Pass ignore the advice of old women in supermarkets - unless they're congratulating you on how awesome P is - its a long time since they had babies! If snotty noses and a temperature mean a fatwa on leaving the house we'd have starved this winter. Smile

Fargo finale and strawberries and cream here at chez Wellies! Far too excited - its been such a good series. I'll mourn its loss next Sunday.

Passmethecrisps · 22/06/2014 20:53

Thank you yw. I have never had an issue before and It knocked the wind from my sails a bit. I hate callous germ spreading - adults coughing and sneezing without a hanky, sending kids to school with D&V - but a slight cold? Quite possibly teeth anyway as one canine has just popped through. I wish I had a thicker skin.

Telly wise we are working our way through homeland and are waiting for a The Fall DVD to arrive. Fargo sounds just my cup of tea.

ValiumQueen · 22/06/2014 20:59

Educational Psychologist is the perfect job for you. I nearly suggested it actually. Pays well too I believe. Psychology is extremely competitive though, and takes a long long time AFAIK. Not that you couldn't do it, but it all needs to be considered.

Poor J looks like a giraffe, skin wise anyway, his neck is in proportion.

I have had a shitty day with PMT and DH being a twat. He admitted he was, not just me seeing him through a hormonal filter.

misslaughalot · 22/06/2014 21:00

YW also waiting for Fargo to start, have loved it with its little nods to the film, yet taking its own path.

Took O to the park this morning (wondering if it was the same park that Fruit was at?!) to feed the ducks, then play in the playground. DP and I got ice creams after but O decided that licks just weren't enough and pretty much wrestled it off me to eat it, being generous enough to offer me the occasional lick while she polished it off. Have put a pic on FB of her creamy face.

BP does it hurt to sit down?!

Digger glad you are home! how are things today?

Wanda I'm another one who thinks a cooking course is a great gift, I'd love to do one. And a wanton hotel night with your DH sounds fab!

misslaughalot · 22/06/2014 21:01

Aaarrrggghhhm no! Wanda that reads really wrong! I meant a night for you with your DH sounds fab!

Passmethecrisps · 22/06/2014 21:10

Lol!!! Hahaha! I am quite sure that wanda was not concerned that you were about to seduce her man! I also think it sounds ace.

Sorry you have had a shite day vq. Fuck PMT. You have a season pass to aforementioned animal hostel? We should go together.

And thanks for the support re ed psych. It has been bubbling away for a while but it has seemed too hard to do given our life. But, with DH working now there is no reason I can't at least do some research. My understanding that a top scale unprompted ed psych gets what I get now as an upper middle manager (if such a position exists?) in school. I could probably trade in years of experience for pay as that certainly used to happen in teaching. I would lose my school holidays though so it would need to be a very careful decision

BigPigLittlePig · 22/06/2014 21:10

MissLaugh thankfully it isn't that bad. Bedtime could be interesting though as my left shoulder where dh missed with the cream, idiot is a bit delicate!

Passmethecrisps · 22/06/2014 21:11

Maybe I could start a thread? Probably more withy than the "I am allergic to nail varnish but can I use gel instead?" Thread I was going to start

Passmethecrisps · 22/06/2014 21:13

Oooo. I missed that you were burned bp. Horrid! I burned tngr tops of my feet in Cornwall some years ago and it was absolutely awful. I ended up getting some cream that the nurses laboured had been developed for napalm victims. My wee paws still don't look quite right. I hope it is a case of one night resolves it. Aloe Vera works a treat

Passmethecrisps · 22/06/2014 21:13

And that should read worthy ^

Rowingdowntheriver · 22/06/2014 21:17

Ha ha misslaugh!

I have a story about an old lady in a supermarket.

When DS1 was about 8 months old he was sitting in the trolley when a really old lady tottered over and started cooing over him. She was stroking his face and had her face up close to his. A few minutes after we walked away from her I noticed something in DS's mouth. A boiled bloody sweet! She had snuck it in his mouth.

