Very impressed about the bed breaking PR Grin Pikz knows me so well Wink

Slightly better day at work thankfully, but I will be applying for the jobs in the Islands. I need to feel I have options.

DH's birthday today and DD2 decorated his cake. It had gingerbread men (icing ones), various sprinkles, One Direction Love Hearts, and pink candles Grin It was lovely.

ValiumQueen · 25/06/2014 20:24

Oh, and YW I buy Aldi own skips and hoops and he seems ok with them. They 'may have traces of dairy and soya'. His skin is improving and I think it might have been teeth related as Nursery swear he has not eaten anything he shouldn't. He has his incisors through now thank goodness. They have all broken through but still have a lot of growing obviously.

Kyz · 25/06/2014 20:44

Evening everyone, hope all is well :) E has been quite funny today, he got himself the bread, and insisted he fed the ducks so dp took him and this pleased him no end. I would've gone but was halfway through cleaning the kitchen and had to get tea on after that. He keeps calling me mumma which I can't help but find very sweet :)

Thanks all, I think it is just a case of things building up and the kind of honeymoon period bit wearing off
Hope you get a better night tonight chasing

Treats wise, E is not allowed fizzy drinks, he has had biscuits but I stick to plain biscuits and they're not a regular thing. He has had skips and pom bears. Basically anything in moderation. He adores jaffa cakes but they're a very rare treat, as are the teeny bags of chocolate buttons. He is a good boy, and whilst he does enjoy the odd sweet thing, I don't think he is terribly bad. Raisins and those fruit wriggles or whatnot are what he calls sweeties, and the little plum fruit teenies or whatever they're called.

LOL pr at bed breaking!

woo for tww pikz :)

Never thought to give tinned mackeral etc. I have always been put off by the smell. What do you give it with, may I ask? Shall try it for a lunch or something

Oh no wanda there is a great toddler food strike? E is bad enough as it is! :( As I said before he has gone off all veg but I am trying not to make a big deal out of it, I keep giving him veg and not making a fuss if he doesn't eat it. Does this sound right?

Glad you had a better day today vq :) and happy birthday to your dh sounds like he has had a lovely cake!

We are still waiting on eight teeth here, but today has been a dribbly one so you never know!

Hope good nights are had all round tonight :) I have my meals to plan this evening. Dp has made the suggestion of 'that lasagne you did last time' only I can't remember exactly how I did it...

misslaughalot · 25/06/2014 21:04

Just popping in to see how Chasing's night is going so far? O managed to get herself to sleep which hasn't happened for the last 2 nights, but only went 90 mins before waking screaming. Back asleep now but I don't hold out much hope that it'll be for long.

Hope you're having a better one!

Elizadoesdolittle · 25/06/2014 21:20

Haha vq love the cake. Bet he was thrilled, bless.

Passmethecrisps · 25/06/2014 21:23

Evening buxom wenches - especially you pr!

Lovely to see you kyz! Back on form you superstar. We all have out ups and downs and you have lots on. Never apologise for sounding off on here

And stunt Flowers

DH took aging pussy to the vet today. Apparently her urine is fine and she shows no sign of kidney failure which is great. However, she does think it might be a stress response. The thing is she doesn't seem stressed.

P has been funny with food recently but she sounds like a 40 a day girl so I assume she is sore. Tonight a caved and she ate her pasta one piece at a time while running back and forward from Ben and Holly on the telly. She has eaten almost nothing today so I was just pleased she ate at all.

She has a snack drawer which I fill with oat and fruit bars, date bars, bear fruit sweet things, Pom bears, Ella's kitchen yellow ones and the like. We don't have biscuits or chocolate in the house typically so it rarely is an issue. If we do or we are elsewhere then she gets a bit from mine. I agree with the idea of making nothing off limits (to a degree) and looking at food over a longer period. My mil takes such joy in seeing p eat a 'granny bun' that it would be cruel to deny them both!

YellowWellies · 25/06/2014 21:29

Urgh J only just fell asleep with two minutes to go to OBEM. He is hot, teething and wired. One of his favourite books at the mo is Meg and Mog go to the zoo. Tonight he learnt the line "catch that cat!" and repeated it at me with great enthusiasm on and off for the hour it took to get him to sleep....

Passmethecrisps · 25/06/2014 21:29

Oh! And I was filmed again today for the documentary!

YellowWellies · 25/06/2014 21:32

Pass great news that its not kidney failure. Mr Cats balding pussy syndrome appears to be a food allergy. In our house. I mean what are the odds Envy .

Kyz, Stunt lovely to see you.

ValiumQueen · 25/06/2014 21:35

Balding pussy syndrome Grin

Wandathewindfairy · 25/06/2014 21:35

prta I will look.

Date bars? They sound lovely. Like fig newtons? Do they make her poo though?

Passmethecrisps · 25/06/2014 21:40

You need to get him an allergy back pack yw

They are organix vq. I have dae and banana and date and apple. Basically pressed fruit in the shape of a little chocolate bar. Delicious! A tad on the expensive side but great as a treat. I keep my eye on the 3 for 2 offers as somewhere always has them.

GTbaby · 25/06/2014 22:34

H likes nuk banana bread. Which I bought on a fluke.
has dates which is great as he eats little fruit ATM.
He has had a few real crisps. Usually when out. He has had cakes and Indian sweets. But I have a strict no fizz or sweets rule. Like sugar candy, chewits etc. he has had choc once.
He has digestive biscuits on a daily basis. At one point I was giving him those weetabix biscuits as he wasn't eating anything else and I figured better breakfast biscuits then nothing at all. But trying to phase that out now.
Also adding sharing an apple while sat on park bench before coming home. He has enjoyed it last two days. So hope he will keep it up.

