I'm generally not woo at all but don't believe we know or can explain everything scientifically. But that would properly freak me out YW .

Am enjoying House of Cards PR. Kevin Spacey is creepy as they come though. But I have always thought that. Robin Wright is frighteningly gorgeous in a don't-fuck-with-me-ice-princess way.

MsJupiter · 30/06/2014 21:15

While I don't believe in woo, I do get freaked out by it. I live in fear of hearing L chatting to someone as we live in my grandparents' old house. Although I miss my dgps, if there are such things as ghosts, I don't want to see them. More than happy with photos and memories.

PetiteRaleuse · 30/06/2014 21:17

Robin Wright in that show is my girl crush.

PetiteRaleuse · 30/06/2014 21:23

My brother was non verbal til about 3/4. Butstill chatted to the lady on the stairs. He was often to be found there, chatting away.

StuntNun · 30/06/2014 21:34

I don't know PR, I was certainly troubled by it as a child but I never thought it was caused by a demon! I think the pastor concerned took a seriously wrong tack. I think even as a child I assumed there was some sort of scientific explanation that we just didn't understand yet. I'm not looking forward to them coming back now J is sleeping through more often than not. At least when I was beyond tired I didn't have/remember dreams.

OP posts:
PetiteRaleuse · 30/06/2014 21:44

I'd doubt very much it was a demon, if you don't think it was. I think the Church (particularly some branches) tended to get wound up about things where they should have let it be. Anything non explainable was a demon.

Vivid dreams can be frightening. And fun and heaps of other stuff. But the bad ones stick. As I said, happy to discuss.

Passmethecrisps · 30/06/2014 22:25

I fucking love you lot.

Rowingdowntheriver · 30/06/2014 22:27

bigpig that is really spooky.

So is the story about J's friend yw. Sounds like gandalf shares a room with her. She is scarily advanced to know colours and so on at this age. Very impressive!

Passmethecrisps · 30/06/2014 22:29

And I have leg cramp. Bloody annoying

If it helps yw, I have had similar phone calls to the one you might have made and have never thought twice about sticking my head round a classroom door. I am not 'woo' but believe in intuition quite strongly.

YellowWellies · 30/06/2014 22:32

From her description it sounds more like a man in a top hat Rowing, which given we live in a Victorian town is a bit...waaaah. She is very advanced. Her mum worries a bit as there is high functioning autism in the family and her DD is easily 6 months to a year ahead of where most tots (including my wonderful wee lump!) are at this age. She's one of those wee wonders that was walking and talking at 9 months!

YellowWellies · 30/06/2014 22:33

Thanks Pass that's a reassurance. Next time I'll just fess up and call them. Let's hope it wasn't a premonition of a shit night, am not used to them anymore....

MsJupiter · 30/06/2014 23:26

L does a few colours but I'm not sure how much is chance, if I ask him to pick up a red or blue block he's quite reliable, or if I ask what colour the block is he will say red or blue correctly 80% of the time. Yellow and green he is less sure of but gets sometimes which could be chance. It's the same with numbers, eight crops up more often than mathematically likely.

From saying very little we've had an explosion of words lately. He's also frequently shattered which I guess is related? Behaviour deteriorates when he's tired (hair pulling and biting) so we are having to manage it carefully.

MsJupiter · 30/06/2014 23:27

Also, we love you too Pass.

Also, Robin Wright is a great girl crush!

YellowWellies · 01/07/2014 00:30

Jupiter that's really good - especially for a wee boy. We've got red and green (I think from waiting for the green man) but his pal knows them all - pink, grey, gold, indigo she makes me Shock

GTbaby · 01/07/2014 00:57

Pr. I bought h water proof trousers from amazon.
I tried ordering on next but it was a 7week wait.
I wanted a splash suit, only one I could find was next at 25£ A bit pricy. So ended up buying just trousers as he has a few coats.
Since they arrived we haven't been out in rain.

