty, so I'll be up at dawn to clean. When we went to them in the summer, she paraded P up and down the High Street showing her off, which was lovely, but when I was introduced to her friends more than one of them did a head tilt and said "are you coping a bit better now?" Angry Last visit, she brought Sunday lunch for the two of them in multiple Tupperwares, then reheated them here and ate them in front of us. That is odd, isn't it? I have offered to cook dinner tomorrow, to save her the trouble...

TobyLerone · 18/10/2014 19:55

I saw you pulling into the NCT sale as we were leaving, book. There was some right old tat there this time. I was talking to Laura and she said the same. I saw one of your grobags but it was obviously no good to me!

Have fun cleaning! Tomorrow is DS's 15th birthday. We're going out to breakfast. He wants to go somewhere he can have ice cream Hmm
Then he's going skateboarding while I rush about like a mad thing cleaning for the family onslaught, making dinner, baking the brownies he's requested instead of a cake...

Joy!

BookTart · 18/10/2014 20:10

I thought the sale was a bit rubbish this time as well. I won't bother next time as there was virtually nothing bigger than 6-9 months. The NCT wangs on about being for the first 1000 days, but around here it really only seems to be interested in the first few months.

Take DS to the American Diner for massive pancakes and ice cream! Mmmmmm.

I forgot to say, felix is right, some babies do lose weight when they start moving around more. P lost a whole 1/2 lb, which is a bit much. She's not a brilliant eater though, so I guess it was to be expected. Her reflux specialist wasn't bothered by it at all.

Gettingthroughthis · 18/10/2014 20:22

Sorry meant to say I'm actually worried about him getting fat not losing weight as I think 5 times is too much? Which is why it surprised me his percentile went down

BookTart · 18/10/2014 20:27

I'd think it was alright getting, but if you're concerned it is a bit much then maybe ask them to drop one of the snacks? P (9 months) doesn't eat solids that frequently, but she's just not that fussed about eating at the moment. If he's losing weight then maybe just keep an eye on it and see how it goes?

Gettingthroughthis · 18/10/2014 20:32

That's what I was thinking but apparently he crawls over to the little table ready for his snacks and meals and if I said he couldn't have one he'd be at the table watching everyone else eat. I think he's getting a bit of a pot belly but think I'll just monitor his weight

TobyLerone · 18/10/2014 20:37

I think you're right, book, about not much bigger than 6-9 months. We got a backpack carrier, a doorway bouncer and a few items of clothes but really nothing to write home about.

M hasn't been officially weighed since May. I did weigh her on the scales they had by the car seats in Mothercare last week, and she was 8kg. This puts her just above the 25th centile, where she's been all along.

She woke up after my last post, absolutely inconsolable. Screaming like she was in pain. I fought some Calpol into her, and it really was a fight. Eventually I managed to rock her back to sleep, but she was waking up screaming every minute or so. Poor thing :( it's so horrible when they can't tell you what hurts.

TobyLerone · 18/10/2014 20:39

Oh, and the American Diner is exactly where DS has requested to go for breakfast :o

TarkaTheOtter · 18/10/2014 20:45

getting pot belly is fine at this age. They tend to grow wide then shoot up so often look a bit porky right before a growth spurt. I wouldn't worry about his intake - sounds about normal to me.

BookTart · 18/10/2014 20:46

Poor M Sad - 2nd tooth? P's 4th one still hsn't come through. She's forever rubbing her face, and her nose is constantly streaming. I failed at Calpol so any times that I gave her a paracetamol suppository last night. Worked brilliantly, but I forgot to do it tonight.

Poor babies. Mouth pain is just awful.

TobyLerone · 18/10/2014 20:55

I'd be surprised if it was her 2nd tooth, given that the 1st one was so easy for her, but I can't think what else it could be. Hopefully you're right. Better teeth than anything else being wrong.

Poor thing. I can just hear her snivelling in her sleep every now and again over the monitor :(

TobyLerone · 18/10/2014 20:57

And you braved the suppository? Well done!

Gettingthroughthis · 18/10/2014 21:08

Thank you tarka

toby some of h many teeth were fine whereas others were awful. Hopefully the calpol works

H has got eye infection in both eyes. Doesn't seem to bother him too much apart from maybe itchy but really yellow snot coming out of them constantly. Apart from wiping with water is there anything I can do? Have a doctors apt on Wednesday so will ask if still bad then

FelixFelix · 18/10/2014 21:17

Is Sylvie the only one without any teeth now? Blush

Naturegirl82 · 18/10/2014 21:24

O's teeth seem to be coming through in an odd order. She now has 3 bottom teeth with a fourth just breaking through but only 1 top tooth at the moment.

Dh has just cooked me a delicious 4 course meal for our wedding anniversary complete with pink bubbles Smile

Took O to get her first pair of proper shoes today. I don't think the shoe fitter believed us when we said she was walking as she couldn't get the hang of them at all, kept trying to take one step and falling over! haha! She kept saying they need to be walking more than 20 steps for the proper shoe and did we think the soft soled one would be better! We bought the proper shoes and she is getting the hang of them now!

Naturegirl82 · 18/10/2014 21:25

Felix my friends baby only got teeth after her first birthday

Gettingthroughthis · 18/10/2014 21:29

felix I wouldn't wish them through. H looks ridiculous with 8! (I really do love him even though I've called him fat and toothy today!)

Angelesque · 19/10/2014 00:27

So jealous of all you walkers! F not even crawling yet...

Poss TMI alert... I'm never ill, but was away this week - mostly at Center Parcs but at friend's house last Sunday. Felt ill Sunday afternoon so retired to bed at about 6pm... Slept fitfully before vomming copiously all over their brand new John Lewis mattress Blush

Next day I discovered I had my period for the first time since F (ie 18 months). Wondering if that's why I was so ill...?
