Poo normal, sleep about normal!! Sleeps through 4/7 nights on average?

Apart from skin and chest, there's nothing linking it to CMPI. Ive read that reflux can lead to recurrent chest infections, even when it's died down? There has to be something? Just not sure what it is?

BigPigLittlePig · 26/06/2014 22:31

VQ I bared my scrawny yet wobbly body on the beach the other week. Was horrible, felt so self conscious, but kept telling myself that it was for F, and ended up having a whale of a time until my top fell down. Was still a bit Confused though. Gooooood luck when the time comes.

I can hear a mozzy whizzing round my room. Fucking wildlife. Plus spider season seems to have begun already?!

Kyz · 26/06/2014 22:38

vq Eek I didn't mean you're brave to be thinking about the costume swimming thing but just that you're brave and that's why you'd manage to go. Sorry if it read as an insult I really didn't mean it that way

PetiteRaleuse · 26/06/2014 22:40

I have two spider bites atm piggy and many mosquito bites.

Ha re your top falling down. Did I ever tell quiche about the first time I bungee jumped. It was great. And as I was dangling from the thread at the end, waiting for the boat to come and collect me I became aware of applause from the side of the river over which I jumped. I stretched my arms out in a whoop I did it gesture. The applause increased, accompanied by laughter.

At which point I realised my top had fallen down around my neck and my boobs had tipped out of my bra. I was a dangling showpiece. And couldn't fix it until I was safely in the boat.

Thank God that back then (1999) there was not the internet we have now. Blush I'd have gone viral :o

BigPigLittlePig · 26/06/2014 22:43

PR I shall go to bed with a Grin on my face now.

Still, top incident wasn't as bad as when I was racing out a swimming pool with dsd ("I need a poo NOW moment) and my bikini bottoms fell off Blush

Night all!

PetiteRaleuse · 26/06/2014 22:43

:o that is worse :o

PetiteRaleuse · 26/06/2014 22:48

DD1 is still up. It's midnight almost. I think I will keep her at home tomorrow. She'll be a nightmare at nursery.

YellowWellies · 26/06/2014 22:54

Horsey I think there is a view that if they aspirate any of the reflux there will be a pool for germs etc in their lungs for chest infections to have a party in. Even without the poo / sleep issues I'd be tempted to eliminate dairy for a fortnight and see if there is any change. It would be great if like (Zamboni was it your S love?) another of the babies on this thread your wee man didn't need an inhaler. Sorry baby brain....

Kyz I was very anxious during my driving lessons. And will be in the decades it takes me to pass.... I could totally empathise. High five chick.

PetiteRaleuse · 26/06/2014 23:07

OMG this is not sleep regression this is complete sleep refusal !!! She's been great the last few weeks, in bed at 9 ish. Today she had a long nap at nursery and bam! FFS. Threenagers eh?

GTbaby · 26/06/2014 23:49

Kyz thanks! I never thought of those, Great idea and a step in right direction.

Rowingdowntheriver · 27/06/2014 02:31

Ha ha pr!

ValiumQueen · 27/06/2014 06:36

Oh dear PR. I hope you both got some sleep.

Everything else overnight gave me a proper chuckle this morning Grin

Kyz thank you for your lovely kind words Smile And I certainly didn't interpret any of it as insulting. I think you are awesome, and extremely lovely to boot. Your hubby and wee boy are very lucky to have you, as are your as-yet-not-concieved babies Thanks

Horsey as usual YW makes a lot of sense. I would recommend eliminating dairy and soya too. It isn't that hard honest. Is in any formula still? My J was reacting to the px formula and has not vomited since he last had it. I have yet to have that convo with the Dr!

Zamboni · 27/06/2014 06:36

Yes YW it was S who was given an inhaler and a salt water nebuliser because his wheeze was terrible and they thought maybe asthma. He also had infection after infection, antibiotics seemed to clear things up but days after the end of the course he'd be wheezy again. He had mild facial excema and a horrendous, permanent cough which was the primary reason for his night wakings and massively disrupted sleep. He had raised lymph nodes almost constantly, a very sympathetic GP and 2 paed referrals. All very nice and sincerely trying to help him. No one suggested intolerance.

I admit that I too was skeptical that cutting dairy would have an impact. But noting else really seemed to be working and the nebuliser was horrid. He was a milk and yoghurt fiend as well. We'd moved him onto cows milk just after 12 months and he'd been doing fine, or so I thought.

