stunt sounds wonderful, enjoy. You really deserve it.

We are going to Alton Towers in August. Going to be mega busy but as long as E gets on the in the night garden ride she'll be a happy bunny. We are also going to peppa pig world (went last yr but E had no clue as to what was going on) and she's quite into pp now.

pennie lovely to hear from you. I think the fact that M can sign over 100 words is fantastic. As stunt mentioned it's all about communication at this age. I can understand why you are worried though but I'm sure she will get there. Great that you are getting support from speech and language.

izzy hope j is ok now.

Hello.

Today p has been mostly obsessed with feet and had a shot in a fire engine.

And is now watching Ben and Holly.

Exciting day!

Homemade crabcakes for tea = big hit. Think I enjoyed them the least Blush

Pass, how does one bag a ride in a fire engine?!

Dh off out to the cinema, so me and the girl are chilling out before an early night.

To the lady at the checkouts, thank you.

It reduced me to tears as she said slow down. You've probably worked 10 hours and your now food shopping in a suit with a small boy on your hip to go home and cook dinner. Slow down he is beautiful and your doing an awesome job.

Support comes from the oddest places

One takes a small child to the park which overlooks the fire station and encourages said child to stare in while they are all washing the engine

Hello Pennie Smile Please stay Thanks

Good girl P, facilitating a ride in a rig for mummy Grin

Pikz I would encourage you to write those words down, capture that moment of kindness and keep it in your purse. You are amazing Smile

Day 4 of fast, and I am calling time. DH has come down with a bug and I am feeling a tad feeble. I have had home-made multigrain bread with added seeds and Goji berries, with organic houmous. It was awesome Smile I have home made veg and lentil soup all ready for lunch tomorrow, and have shifted 7lb. My skin is clear, headaches gone, and I am starting 5:2.

Wow vq that is an impressive weightloss and good skin result too.

My MN cookbook arrived today. My name is in it. Well. My username. Didn't realise testers were being credited. Thank god the recipe I tested isn't in it it was vile. I did it twice as I thought I had messed up but both attempts went in the bin.

Sadly they were not calendar model types but beggars can't be choosers!

Your juice diet really does sound amazing, vq? At 7ib lost I am almost tempted myself. Did you follow a particular plan?

And pennie it is lovely to see people pop in and out.

VQ well done Mrs!

Pennie please pop in whenever you get a chance, in a few months the gap between earlier and later speakers will have closed. I can empathise (but on walking rather than talking) as j didn't walk until 17 months - nearly 9 months after the first and the wait was agonising at times Thanks

Pass and a fireman sitting in a tree....

I will put something on FB about the juice thing in a couple of days. It seems illness is visiting the palace again. DH, DD2 and J so far. DD1 seems fine, and I feel a tad fragile. I had been feeling terrific on the juice so think it may be a bug approaching. You would think with the gallons on Vit C I have been consuming I would be fine.

Pikz that is so lovely Smile

I have this week off work and had such a lovely day with O today. It made me realise how much I'm missing out on - he's incredibly fun and cheeky. We had a brilliant time chasing each other round the park. He has his first settling in session at nursery today - just a short visit but he loved it. After we had been there five minutes, he was off exploring so I left him to it for half an hour. He didn't even care that I had gone - the nursery workers commented on how confident he was and was bossing them all around Grin We are going to build up the length of time he stays there until he starts properly, 3 mornings a week, in a couple of weeks, but I know he is going to be absolutely fine Smile Off for a day trip to the seaside tomorrow - O's first time Smile

GT after your post earlier I was examining how I talk to J and I usually describe what's happening and say the same thing over and over again. Today he was chucking a stone into the kiddies pool and I was getting it out for him to throw again so I was saying, "Where's the stone, there's the stone on the bottom, Mummy's getting the stone, here's the stone, are you going to throw the stone?" So he's hearing the noun over and over again to learn the correct word but he's also hearing speech in whole sentences. It's really easy to do and you can do it anytime, just describe whatever you're doing or can see in short sentences. The other thing I do is to repeat whatever he says, or whatever I think he says. That way he gets feedback that his words are being understood and hears the correct version if he isn't pronouncing it correctly. He has recently started saying hello but it's just the pitch of hello with no h or l sound, he says eh-oh. So whenever he says it I say hello back to him, he'll get it soon enough I'm sure.

Evening everyone :) Hope you're all okay! Today has been a productive one, which is always good!

