Wah just found out my pals' sister has gone into labour - two days after her due date. I'm so excited! She's at my best pal's house, in a lot of pain as the wee bugger is back to back. We've just suggested she scrub the floors to turn the baby (and ducked to avoid a slap). They won't let her into hospital for another 6-8 hours at least as her contractions are so irregular, so she's surviving on paracetamol. I'm so excited. It's a good thing I'm preggers as I'm ridiculously broody.

PetiteRaleuse · 02/07/2014 11:02

Stunt Flowers phases like that are horrible.

Good luck to your friend yw I would be in hospital begging for an epidural by now ow ow ow

MNHQ are doing a Q&A with Hillary Clinton on Friday!!!!!!!!!!

The translation people have just called with more urgent work for tomorrow I am going to be pulling an all nighter I think. Why can't I just say no? Eh?

MsJupiter · 02/07/2014 15:06

I think my Mum's trying to potty train L Confused

YellowWellies · 02/07/2014 16:16

She's just gone into hospital now - after nine hours of back to back labour at home! Ouch. I'm so glad I was prem I got to go in straight away so they could assess whether to whisk me off the island. It meant I got gas and air as soon as I wanted it. Mindst my contractions were every 2 minutes not every half hour.

Paisleychick · 02/07/2014 17:27

Hello ladies

There was so much I wanted to say but I've forgotten half of it.
Pr you really need to watch ER. The first series wasn't great but I only realised that when I watched them again. Its a great series.

Loved the feminism talk. It was very interesting. Its funny, if I had a girl I would do my darnedest to make sure she wasn't a pink fluffy girl but with H he has some pink pyjamas, and a pink cup and its not an issue.

H has been a bit of a nightmare too. He's been biting and crying a lot and that's not like him at all. Hopefully it won't last long.

Zamboni · 02/07/2014 19:07

Is it sweary Wednesday? Righto, here we go:

Fucking bastarding wanky chicken pox can FUCK the fuck off.

Phew, I needed to get that out.

Poor S has it fucking everywhere. It was bad this morning but I came home to something much worse. It's in his hair, in his ears, around his eyes so bad he can barely close them, all over his lips, ulcers all over his tongue, his back is fucking covered, his nappy area is basically one big red raw, pus filled spot o' chicken pox. He's obviously not at all well but is actually pretty even tempered considering, even managed a giggle in the bath with DD just now and fell asleep ok. I'm expecting a disturbed night so just a quick bit of work and early to bed.

I know it will be good to get it out of the way once it is over and if this is the worse thing he gets we will be lucky, but it is fucking horrible seeing him in pain. I wish so much it could be DH Grin me instead.

Anyhoo. Hope the rest of the quiche is ok.

Good luck to your pal YW.

How's the mouth Jupiter?

Seems quiet on the thread - if you're reading but not posting go on, give us a little wave. We miss you!

I thought DD had had it bad but she clearly got off lightly.

PetiteRaleuse · 02/07/2014 19:13

Oh goodness poor S zamboni that sounds horrible. The pox is utter cuntish shitwankery.

ValiumQueen · 02/07/2014 19:19

Poxycin for Pox. Virasoothe can really sting at times. I learned this from DD2. By the time I heard about Poxycin she was at the end of it.

ValiumQueen · 02/07/2014 19:21

Zamboni I would consider getting him looked at by a doctor if it is that near his eyes. It can be nasty if it gets on the eyes, more nasty than it already is Sad

ValiumQueen · 02/07/2014 19:22

And don't forget the Piriton.

ValiumQueen · 02/07/2014 19:23

I have a bit of a work issue going on at the moment which is keeping me quite quiet. It is Cunting Fucking Wednesday isn't it!

She is a cunty cunt cunt cunt Grin

Zamboni · 02/07/2014 19:26

Thanks for the advice VQ. Didn't know that. It's basically all along the edge of the lower eyelid (do we have a lower eyelid?) but as far as I can see not the actual eyeball (can you get pox on the eyeball?) unless you think differently we will see how it is in the am and DH can take him to the GP if necessary.

He's only lightly asleep which is v unusual. Keeps clawing at his head Sad

Zamboni · 02/07/2014 19:26

Can I self administer piriton?

StuntNun · 02/07/2014 19:30

J settled down a bit in the end after a walk, a trip to the park, a sleep and a spot of lunch. We're away from home at the moment and it's been a bit of a gamble food-wise so he could have inadvertently got something he shouldn't. We've been asking everywhere, taking our own snacks just on case, giving him a jar of baby food on one occasion so we could check the ingredients, but it's possible something untoward has sneaked in. Soya is the trickiest one as it's everywhere and people aren't generally familiar with soya intolerance. J seems to be okay with occasionally soya exposure but if it's day after day then it builds up in his system and he reacts.

I have to say the not talking is starting to get to me. J screams and screams when he's not getting his way but because he doesn't talk there's no way of getting much clue as to what the problem is. He can't even say yes or no reliably so we can't ask him questions until we find out what's wrong.

PetiteRaleuse · 02/07/2014 19:37

vq is right. You can get piriton otc and it will help with the itching. I think the dose at this age is 2.5ml as you guysbase it on age

PetiteRaleuse · 02/07/2014 19:38

stunt you sound at tge end of your tether I hope you get a decent night's sleep Flowers

Zamboni · 02/07/2014 19:47

Ok will get some of that tomorrow. He's awake and pissed off. Going to be a long night.

PetiteRaleuse · 02/07/2014 20:02

Piriton might help with that it can make them a bit drowsy.

ChasingDaisy · 02/07/2014 20:10

Oh Zamboni, poor S. That sounds horrid Sad

horseylady · 02/07/2014 20:16

That sounds awful I'm dreading the pox.

Today we've been to the beach!!! E loved it!!!

Zamboni · 02/07/2014 20:16

I can't get any before then PR - home alone as DH is working and has the car

PetiteRaleuse · 02/07/2014 20:21

Where did you decide to go in the end horsey ? The farm place? How is it?

Good luck for tonight zamboni it really is worth getting him checked if anything looks worrying. Warn the gp before that it is the pox re contagion. Do they still do home visits over there?

Zamboni · 02/07/2014 20:22

Don't know, will call the surgery tomorrow. DH has left work to collect piriton and is on way home. thank fuck

PetiteRaleuse · 02/07/2014 20:24

Oh that's great. I meant home visits due to contagion risk. The piriton will help him relax am sure x

horseylady · 02/07/2014 20:55

Yes it's lovely!!! Done a fair few things here!!! No idea who the owners of the place are though lol not seen anyone since we've been here!! E loving it though!
