Well today's big news is E has gained weight.....finally! She has gone from 8.3kg to 8.6kg. Am chuffed to bits. Thanks for thinking of us pr. I think your mac cheese recipe has a part to play in her gain Smile

zamboni glad you had a fab time and all is well with S.

gt It would be all very well having that attitude if it was a one off. But this drinking lark keeps rearing it's ugly head far too often. Hugs x

perse oh no Sad hope it's a resolvable situation.

Big waves to horsey

E also has very little in the way of fruit. She does however like the EK smoothie pouches and the innocent kids smoothies so she has those. I discovered this evening that she loves raspberries like me so we will have those more often. She also likes grapes but has trouble chewing them. She hates bananas, also like her mummy, but that's a shame as it's such an easy fruit to give.

Kyz · 26/06/2014 20:54

Good evening all. E is still awake, no idea why - well, it might be teeth related but he doesn't seem upset, giggling his merry little head off actually.

Oh, he's gone to sleep now

I did something good today. I wouldn't usually share such a thing but I am pleased with myself and I hoped maybe the quiche would understand. Nobody IRL is very bothered, when I could bounce off the walls for my achievement. I drove the car today. I am sure i've mentioned before I suffer from anxiety, I am terrible with people and I really struggle with driving, it is like torture for me. I'm basically a puddle of a person, who tries to pretend to be real. I used to drive myself to and from uni but that's pretty much all i'd do and that was a couple of years ago. Today, I drove the new car to my aunts house AND I had to get petrol. I have used a petrol station once on my own in the almost five years I have held a license. I may have used a petrol station maybe half a dozen times in total. Anyway. I promised my aunt i would visit so when i got in the car and it said 0 miles i went to get out but e seemed so upset i thought i could hold my breath to the petrol station less than half a mile away. I got there and had gone on the wrong side so went to go home but somehow forced myself to go back round the roundabout and try again. I did it. I even went in to pay. Went in. There is a list as long as my arm about things that terrify me about the above situation, but I did it. Just thinking about it makes me panic, but I hope it's a good step towards using the car more often. I realise i'm rediculous, but I can't hear you all sniggering at me on the tinterwebs so it's ok to tell you

Woohoo for ageing pussy not having kidney failure pass that's fab. Any idea what could be causing a stress response at all? bit odd if she doesn't seem stressed. How old is she again?

yay for the incisor chasing hopefully you'll have a good night tonight

glad you're having a good time atm digger you deserve it

Thanks for pointing out the pfb fred rowing some of it has had me in stitches!

That doesn't sound fun chick my youngest brother did that for a while, I am not sure anything stopped him, he just stopped doing it. I'll ask mum though.

Bless you izzy, I hope tonight is a good one for you especially

yw roaring at his lion jammies is just adorable. bless him!

eek at fleas bp I hate them! FC tis not going to be a problem, if you de-flea yours regularly i'm sure it'll go away as quickly as you found it. horrid things

gt i am not entirely sure how you cope. He needs to change though, you really do deserve better I second vqs suggestion of hidden veg too. Also, have you tried those veggie fingers? a bit like fish fingers but with peas and sweetcorn in? Not sure if he'd eat those but E had a couple today for lunch (With some actual veg, that he threw at me, and some other bits) and loved them. Figured it's a start, right?

pr I tried to do online courses with futurelearn and never did finish one due to time issues. There's some good ones coming up later in the year and i'm really hoping I have time to do at least one! I do like to keep my brain ticking over

perse have some hugs too, what happened? hope you're ok

lily I get e to eat fruit but not veg. Maybe they'll swap at some point? lol! I guess veg is better anyway because there's less sugar in it?

Passmethecrisps · 26/06/2014 20:56

Evening lassies and lad.

gt what's the chat tonight? I just can't get my head around your FH at all.

What on earth perse? I so hope that you are ok. Chat on FB if you need.