Wow epic post about nothing but food.

ChasingDaisy · 26/06/2014 04:46

Hey Miss Smile

Am pleased to report that we are having a much better night tonight. It turns out that one of his incisors popped through last night, which may have been the cause of the rubbish night. I hope your night is going well Thanks

diggerdigsdogs · 26/06/2014 05:08

Hello hello

I'm havig a cup of tea and a well deserved sit down. We all (r in pram, dd walking, diggerdog on lead) walked down to the local park with our NDN and her Dc. It was lovely and everyone had a great time. We then spent about an hour pottering about in the garden.

Weather is just glorious at the moment. It's 19* and beautiful but the buds are already out on the magnolia. We really haven't had any winter this year!

ValiumQueen · 26/06/2014 06:35

J touched the Queen's baton yesterday.

Rowingdowntheriver · 26/06/2014 07:35

pass that is good news about your cat. No idea what balding pussy syndrome is though?! What documentary are you being filmed for? I must have missed that in the thread.

With eating I was a lot more careful with DS1 than I was with DS2. Has anyone seen the pfb thread? I can relate to many of the examples on there!

With DS2 it was like he could just sense what food was better and would reject all the healthy stuff I'd offer him.

Actually I have just remembered that when I was weaning him he firmly rejected some puree and cucumber batons that I had lovingly prepared and grabbed a chicken drumstick from his brothers plate and took a bite. I have no idea how he did it but at 6 months with no teeth he managed to make a good impression on it!

A couple of friends were given good advice from health visitors / nutritionists when concerned about their children's eating and I always try to remember them when the boys diet is shoddy:

  1. A child actually only needs to eat one good full meal every 4 days to get enough to sustain them (great to know when they are refusing food)
  1. Look at their diet over the course of a week. Each meal / day does not need to be balanced so long as they are getting a good variety over the course of the week.
Elizadoesdolittle · 26/06/2014 08:35

digger that's lovely to read. Am very pleased things are going well at the moment.

Paisleychick · 26/06/2014 08:45

I think with the sweets and junk foods for me, it's more that H isn't asking for it than the actual giving it. He doesn't know it exists so I'm not going to introduce it.

The pfb is too funny. I think there is way too much pressure on parents and too much information that doesn't necessarily relate to your child and situation coupled with the fact that we are further away from family. With my first I was a bit like a fish out of water. A lot more relaxed with this one. Im going with my instincts a lot more.

H keeps doing this thing. It's a bit disgusting. He has been sleeping in just a vest and nappy and he poos in the morning. Not sure if it's the nappy or him but he keeps putting his hand in his pooey nappy and his vest the cot and everything is just covered. We need to remember to put shorts on him but keep forgetting. Not fun at all.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 26/06/2014 09:19

Have just read the last 4 pages to catch up. Thanks for the congrats... Hopefully I can keep it up.

I'm guilty of giving J some treats now and then as I do feel he misses out. E sometimes gets a small sweet after dinner or lunch if she's behaved well. A treat for her is yoghurt or maybe a teeny packet of haribo or something. J loves oreos.... Would you believe they are dairy free! Crazy eh? I think they say may contain traces but he's fine with them and we have pretty instantaneous reactions when he's not.

I'm exhausted today. J has been really bad at nights but I don't know why. He wakes crying and usually a quick pick up cuddle nd laying him back down and tucking him in works but I had to lift him 5 times yesterday and Dh had to take over. It's too awkward for me with the prolapses.

Love the bed breaking pr.... Guess you had fun!

Kids are currently watching some TV. E likes Ben and Holly and J looks engrossed just now!

Not much happening today. The play, talk, read bus is coming today so I'll pop to that later.

YellowWellies · 26/06/2014 09:29

J has new pyjamas from the Boots sale. They have a lion on them he wore them for the first time last night to much excitement. This morning when I got him from his cot I found him trying to poke his face inside his sleeping bag roaring at the lion on his tummy!

Izzy I'm finding it hard enough getting j in and out of the cot with my bump - it must be so tough for you xxx We are Oreo fans too!

BigPigLittlePig · 26/06/2014 09:38

I have just found a fucking FLEA on my sofa Envy Envy Envy Envy

I know it is not from our pets as both are treated and combed regularly. Can only think it must have come in from dhs work - he has been renovating a friend-of-a-friends house, and they have cats and a wayward attitude to cleanliness Envy Luckily have some industrial strength house de-flea-ing stuff so have just deployed that. Gross.

BigPigLittlePig · 26/06/2014 09:41

And sorry to hear J was up so much izzy.

YW we need pics of this troublesome wee bump! Am still well jell of the updiffed members amongst us, would love some newborn snuggles.

GTbaby · 26/06/2014 10:27

My lay in ruined today because Fh did nothing. Woke at 9.30 to H still in bed! A not fed. Fuming is an understatement.

PetiteRaleuse · 26/06/2014 10:57

yw that's a hilarious image.

Sorry for bad night izzy

eliza hope the weigh in goes well today

I've completed another online course on coursera this week. Am hoping for a pass with distinction. Not that it counts for munch but keeps the old brain ticking over.