There's a few pages to catch up with so i'll just get on with it lol

vq you are very dedicated with your juice thingy, that's for sure! Just caught up with your later posts and you've done brilliantly. You have far better willpower than I have i am sat here eating biscuits hoping they shift me 7lbs. I have just told dp about your amazing efforts and he has suggested we both do it. I am so shocked I don't know what to say. I am, however, stuffing biscuits in as fast as I can in case he takes them away!

I know they're belated now wanda but big hugs, I am sure nothing was meant by your DH and you can't help the way you feel sometimes because of your past. My dp is massively overcautious with e, I am not so much but I am very uptight compared to my mum who is much more relaxed about e's safety. Obviously she doesn't leaves knives about or anything silly but for example she's got a big concrete step outside the back door and there's a stairgate and she had had e for a couple of hours and when I went to collect him he went to go down the steps and I stopped him, but she said he could do it. I hovered and flapped but he was fine. In said situation, Dp would get up each time and help him, I had to force myself to sit still and let him do it on his own and mum wouldn't bat an eyelid at him. I am rambling now but what I am saying is have some more hugs and I hope you're feeling better about it today

We don't eat out often, but on the few occasions we have E is quite good. He gets bored sat waiting but I walk him around because I don't want to upset the other diners

wow bp i don't think you're bu at all on that one :/ I would also do a pr and tell mr pig to be getting a grip

hiiiiii detective! Have missed you! FWIW i haven't noticed you being an angry status updater or anything on facebook! what a weirdo (not you)

hiiiii horsey have missed you too!

ignores meters chat and the fact I have them

hmm lily what is date guy up to?

izzy poor J, such a small bit of chocolate too :( glad he's ok now though

aw gt sorry FH is being an arse :(

sounds like you're having a fab time stunt brill :) When pregnant I managed to only drink 2 cups of tea a day and if I had any pepsi i would have less tea. In the very early days I felt as sick as a dog if I had coffee/tea so I think I temporarily weaned myself off of it without meaning to. I will have to try again. I know if/when we start trying for number 2 I will need to drink a hell of alot less coffee/pepsi. I would be shocked at the number of mugs of coffee I drink per day I think if i actually logged mfp properly like i'm supposed to

E smells lovely after a bath or in the morning but my word he has whiffy feet! They get ever so damp and sweaty if he's in shoes and socks for too long! I try to put him in his sandals were possible

Hiiii pennie lovely to hear from you!! Wow at m's signing skills, she's doing fab with that, and it's great you're getting support from speech therapy too. Hope you get time to post every now and then, great hearing from you :)

Would love to take e to alton towers, he'd love cbeebies land I think :) Might see if we can plan it for August/sometime after this camping trip

oooh wow a fire engine ride pass fab stuff! who enjoyed it more, you or p? ;)

pikz that's lovely :)

awww chasing your post was such a lovely happy one :) I am so pleased you're enjoying your week off, and it sounds like O is going to adore his nursery :)

gt i try to do the same as stunt, I definitely always repeat the word e is trying to say after he's said it. Mum said it's important they hear the correct word because that's the word they're trying to say even if it doesn't come out correctly. When they say for example eh-oh for hello they are trying to say hello, they're not trying to say eh-oh. Could be wrong but it made sense to me so I always repeat words to E to try to kind of clarify them a bit.

Horsey we were in Stockport last week so I think a fair way from you. Right kids are in bed so I'm going to have a shower and head off to bed after this morning's misadventures. DS2 wet the bed in the night and woke up soaking which is really weird as he's 8 and hasn't wet the bed since the toilet training days. He doesn't seem to have a uti so I'm attributing it to too much fizzy drink at dinner and being so tired from swimming that he wasn't woken by the need to wee. Either way I was up waaay too early this morning, DS2 even woke J up it was so early, so I need an early night tonight.

Gah have had to settle F 4 or 5 times already. Poor girl. Poor mummy. Poor cat, who gets settled on my tummy then ousted Grin

Today, F has been properly afraid at times. I have never seen her like that before. Both times were when dh pulled up in the car, and I said "quick, look who's coming" and (until she could se dh and the panic was over) she screamed and ran to me, and wouldn't let go. Proper tears and terror on her face Sad

I suppose it is just part of growing up, and realising there are scary things out there, but it a lesson I wish she didn't have to learn yet. She's still a wee baby!

Poor wee sausage bp. It must be a total mind bender to realise that the world is so huge.

And aging pussy sends her sympathy to pussy pig. She also gets ousted every time I need to move.

Is aging pussy ok now? PussyPig is being kept well away from my new pack of earplugs, and has been v happy and purry lately. He probably has a gf, the old charmer.