Lovely to have you back stunt. Missed you.

P is generally a friend of vegetables but I still do things like whizz them into pasta sauce and the like. Whenever I am making something like Cous Cous, rice or pasta I always boil a veg in with it. Sometimes she eats it and sometimes not. I never pass comment other than of she is 'nom nomming' her peas. Oh, and p loves soup. Any soup. Weird.

Which sister needed calpol vq? Hope she is ok.

DH is melting my brain with house chat. As soon as I come home he starts with figures and finances and I can't focus while p is awake. By the time she is asleep I am knackered and I am being shown house after house while he tried to gauge what I want. This is only frustrating because I have explained this a number of times and I feel like I am being worn down so that I will agree with what he wants. That makes it sound awful and it really isn't but oh jings how many times can I say I don't fancy a new build!!!???

Elizadoesdolittle · 26/06/2014 20:57

Oh and I meant to say gt E absolutely loves corn on the cob. It's so funny watching a girl that has trouble eating solids demolish a corn on the cob.

She also loves prawns, whole. Head included Shock She would be envious of your bag of prawns wanda.

Lily311 · 26/06/2014 21:00

kyz completely understand the car situation . chasing can tell you how anxious I was a month ago because I had to take refresher lessons. I am now confident and love driving and buying my own car next week. Just a peep talk from friends and a good instructor changed it so much but I know how is it about being anxious. Well done you!

Passmethecrisps · 26/06/2014 21:03

kyz!!!! You are quite something. I am so glad you shared that with us - this is a massive achievement and you should be extremely proud of yourself. Xxx

horsey! I miss you! I am so sorry to read about E's skin and breathing. Have the docs been remotely helpful? I am hesitating even as I write this but have your explored removing dairy from his diet shoot me down of you want to!

Elizadoesdolittle · 26/06/2014 21:04

kyz well done you. The more you do it the more confident you'll become. I'm glad you are proud of your achievement.

oh and bplp I meant to say Angry for fleas. Hope they bugger off swiftly.

Passmethecrisps · 26/06/2014 21:05

Oh fuck, yes. lily my DH just handed me a very large car part and was pretty Sad when I said I had no idea what it was. This is the man who buys me brake pads for my birthday. I am not ungrateful in the least. It is awesome but I could loan you him for a wee while for car purchase needs?

ChasingDaisy · 26/06/2014 21:08

Brilliant news on the weigh in Eliza Grin

Kyz, that made me want to give you a bit cuddle. I hope it's not patronising to say that I'm proud of you Smile

I think some of O's recent sleep issues have been grobag related - he slept much better once I unzipped him and just gave him a blanket. So I am now duvet shopping. Which tog am I looking for?

Zamboni · 26/06/2014 21:15

Pass I had the same thought about dairy for Horsey's E. Mind you that's pretty much an automatic response from me now. Worth a try?

Kyz well done - am so glad you shared with us!

Eliza fab news on the weigh in.

PetiteRaleuse · 26/06/2014 21:24

horsey welcome home! So sorry E has been ill again.

eliza that's great news you must be chuffed.

zamboni oh no I would never ever give a tiny dose of calpol to the jealous sibling oh no and my nose is not growing as I type oh no

Well done kyz i know about driving related anxiety. My ex shrink and I were talking today about drop off and picking up for the forest nursery. She said she'll take the kids in the morning and could I pick them up. I squeaked a yes. It involves motorways.

horseylady · 26/06/2014 21:24

pass I missed the quiche too!!

I have thought about it, but I'm told with a fair whack of certainty that's it's not intolerance related. When he was in hospital I questioned it. And have done several other times. But he has no other classic intolerance symptoms. You know? Both get better with anti biotics so I think there's an underlying strep infection that we just need to shift somehow. That's why I went to the dr to discuss that: but my mind went blank. Hopefully he's better so anyway:

horseylady · 26/06/2014 21:24

And kyz amazing achievement.

pr thanks.

