perse I wanted to be preg again straight away after our mmc before S, it took 9 months to catch again. It took us 12 months before that. So if you want to be pregnant again asap, I'd say go for it. We started trying again as soon as we could, I think like yw it would have definitely helped me to be pregnant again sooner.

Good luck for your scan eliza

Have a lovely time zamboni

misslaugh are you finding out the sex?

Looking forward to the firemen pics pr

We had a lovely time at swimming today, it's only the second time S has been, the first being when she was about 6 months, so ages ago now. She absolutely loved it, in the baby pool the water come to just under her chin, once she discovered that, she didn't want to know me, wouldn't let me hold her or anything, thank god for arm bands! She screamed when it was time to come out.

GTbaby · 23/06/2014 17:58

Yw A had a horse heart beat

Lily311 · 23/06/2014 18:40

perse I had first a mc in my late twenties and was advised to try again. was conceived 4 months after my second mc. I think go for it. O's heartbeat was always very slow, even when she was born (she was checked 100 times the first day, they were so concerned). I still say yw that you will have a second boy.

PetiteRaleuse · 23/06/2014 19:19

Pics on fb but disappointing. Couldn't get far enough away without looking obvious. One of them was first response when I dropped LO on her head last year. He remembered Blush

YellowWellies · 23/06/2014 20:19

Crumbs. Just found out an ex of mine (Greenpeace activist / climber, all round good egg) passed away today. He was only 34. Complications from malaria. He and his lovely Mrs were in the process of setting up a permaculture commune in her native Brazil. He'd survived very aggressive leukaemia as a teenager and always had a slightly ethereal nature as if he were living on borrowed time. He fitted so much in to a short life. He was always getting arrested for direct action protests (climbing power station towers, stopping coal trains) but was a real gentle soul. [sad Life is short eh make sure you're living in a way that makes you joyful and proud.

misslaughalot · 23/06/2014 20:31

Fruit, no we're doing to keep it a surprise again, if we can!

Well, O has not coped well with the heat at all today. I picked her up from nursery at 5 and we usually have an hour together at some point during which DP gets home, then bath time is at 6. But we got home today and nothing was right. She wanted to go in the garden. But cried when we were out there. Then she asked for a drink. Then batted it out of my hand when I gave it to her. So I put it on the floor. And she smacked it across the room. By 5.20 she was signing sleep, but DP hadn't got back so we just laid on the sofa with crayons and paper, which she wanted to eat and screamed when I took them away. Bedtime couldn't come fast enough! And then she wouldn't fall asleep by herself. It's been at least 6 months since I've had to sit by her cot until she dropped off which took 90 mins tonight.

Anyone else's LO stuggling with the heat?

Might go and see if the chocolate on my massive Jaffa cake has set...

PetiteRaleuse · 23/06/2014 20:32

That is very sad yw :( Flowers

misslaughalot · 23/06/2014 20:32

Gosh YW how sad, 34 is so young. Were you still in touch?

Passmethecrisps · 23/06/2014 20:52

Life is short, indeed yw. It sounds like he packed in much to be proud of though.

BigPigLittlePig · 23/06/2014 22:19
Wine

Tired zzzz

PetiteRaleuse · 24/06/2014 06:07

Morning all. How was that giant jaffa cake?was it the recipe from MN I saw highlighted a couple of weeks ago?

Wandathewindfairy · 24/06/2014 06:46

Yumster.

Am nearly done with me he planning for yanks.

Off on an expedition to a large Tesco this morning after dropping the bys at nursery.

Love a cook up. Am excited. Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 24/06/2014 07:06

What are your menu plans wanda ?

DD1 has her first of two settling in mornings at school today

ChasingDaisy · 24/06/2014 07:50

Well hello 18 month sleep regression. No naps and shit night sleep you say? Excellent.

BigPigLittlePig · 24/06/2014 08:10

Brew chasing

izzybizzybuzzybees · 24/06/2014 08:33

We didn't have a great night here and naps are usually just if he falls asleep on me or in the pram. I've always been very envious of those babies who would reliably nap. He would only have half an hour at most!

