Pikz lovely to see you. What a relief!

GT was it you who suggested the veg fingers? The Tesco ones are dairy, soy and egg free - J is loving them with a bowl of beans. A great suggestion for an easy lunch. Thank you xx

Pikz · 27/06/2014 13:54

YW was going to ping you. What can I give L for puddings instead of the yoghurt he loves?

Zamboni · 27/06/2014 14:13

Pikz we have sorbet, dried fruit, fruit, stewed fruit and jelly a lot. Giving up yoghurts was hard. S is fine with dairy as a minor ingredient though so not sure whether they work if you're being really strict.

GTbaby · 27/06/2014 14:52

Yw it was kyz. That was good buying though. She only mentioned it yesterday.

PetiteRaleuse · 27/06/2014 14:57

Following on from the tinned mackerel in tomato sauce discussion earlier in the week. It's not something I had ever come across but it was on offer today in my supermarket so picked some up!

StuntNun · 27/06/2014 16:52

The dietitian confirmed that duck eggs are out if there is an existing hen's egg allergy. Sad On the plus side she was very knowledgeable about food intolerances had lots of advice for me. We're to investigate his suspected fish allergy next, drop the Neocate, and she is considering adding more vitamin supplements and testing for coeliac.

Thank you zamboni. Was feeling a bit lost. He isn't intolerant just the doc said would be good to cut down so he's on koko milk at bedtime and he just has yoghurts a lot,

Stunt it's good your getting some testing now.

ValiumQueen · 27/06/2014 18:10

Big hugs Pikz. You sound very flat Thanks

ValiumQueen · 27/06/2014 18:12

For Dairy Free folk, I make Milk Jelly, but with the Koko milk obviously. All three hoover it up Smile Just make jelly up as usual but with half the water, then mix in the milk when cooled but before it sets. Sorry if I am telling you how to suck eggs.

PetiteRaleuse · 27/06/2014 18:13

Mackerel in tomato sauce going down a treat here. Would never have thought of it. V chuffed to have such an easy meal for lazy evenings. They had pate on bread to start and will finish with raspberries.

misslaughalot · 27/06/2014 18:40

Evening all

Eliza great. Wes on the weight gain.
Kyz what a huge achievement for you yesterday! Fab stuff and hopefully something for you to build on.
GT how are things today?

Well I think we've identified the cause of O's bad nights this week. So yesterday we had our 20 week scan. All seems well although baby wasn't playing ball and they couldn't see everything they needed to so I have to go back for another scan in 2 weeks. Also I have placenta previa, did anyone here have this? I haven't read all the info they gave me about it yet. We've also been advised not to DTD until after the next scan not that we've been doing that much anyway

So after the scan DP, O and I went for afternoon tea at a posh hotel, a Christmas present from BIL and SIL. We'd been there about 20 mins and all O wanted to do was cuddle, very unlike her. Normally she'd be exploring and getting into everything. She also ignored all of the sandwiches and cakes on offer, also very unlike her. She eventually fell asleep on me which was fine, afternoon tea is easy to eat with one hand. Then we were on our way home, literally 30 seconds out of the car park and she threw up all over the back of the car, it was like a fountain, just kept coming. We pulled over and stripped her off on the side of the road, bless her standing on the pavement in just her trousers and shoes, wondering what the hell was happening. She was sick again as we were nearly home. We tried her with some plain toast before bed, as I didn't want her to go to sleep on an empty stomach, but it didn't stay down long. So she had her milk and went to bed. An unsettled night, helped by Calpol somewhat. She's eaten well today, still a high temperature but hopefully on the mend and heading back to sleeping through again. Fingers crossed anyway.

misslaughalot · 27/06/2014 18:41

Gah, Eliza that should be 'great news' obviously...

GTbaby · 27/06/2014 19:09

Miss that's horrible for O hope she feels better soon

ValiumQueen · 27/06/2014 19:20

Poor O Sad

I am about to be whisked off for a romantic meal by DH (obv) It is our anniversary and we have a babysitter. First time out on our own since before J was born.

PetiteRaleuse · 27/06/2014 19:22

Have a wonderful evening vq and happy anniversary.

Eek hope you don't all catch it laughs

PetiteRaleuse · 27/06/2014 19:22

Arse. Not laughing. Obvs.

BigPigLittlePig · 27/06/2014 19:23

Oh no to vom.