Rowingdowntheriver · 26/06/2014 21:28

Fantastic effort kyz, no sniggering here just total respect for you taking on your fears. I do love your description of being a puddle of a person (though you certainky are not) and I could easily use it to describe myself in so many situations.

horsey sorry to hear that E has skin and breathing problems Sad My DS1 has asthma and it can be horrible - I felt at lived at the dr's / hospital for the best part of a year before we finally got it under control with the inhaler. He is like a different boy now and thankfully rarely gets ill and when he does it doesn't automatically mean a trip to a&e.

gt and perse Shock. Hope things are ok with you both this evening?

I'm shattered today. DD was up all night (expected as just turned 2 weeks today!) partly because she has a blocked nose so couldn't feed / breathe properly. Nose is still blocked so expecting another bad night tonight.

ValiumQueen · 26/06/2014 21:32

Great news about weight gain Grin

Welcome back Stunt and Horsey. You have both been missed Thanks

Kyz GrinGrinGrin < proud faces

Pass it wasn't calpol, she is fine :-)

ValiumQueen · 26/06/2014 21:33

Oh yes, I was also going to mention Dairy Horsey. YW will be here in a minute as she has an alert set up for the mere mention Wink

persepolis123 · 26/06/2014 21:35

Wahey eliza that's great news.

kyz that's a big step. Well done you!

I've posted some more detail on FB. Worried sick about how we will cope financially if DP loses his job.

BigPigLittlePig · 26/06/2014 21:42

Well done to E (and her chef) for weight gain, what a relief.

Hiya horsey.

Well done Kyz, v proud of you - and not sniggering, it must have taken lots of courage to do that.

Zamboni really glad to hear you are pox free, and enjoyed your hols

Hoping flea was a one off, house has been sprayed so should eliminate any of his mates. Bleurgh.

ValiumQueen · 26/06/2014 21:47

Kyz I need to face a great fear soon. I must overcome my fear of being seen in a swimming costume and take my kids to the pool. I know nobody else gives a flying pig's fuck what I look like, but it is just huge huge huge (and I don't just mean my arse!)

GTbaby · 26/06/2014 21:56

He goes from being a fab husband to not great 99% caused by drinking.

I have made a pasta sauce full of veg which he eats. So we have that a few times a week.
What are these veg fish fingers? Are they in frozen section. Will give those a go.
I think I need to be more adventurous as well.

ValiumQueen · 26/06/2014 22:11

Thank you Pikz Smile Thanks

YellowWellies · 26/06/2014 22:13

Horsey lots of docs don't know their arse from their elbow with intolerances, it really seems to depend on when they trained and if they have had personal experience of the issue.

Bad skin, pukey when younger, recurrent chest infections / cough / lots of mucus. All are classic symptoms. How are his poos (ah the charming conversations we have? can you imagine our babies reading these threads back as teenagers 'argh she's talking about my poo again Muuuuuum!')? And how's his sleep? Disturbed sleep and stinking rarely solid poos will indeed set off the YW mansion CMPI Awooga alarm. Grin

Kyz · 26/06/2014 22:14

Wow, you guys are amazing. Thankyou for being so supportive, you've made me smile and cry xxxx

Hey horsey sorry I cross posted and missed your post. Hope e's skin (and breathing) heals soon bless him

YAAAAAY eliza fab news re the weight gain!!! I have never tried e with prawns. I don't think. Unless I have and he doesn't like them. Will try them again anyway!

hope your night isn't as bad as you're expecting rowing and dd can breathe easier tonight

vq You're a very brave lady and I reckon you can do it. Especially if it means making your kids happy, because you're just that lovely you see.

GT Yes, you can get them in the frozen section, and I think you can make your own, I am going to look into it. Those and sweet potato fritters (i think, gosh i'm rubbish). Let me see if i can link, these kind of things I mean.... vegetable fingers or these ones
