Started a new thread for us before we run out of room.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Barbeasty · 06/06/2014 05:45

If you're leaving her and don't have to stay then make them find the head while DD is with her teacher.

We had an awful night. A didn't want to go to sleep bit eventually did, then woke at 12 and 2. Then DD wet the bed and woke at 4. Lovely- and no writing in the red book unless he's better tonight!

Glad you're getting sorted Utopian

SpottyTeacakes · 06/06/2014 06:24

Oh no beasty at least it's Friday!

Dp forgot to buy more coffee Angry

Do I call the head by her first name or mrs x?! Blush

ddas · 06/06/2014 06:41

I'd maybe mrs x?

Hope it all goes well spotty

Lost the thread in last couple of weeks. Work been manic and the wedding season has hit so every wkend seems to be jam packed.

utopian great that you are finally in! But can emphasise with the dust. Dh insisted on doing our flat refurb himself so took forever by which time ds had arrived. The dust just gets everywhere! Glad our house now required less work although he is halfway through redoing the downstairs bathroom but promises me there's not much left!!

hales hope dd is better you really have had infection after infection haven't you. Although reassuring that she is still growing well & putting on weight with regards to underlying causes.

ddas · 06/06/2014 06:42

I'd say mrs x?

MrsNutella · 06/06/2014 09:07

Spotty I'd go with Mrs X too.

Utopian we moved and didn't have builders and it's still stressing me out that I seem to have no time (or energy) to sort things out.

I'm really struggling with the heat at the moment. On top of that I'm not sleeping great and I'm all round fairly miserable really.
DH accused me of being negative about his family coming to visit - it's a long story but basically his brother and SIL, cousin and DH live close ish but we never see them. I would say it's mostly because they never call us, DH doesn't call them very often and he hasn't actually invited them over in quite a long time. So how it is suddenly my fault I don't know but it is really pi**ng me off!!!!

SpottyTeacakes · 06/06/2014 11:56

It's not good news beasty. I've updated my thread...

Barbeasty · 06/06/2014 13:08

Strangely I saw the update before this.

I don't think it's on. I think you need to get the experts over on education to draft you a response with the relevant legislation to tell them DD is going full time straight away.

Maybe be nice and say if they didn't have the older children full time earlier you'd understand, but there isn't space across the road and you can't find or afford a childminder to cover the slack, so you're sorry but you'll have to exercise your right to send her full time.

DH has been useless with our school start. He was adamant that he could cover it by working from home. Until I expressed surprise that he could do that for 6 consecutive weeks. Then he finally took in the issue!! And I can't arrange anything until I start my job.

WLmum · 06/06/2014 18:15

Ok beasty send some of that luck my way - I've got a job interview on Monday! Eek - my first in 6 years! Right now I'm waiting for the train to clapham to meet my pals then next stop Brighton! I'm feeling a bit nervous now (of course T has been clingy and got a massive bump on her head today). Just as well there's some Dutch courage in my bag!

spotty sorry to hear that the school start is resulting in such tough issues. Do you know any other parents who have kids starting in sept? Could you do a childcare swap? Surely you can't be the only one who is going to find it tough - the school must have come across this before?

SpottyTeacakes · 06/06/2014 19:13

We don't know anyone WL.

Beasty it's so stressful isn't it. To make my day even worse when I was tightening dd's seat straps my hand slipped and I smacked myself in the eye, my nail cut it and I think I'm going to get a black eye Sad

WillYouDoTheFandango · 06/06/2014 20:20

That sounds really hard Spotty, I hope the he's is more helpful. When do you go away?

Good luck WL, I went for an interview on Wednesday. Not heard anything yet, but I have a friend who works there who thinks that I will get it but they're rubbish at getting back to people. There's noone else being interviewed as it's more the kind of place where they create a job for you if they like you.

I will be moving on Thursday Shock I've still done hardly any. My vendors are being really arsey too. My mortgage application went in 3 weeks ago and they've already chased me 3 times to see why it's not sorted. The estate agent keeps shouting at me too! Then when I explained that the current average for a mortgage is 12-13 weeks she said "Oh yes I know, we have other people in the exact same position!" So why is she shouting at me? Surely the estate agent should be managing the expectations of the vendors and not ringing me every 2 minutes? Angry

Barbeasty · 06/06/2014 22:06

Good luck with all the job hunting. And the moving house.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 07/06/2014 05:37

J seems to think that 4:30am = playtime. He is very very wrong!

SpottyTeacakes · 07/06/2014 05:55

WillYou that would make me so Angry we're off on Tuesday but as it's a super early flight we're going there Monday to drop our bags off and have lunch, can show the dc the planes too then Tuesday morning we can just get up and go.

Mil wanted to come over Sunday afternoon and I said no. Dp got a bit pissed off but I've got loads to do. I haven't started packing, still need to do some washing including bedding and towels and the whole place needs hoovering etc so I really don't want anyone here. I already asked him not to invite her over today so I'm not sure why he thought tomorrow would be better Confused sorry for rambly post. Everyone's asleep apart from me Hmm

utopian99 · 07/06/2014 06:20

We're up spotty - have been since 4.30. Urgh. O's teeth are messing with his sleeping and I have either ferocious hayfever or a cold (or the Devil Dust is winning.) Ds can't take him as the teeth are making him super clingy too...

willyou that's crap of the agent, they really do so little to justify the fee. Can you do anything to push the mortgage company? I am pretty versed in the process these days -and a right pushy so and so-- and still find they need to be physically called every few days to get anything done. Having said that, you can complete in 2 months if you make a nuisance of yourself.

SpottyTeacakes · 07/06/2014 06:23

I'm having a cup of tea (yuck! We're out of coffee and don't even have earl grey) enjoying the peace. I need to go to tesco to get last minute bits so might go in a bit when it's still nice and quiet, it's a forty minute drive away though.

Which teeth is it? Ds hasn't had any through for a while he's not got canines yet

Maryland2013 · 07/06/2014 07:13

Where are you going on hols Spotty?

SpottyTeacakes · 07/06/2014 07:15

We're going to zante Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 07/06/2014 09:37

Massive storm here atm!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 07/06/2014 11:15

I'm going through a financial advisor, a friend of a friend. He's turned out to be a bit of a PiTA himself. He just never ever answers his calls and gets his assistant to say he's in a meeting all the time and take a message. Then He never rings you back.

Oh well you live and learn.

halestone · 07/06/2014 12:33

Willyou i hope it all gets sorted quickly and also i have my fx that you get the job.

Spotty i am so Envy of your holiday.

WL good luck with your interview on tuesday.

Utopian, i really hope your house is all sorted soon and that DS's teeth stop hurting him soon.

On thursday my dad went the drs to be told he that he could have mumps! His face is huge with the swelling. Yesterday my mum was taken to hospital as she keeps having funny turns, shes home now but had to go back on tuesday for an MRI. And yesterday DP had a tooth out which took 2 hours to get out and left him in alot of pain!

OP posts:
SpottyTeacakes · 07/06/2014 12:37

Barbeasty · 07/06/2014 14:08

Impressive though Pidj.

Hales you don't have much luck with illness. Hope everyone is feeling better soon.

We got DD a tie, book bag and school cardigans today. You can take it back in 90 days if you have tags and receipts- I thought we'd get it before they run out in the summer holidays.

PurplePidjin · 07/06/2014 18:22

He managed a few drops on the toilet when we got home from my parents' this afternoon :o fingers crossed for tomorrow, sunday school in the morning (he'll be ok there as he knows where the toilet is, it's one of the places he's asked to go already) and a birthday party in the afternoon in a scout hut, fingers crossed it even has a loo!