We decided to cut dairy as a trial. Bought oatly, swapped to vitalite, binned all yoghurts. Avoided products with obvious dairy ing

In 2 weeks the difference was

Zamboni · 27/06/2014 06:40

Posted too soon...

In 2 weeks the difference was incredible. By 3 weeks his symptoms had all but gone. He started to sleep through as the cough was gone and the wheeze also gone. On our first follow up to the asthma clinic we were totally discharged because he was so improved.

I really didn't think dairy could be the cause and did the first 2 weeks dairy free so just definitively rule it out.

Just saying it might be worth a try. It might not fix things for E but it seems to have worked for a few of us.

Rowingdowntheriver · 27/06/2014 07:32

Oh pr my laugh was at your bungee experience, not at still being up at midnight!

StuntNun · 27/06/2014 07:34

I would always suggest a dairy and soy free trial for persistent problems such as you describe Horsey. It's a bit of a pain reading all the labels for a couple of weeks but the improvements could be life changing. J had been having cheese and yoghurts since weaning, it was only because there was such a marked deterioration when he started cow's milk that we realised he had a problem with dairy. When he's off egg, dairy and soy he's a different child. It's not just the sleep, he's happier in the day too - he doesn't smile and laugh when he's been eating the wrong food. Sad

DH has just asked whether J could have duck eggs? Our local Spar sells them so that could make for some easy lunches for J. Have any of the egg avoiders tried duck eggs?

Sounds like a memorable experience PR!

Morning everyone. Early start and a sad e asking for meninin (medicine). He was stuffing his fingers in his mouth so I gave him PCM. I hope he perks up a bit as he seems to be feeling very sorry for himself. Must be teeth.

Lol pr that made me chuckle!! Bless you!

bp oh no! Bless you too (with another small chuckle of course)

Hope you got some sleep pr

Thankyou vq, told you you were too lovely

No idea re the eggs stunt sorry!

It's miserable weather here today, and with a miserable boy I think this morning will drag. We have already sung lots and done some chalk drawings.... What next..... What are you all up to today?

ValiumQueen · 27/06/2014 09:32

The only difference between a duck egg and a hen egg is the size. I would avoid Stunt. Not worth the risk IMO.

StuntNun · 27/06/2014 09:36

Drat VQ, I thought we were on to something there.

BigPigLittlePig · 27/06/2014 10:32

Kyz after waking at the crack of dawn again little pig is already asleep, so I intend to follow suit

Think we are heading towards a wheat free trial too. Reflux is creeping back as she outgrows her max dose of medicine, I figure we have nothing to lose. But bloody hell, milk, egg, wheat and soya free Sad Sad Good job she likes fruit.

PetiteRaleuse · 27/06/2014 10:57

Morning all. Well DD1 came to bed after midnight and then was fine this morning. My description of her tricky almost four hour long bedtime was met with catsbummoths at nursery :o but short of drugging her what are you supposed to do? do they sell sleepers for toddlers?

LO was not amused at her annual nursery medical visit this morning. However the Dr who did it looked at her skin, and said she needed allergy testing. Gave me the name of a specialist so I have to get the paed to write a letter. Will look into that in August when she will have her last obligatory check up (if we do six at specific times over the first 21-24 months we get a €500 bonus from family allowance people).

Pikz · 27/06/2014 11:16

Been really worried about L as I thought his breathing was very noisy and was petrified we were in for something awful.

The good news is his chest is completely clear and his O2 levels are the highest they can be. He has small nasal passages and the noise is a ball of mucous at the back of his nose rattling which is being aggravated by pollen! Reducing dairy will help the amount of mucous but otherwise it's lots of steam and saline.

I feel like bricks have been removed from my shoulders.

Big hugs to all I've missed and Brew and Thanks to all xx

Zamboni · 27/06/2014 12:01

Good news Pikz! Thanks S was the same - mucous causing problems but chest clear.

PetiteRaleuse · 27/06/2014 12:16

What a relief pikz - my girls have by and large escaped chest issues this year but that has not stopped me worrying about them and doing a happy dance every time I take them in and their chests are clear.

LO has been more about the ear infections this year Hmm

Excellent news anyway, sorry you have been so worried Flowers

Pikz · 27/06/2014 13:00

Thank you and sorry I've been absent and not commenting.

Coming out the otherside of lots of stress now.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Friday.

PR thank you and zamboni thank you for the dairy advice as it's really helped the mucous production here.