On the plus side I lost 3.5lbs at SW and I'm going to the gym today. There's not much I can do due to the prolapses but I at least feel. I'm doing something useful.

Kids currently eating breakfast.... Very slowly! Nursery is at 9am....im literally counting down the minutes as the both go. J until 11.30 and E til 4! That's not good is it... I think I may have a nap rather than tidy..... Again not a good plan but seems like a good idea To me!

YellowWellies · 24/06/2014 08:49

J stole some cheese and onion crisps from a dining companion at nursery yesterday. The nursery nurses reckoned it was just the one and they tried to fish it out. I was dreading last night, but other than a wake up at 10.30 when he was clearly in pain from tummy cramps he slept til 8.30am. Maybe he's starting to outgrow it or maybe they did fish it all out?

BigPigLittlePig · 24/06/2014 08:59

Nap sounds like a splendid idea Izzy - and well done on the weight loss.

YW I'm not sure what to make of the crisp incident, I guess no reaction at all is definitely progresa, given how he would previously react to traces when you were feeding him?

Chasing I hope your wee nap dodger starts sleeping again soon, the non-sleeping is impossible when you've become accustomed to a good nights kip!

Have we heard from kyz recently? Hoping all is ok in Chateau Kyz.

And GT, are the ILs back?

Lily311 · 24/06/2014 09:17

Morning,

Hope stunt is ok too.
All good here, looking after my sister's kids once again. I'm already too tired.

YellowWellies · 24/06/2014 09:43

Argh nappy explosion coating him and the highchair. So he's still reacting to dairy then!

misslaughalot · 24/06/2014 11:23

PR yes it was the MN jaffa cake recipe, it's yum! Will put a pic on FB in a bit. Hope DD1's settling in morning went well.

Chasing Brew to keep you going today, hope the sleep regression doesn't last too long. O had a bad night here last night, but I'm hoping it was just the heat and nothing more

Hope you got your nap in Izzy

O has developed a real hatred of either me or DP blowing our nose near her, she bursts into tears! We've tried letting her know it's coming, and we've tried laughing at it to show her it's a funny noise, but neither method seems to be working (and as we both have hayfever we are blowing our noses a LOT!). Any ideas on how else we can handle it, or is leaving the room our only option Confused?

PetiteRaleuse · 24/06/2014 11:47

Oh no yw poosplosions are not fun. Hopefully he just got a tiny tiny trace. Do they give kids at nursery crisps? I give mine crisps occasionally but I thought British schools and nurseries were big on healthy eating nowadays.

chasing after a day of no naps a bad night often follows at this age. You have my sympathy.

izzy hope you got some rest.

I've been chatting with the owner of the forest nursery DD1 will go to for mornings and lunch during the two week break in July. She sounds really nice. I wish it was closer and cheaper as I would send LO there full time if I could it sounds brilliant. In fact I wouldn't mind going myself it sound like fun!

I'm reading an interesting child psychology book at the moment called "The Whole Brain Child". It's based on neuroscience but is very readable, possibly more useful as our DC get older. It's a bit gentle parenting for me but still interesting and well worth reading if you like the psychology.

As of next Tuesday I will be officially unemployed and preparing to start up my business. Exciting! Still don't have a name for it. Am on twitter though under my real name though if anyone wants to follow me

Also next Tuesday is nursery's annual summer evening party. The theme is, original this one, Brazil and football Hmm

Qq. I need to get a first birthday present for a boy I've never met, whose mum I never met, whose dad I have only met a couple of times. Any ideas? What do one year olds like? Why am I finding this so difficult?

PetiteRaleuse · 24/06/2014 11:49

Waiting for news of eliza's scan too...

Elizadoesdolittle · 24/06/2014 12:03

Ah thanks pr. Scan went well. Baby all present and correct with due date of 2nd Jan. Yikes.

One year olds are tricky. How about a wooden peg hammer thing? Not that I've explained it well!