YellowWellies · 01/07/2014 01:15

And when I say is starting to learn numbers and letters I mean she can recognise them written down / as wooden jigsaw pieces and will tell you their names Shock

GTbaby · 01/07/2014 01:21

Apart from super kid, are any of you trying to teach numbers yet?
H goes "eh uh eh" before coming down the slide. Copying me doing 1.2.3.

Lily311 · 01/07/2014 05:23

Arghh. Lost my post.

pr we have these waterproofs, they are second hand and got them from my ex boss.

O does numbers, we count everything. She is confident to count till 10 but sometimes misses out on 4 and 7 in English and can do it till 6 in Hungarian. She has amazing pencil control as well and drawing and scribbling all the time.

I just ordered her built in wardrobe and big bed for her room, they will be made especially for her room. Anyone else not doing toddler bed? I went for a full size single bed at the end. Not planning to move her till the end of the year but she can get used to having a big bed in her room by than.

I desperately wanted to believe in ghosts when Leo died. I wanted him to appear and talk to me. But he never did. I only dreamt of him once in over 2 years.i do wonder though whether O can see him or not.

ValiumQueen · 01/07/2014 06:10

Lily J is in a full size single and has been for some time. I did the toddler bed thing with the girls as it was bought when we thought we would only have the one child.

I have come across two people who I honestly believe were possessed by a demon. It was nothing about their general behaviour as I am used to work with people with behavioural and mental health issues. It was how they reacted to me. I am a Christian and they both recoiled like Superman near Kryptonite. The first was in Prison and I just walked past his cell. The second was in the community and much more frightening. Neither reacted to anyone else like they did to me.

I also have personal experience of an angel SmileSmileSmile

There is a lot in this world that we do not understand. Quite exciting really.

ValiumQueen · 01/07/2014 06:14

My brother was potty trained night and day at 18 months, is amazing with numbers, and has Asbergers. It is however far too early to diagnose anything as there are many children who 'get' things earlier than others and do not end up on the autistic spectrum.

PetiteRaleuse · 01/07/2014 06:42

Morning all. Thanks for the waterproof trouser tips.

Pikz · 01/07/2014 07:16

We have red, orange and lellow! Also 1-10 as we count everything.

Very stressed with work ATM. Could have just walked out yesterday.

Never had experience of ghosts or anything. Probably for the best as I'm easily spooked.

L has spent 20 mins just shouting toast at me

Zamboni · 01/07/2014 08:16

Pikz Thanks

Very impressed by all these super clever babies! S has started to 'count' to three - he's not really counting, just copying DD. There are new words coming thick and fast now. Our current most useful words are "walk" and "more". He wants to walk everywhere, especially up and down stairs. More is an excellent, multi-functional word deployed regularly in all situations.

S had a good night notwithstanding the pox. Guess it's not yet too itchy!

PetiteRaleuse · 01/07/2014 08:29

LO says numbers up to three but as zamboni says it is more repetition, reciting things she hears, than actual counting. DD1 has started to actually count things recently, despite knowing numbers until recently it was just words in a specific sequence.

I have some tough emails to write today. So have gone back to bed to psych up to it.

Wandathewindfairy · 01/07/2014 08:37

pr I usually use JoJo or Muddy Puddles for waterproofs for the kiddos.

I am not woo though at all.

Now y'all have said that about Florence I am dying to go. Yes pr it is costing his company a fortune! I am tremendously in awe of my DH and proud of him he never ever talks about his achievements and is extremely humble, I think this makes me more proud although sometimes I wish he would just boast.

Thanks for you pikz deep breaths and a big old virtual hug. But clever old L.

O doesn't do colours though his words are coming on in leaps and bounds. He says DS1s name clearly and lots of words like tractor, digger, truck, stuck, spade, moo, milk, toast and MINE.

He is funny though because he says ehh before he says something. This morning we drove past Nanny's to get to nursery and he sits in the back saying "ehh nannyyyyyy, ehh, nannyyyyyyy, ehh, nannnnnnyyyy" for about a mile and a half.
