Hope everyone finds this and I haven't doubled up!

I've got really bad back pain and ds is spinning on his zebra crying. No idea why!

Tbh beasty I usually find a breadstick solves all problems Blush

My friend has a 3 day old. Her milk hasn't come in yet (or hadn't this morning less than 72hours post birth) and the so called feeding expert is telling her to top up because she's not giving him what he needs Angry

I never go anywhere near any shop without a stash of breadsticks/rice cakes/crackers etc. it just isn't worth it. I've been known to offer them to other stresed mums with an I've-been-there type comment!

R survived his first dinner party with only one smashed glass, and that was the host deciding that ball games at the dinner table were a great idea despite all us folk who actually have/had kids restricting them to the garden Hmm wine and proper pudding was luffly

halestone · 07/09/2014 14:15

Me and DP have had a huge talk about H's sleep and have come to an agreement about how to tackle it. I just hope he keeps to his side of it.

I hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather i am having a BBQ later with my aunty and uncle coming to my house for the 1st time. I am so excited Grin

WLmum · 07/09/2014 14:25

That's good hales. After a couple of weeks of awful nights I went to bed at 8.30 last night. Just as well as T was up at 5.50. When I ignored her calls she switched to calling for dd2!

We're at the Thames festival of tall ships. Dds mostly enjoyed the train and tube getting here!

WLmum · 07/09/2014 14:34

DH and dd1&2 are aboard one of the ships, T and I are having a boobie break.

halestone · 07/09/2014 15:24

Sounds lovely WL is the weather nice for you down there?

I am currently sat on the couch all alone Grin DP and H are in bed. All the cleaning and shopping has been done. So i am finally getting some me time Grin Till my family arrive.

Just a quick one - a friend I saw yesterday has just texted to say that her son (17 months) has been diagnosed with chicken pox today. We fly to sicily tomorrow - is there anything I can do beside watch to see if it develops, and pack calpol and soothing gel? What are the implications for me, given that I'm pregnant BUT have had it when I was small?

SpottyTeacakes · 07/09/2014 16:46

Nothing you can do. Would be 7-21 days before he shows signs of it (I think). Piriton and virasoothe both good, calamine no longer recommended. I think you should be ok if you've had it?

OP posts:
Barbeasty · 07/09/2014 19:59

DD had it when i was (just) pregnant with A.

It's only a problem in early pregnancy (I think) and it was ok when DD had it later in pregnancy because I'd been through it without getting it

i don't think there's anything you can do.

SpottyTeacakes · 07/09/2014 20:17

You could get him vaccinated really quickly tomorrow morning?! Grin

WLmum · 07/09/2014 20:46

Oh dear utopian. I second all the above. Hopefully if he gets it it won't be til you get back - dd2 didn't get it til 3 weeks after dd1 had it - we were just breathing a sigh of relief when the first spot popped up!

WLmum · 07/09/2014 20:46

Yes hales the weather was beautiful. Had a fab day. Exhausted now.

MrsNutella · 08/09/2014 08:42

Utopian FX that O stays healthy on your holiday! How is your pregnancy going? Do you know what you're having?

Sorry, brain is like a sieve!
DD is four weeks today. It's gone so fast! She seems to be feeding about every other hour day and night yesterday and today....and there is some baby acne coming up. Is it milk rash in the UK?

I obviously need to visit before I forget my own language! Shock

MrsNutella · 08/09/2014 08:43

hales glad you managed to agree something with DP. Hope bedtimes and night sleeps are improving.

SpottyTeacakes · 08/09/2014 08:59

Baby acne is when their whole face is covered in spots. Milk spots are when they're just on the chin and creases of neck. Dd had baby acne and it was horrible!

PurplePidjin · 08/09/2014 12:11

Gah, tried R in pants again today as he's got a persistent spot of rash again Sad and he had two accidents! One after I said no to him so mid-tantrum (think he loses control when cross) and one when he dozed off in the car seat - which I now need to find a way to clean! Nappies and lots of naked time at home it is, then Hmm

Barbeasty · 08/09/2014 14:07

Oh no Pidj. For a while when DD was fully potty trained we used to give her pull ups to wear over pants for long journeys. Meant that any accidents when she was asleep were contained.

And she went through a phase of deliberately wetting herself whenever I said no (about a 5 minute delay each time...)

Got to leave soon and pick her up from school. I'm a bit cross. Spoke to another mum when I dropped DD off and her DD also wasn't at nursery with anyone. She knows a couple of children as she has an older sister. But now we know that there are at least 3 girls who don't have nursery friends and all of them are in different groups! Utter madness.

I've bribed her to talk to children. She has to tell me the name of 2 children she talks to and what they talk about. Then I will arrange a horse riding lesson. Seemed a good way to get her over that initial hurdle.

And somehow I agreed to get her a mcdonalds milkshake on the way home today.

PurplePidjin · 08/09/2014 14:27

thanks beasty. he wets instantly so i think it's a multi-tasking issue Grin or he's not ready to tell me so a tiny thing turns into I'm going to wee oh now I'm upset because I'm wet waaaaaah in the blink of an eye. he'll get there soon enough

MrsNutella · 08/09/2014 14:45

spotty thanks! Yup, DS definitely had acne. Poor love. I remember when it was starting to get better he had really crusty eyebrows. DD has patches on her cheeks at the moment.

Barbeasty · 08/09/2014 14:51

But does it disrupt the tantrum so you can calm him?!

PurplePidjin · 08/09/2014 15:47

No, it makes a small Waah into a total meltdown until i realise and get him onto the loo and the wet clothes off. So he definitely isn't ready yet although he wants to be

if asked what his name starts with he says Ruh Ruh :o

Stacks · 08/09/2014 19:09

DH has started teaching DS his letters. It wasn't on purpose really to start with, but he knows T, E, D, M, N and G. If you draw a letter and ask him what it is he'll say "D for daddy" etc. it's cute, and we got lots of praise from other mums at playgroup. He seems to have an amazing memory and attention to detail. He learned N only being shown it once, then picked up his Z block, turned it sideways and said N for Nanna.

We're still struggling a bit with food though, he's a grazer so takes forever to eat a meal (1.5 hours for dinner), and would rather snack through the day. Do any of you have any snack ideas? We do crackers, breadsticks and the like, but it's hardly a balanced diet...

Enjoy your holiday Utopian, hope DS stays well and happy through it.

Pidg it's a shame R is having accidents again. Does your car seat cover come off for washing? I think most do, though it's awkward to get it off. You can get car seat protectors, I think reusable ones too.

halestone · 08/09/2014 20:07

Wow well done to T that sounds so clever Grin

Pidj, i hope R's bum clears up soon. When we are home we don't bother with nappies at all unless shes asleep.

Nutella, i am loving the video on FB. T is so cute with H.

Utopian i hope the chicken pox doesn't materalise and that you have a lovely holiday.

Beasty, Did your Dd make any friends?

WL, i'm glad you all had a lovely day yesterday.

My 1st attempt at putting H down for her nap whilst sat near the cot ignoring her was successful. Round 2 tonight.

SpottyTeacakes · 08/09/2014 20:13

Dd didn't have a great morning at school Sad I think she's wishing she was back at nursery

OP posts:
halestone · 08/09/2014 20:55

Oh no Spotty, how come she didn't like it?