Beware of old ladies in supermarkets!

BigPigLittlePig · 22/06/2014 21:53

Rowing Shock

ValiumQueen · 22/06/2014 22:06

Pass sounds like a plan Smile

BP make sure you watch a few videos on YouTube and perhaps get a cheap kit from the Works so you can practice. You will be so very cool if you can show her how to do them.

YellowWellies · 22/06/2014 22:21

Oh Fargo I'm going to miss you! Best thing on telly since the Fall. Proper dark, touching portraits of characters in places and not an ounce of fluff or treating the audience as if they're dim. I luffed it! What are we going to watch now? Confused

misslaughalot · 22/06/2014 22:32

I'm exhausted after Fargo YW! Held my breath through so much of it's laughed out loud at others. What a fab series.

Did you watch Les Revenants when it was on?

fruitpastilles · 22/06/2014 22:32

We didn't go to that park misslaugh just the one by us.
pass I'd definitely take no notice of that old lady if that's what she said, S quite often has a snotty nose so we'd hardly leave the house if that was the case.

We finished homeland a couple of weeks ago, loved it! I've just started on sons of anarchy, 2 episodes in and I really like it.

Wow vq my dp would never ever admit to being a twat, and he's one quite often! I think I'd feel quietly satisfied if he did. Sorry you've had a rotten day though. Thanks

fruitpastilles · 22/06/2014 22:34

My ipad quite often changes my commas to exclamation marks, sometimes I don't notice to change it back, so sorry if I'm being over !!!!'ey

Wandathewindfairy · 22/06/2014 22:45

Hahahahahaha! DH will be chuffed!

I will catch up with Fargo tomorrow. Am looking forward to it. I have loved too.

Honestly pass Once you have another, inparticular, you find that you can't not go out because of common cold symptoms. That lady was living in another world. Life has to go on. Try not to worry about what people think, as we have said many a time everyone has their own ideas and some of the older generations can be uber tactless about sharing them.

Wandathewindfairy · 22/06/2014 22:46

Mine does too fruit

Although I do have a tendency to shout and over exclaim in real life.

PetiteRaleuse · 23/06/2014 05:57

Morning all.

Why is everyone in my house up so early? Including the wasps

At least the days are getting shorter now

ValiumQueen · 23/06/2014 06:31

I shared a bedroom with a wasp. Couldn't find the fucker anywhere. I guess he snuggled down for the night too. I thought I would dream about wasps but no - lots and lots of naughty sex. I am exhausted but GrinGrinGrinShockWink

PetiteRaleuse · 23/06/2014 06:41

Lucky you! I dreamed about wasps :(

Zamboni · 23/06/2014 07:21

Grin VQ

S still unmarked. DD fully scabbed over/spots fading. No current grounds to cancel hol before it starts as no one contagious as of now. Our hol is a mon-fri thing. DC could still go to nursery today as planned (due to no reduction for holidays) but as we are on leave I'm happy to keep them off. I figure that until S is poxy we might as well make the most of the hol, check in as soon as possible and enjoy whatever time we have on hol until the pox appears, if it does. So unless a spot appears before we need to leave, think we will head off.

Passmethecrisps · 23/06/2014 07:38

Morning. Pooped. P struggled over night - coughing, wanting water, wanting the light on, wanting the light off and finally some whimpering.

Thank you for your reassurance about the lady. Frankly, p was in absolutely fine form really but her patience for old ladies giving unsolicited stroking was a bit thin. I am very shocked at your story fruit! Surely choke hazards have always been choke hazards?!

PetiteRaleuse · 23/06/2014 07:43

zamboni presumably you can come back if he gets the pox? Enjoy and fx.

Klaxon alert! Just called the mayor's office to ask who can deal with my nest. They have said to call the fire service. I'm going to have firemen in my house Wink

might be me having the dirty dreams tonight