Stunt today has been day 1 of wheat free. I can find no bread at all that is dairy, soya, egg and wheat free so have bought gluten free flour and will stick a loaf on. I am so fucking tired of it all Sad

Pikz Thanks

Both girls in bed, now just chilling before I go off to work. And it's Glastonbury weekend so lots of drunken revellers no doubt.

Passmethecrisps · 27/06/2014 20:28

Evening chums.

Reading all of the posts about dietary needs and excluding this and that out of diets is amazing. Our babies are unfortunate to need such care but are very fortunate to have mums who work so hard for them.

Poor wee O, miss. Fingers crossed that the vom has cleared the system.

Enjoy your night out vq!! Well earned for sure.

That dinner sounds ace pr. P prefers the mackerel in olive oil to tomato sauce but it is still ace to have such a quick meal. I mix it with Cous Cous, rice or pasta sometimes.

P is still a wee bit run down with a residual chesty cough. I think she needs a holiday as well.

Oh yeah. And the summer holidays start today! Woot

Elizadoesdolittle · 27/06/2014 20:31

miss Poor O. But glad it sounds like a swift(ish) recovery. I don't know much about placentia previa but my mil had it. That was in the days before scans though. As far as I know I think you'll just be scanned more frequently to see if the placenta moves. If it doesn't then I think they'll book you in for a planned c section. Don't quote me though!

kyz Hope your day didn't drag you thought of something to do.

vq Have a lovely evening. Although we are very lucky and get to go out a lot it is very rare for just me and DH to go out together. Must make an effort to do so soon. Happy anniversary.

Dh is out at cricket tonight. I fed kids earlier and just went to make myself dinner when I realised there is pretty much bugger all in the house. So dinner for me is chrizio, carrot sticks, pringles, hummous and sour cream and chive dip. I'm actually really enjoying it.

GTbaby · 27/06/2014 20:35

BP did DSD like the loom band thingy?

BigPigLittlePig · 27/06/2014 20:39

Oooohhhh yes GT. She was particularly delighted by the weaving frame thingy because this will (apparently) enable her to do fishtails Confused which have thus far elused her.

PetiteRaleuse · 27/06/2014 20:40

At 20w with DD1 I had placenta praevia but it was fine by 32w. V important that you keep an eye on it though.

Was entrusted with neighbours' outdoor cat for 36 hours earlier this week. Obviously it has fucked off. Cue upset kids etc. hope it comes back very soon.

Kyz · 27/06/2014 20:56

Evening people :)

Weather has been royally shite here today but e ended up being in an ok mood really so that was a nice surprise!

bless her bp seems so unfair :( Hopefully the quiche babies will grow out of any intolerances they can grow out of. Poor minipig does have a raw deal of it :( hope you got plenty of sleep today.

that's great news pikz, glad his chest is clear etc and glad you're coming out of the other side of stress - hope everything is ok?

Glad the veg fingers are going down well at yw castle :) I didn't realise they were free of all of those things but yay for J enjoying them :D

pr what did you give the tinned fish stuff with?

glad some tests are being done Stunt and hopefully you'll get to the bottom of J's intolerances and he'll be all the more comfortable for it :)

Glad all seems well with your scan misslaughalot I've no experience of the placenta thingy you mentioned but hopefully everything will be just fine, i'm sure it will :) and poor O, bless her!

happy anniversary vq hope you have a really lovely time and some shags?

hope P is all fixed soon pass bless her!

I'm hoping the weather is half decent this weekend so we can go out somewhere, though i've no idea where!

PetiteRaleuse · 27/06/2014 21:04

They had bread and paté to start, tinned fish for main and a bit of tabbouleh, then masses of raspberries (two punnets) and strawberries afterwards. During the week I am a little meh about balanced evening meals as they get a huge meal at lunchtime.

Tomorrow lunch they are having roast lamb marinaded in tomato and herb sauce, with roast spuds and puree sweet potatoes, and carrots and french beans.

For dinner they are getting hotdogs and chips :o (village do). Or maybe merguez and chips. Or maybe just chips. It's the annual village shindig.

Donnadoon · 27/06/2014 21:16

Well done on the driving kyz. It's lovely to see your epic posts back.
Way-hay ! Nice to see you horsey
Dd loves strawberries and grapes but not after 4pm as she seems to get trapped wind at bed time if she has them in the evening.
