ValiumQueen · 05/04/2014 08:06

Hello all Smile not too bad a night in Valium Palace. The little Prince was up a few times and ended up in with the King and Queen, but the Princesses slept well and seem fine this morning.

Sophia I love your drunken ramblings Grin

ValiumQueen · 05/04/2014 08:10

I will be known as Granny when the time comes. My mum is Grandma, and MIL is Nana. They get most offended if anyone gets it wrong. I once dared to send a Mother's Day card to MIL with Grandmother on (technically correct) and she was furious apparently. I then sent one to Nanna, on purpose, and got a similar reaction. Like it matters?

BP I do hope you are soon cosied up in bed, and had a peaceful shift (((hug)))

applepieinthesky · 05/04/2014 08:16

Morning quiche.

It's reassuring that other quiche babies are at the same stage with language. C babbles all the time and he can understand instructions etc in two languages which is better than me so he's not doing too badly.

DP has taken the dog out then we are sorting out C's bedroom. It's time to pack away the clothes he has outgrown. What's the best way to store them in the loft? Do you think bin liners will be ok? Our house is only 7 years old and there are no damp problems. Or should I go out and buy some of those vacuum pack bags?

sophia I love that you proposed and didn't wait around for him to ask you.

pass have a fabulous time in Italy Smile

applepieinthesky · 05/04/2014 08:22

VQ we are very particular too. My grandmother is nana and my mum is Nan to C. At Mother's day and birthdays I have to find cards with the spelling exactly right. Nanna or Nanny don't cut it.

Zamboni · 05/04/2014 08:30

Hello! Another manic week for me - I am reading and keeping up (just about!) but not managing to post often. I do think of lots of things to say as I read along.

VQ I am glad you are signed off. You need a break from something - work is probably the easiest thing to break from. Apple I think that's quite normal but try not to dwell. PP glad you had some music group attendees! Sophia what a lovely story. Lily hope your recovery continues to go well. Pikz not long until the big day! I'm also jealous of the Pass family holiday. Eliza glad some weight went on.

All ok here in spite of hecticness. Grin S is 17 months, wearing 18-24month clothes, needs new PJs in 2-3 (pjs always come up small on him), bulldozing his way around in size 5 shoes which I am sure are now too small.

The sort of dairy free seems to be helping. He sleeps better and coughs less as a general rule. Hasn't been in his cot at all for about a month now. Once he sleeps reliably then back in he will go, possibly into a toddler version. He seems fine with accidental small doses of cows milk but we're using oatly and other substitutes to reduce the impact which seems to be working. He hasn't had a yoghurt for almost a month! We get through lots of jelly!Confused

I ditched the bottles last weekend as the sight of the dirty ones stacked on the side annoys me. S is completely unconcerned. He doesn't mind the beaker, drinks a little less but bedtime milk is a comfort thing not a nutritional one for him. He eats so much that it can't be. Last night he had three helpings of curry. Grin

Charity shop bargain hunting and cake baking for today as the weather is crap.

StuntNun · 05/04/2014 08:50

Apple we have been storing clothes in the loft in bin bags for years with no problems. I recommend buying the transparent ones so you can easily see what's inside and double bag if you can as bin bags can rip quite easily. We use cardboard luggage ties bought from the supermarket to label the bags or if you use transparent ones you can write on a sheet of A4 and stick it inside the bag.

J slept well last night, only one wake up and was easily settled. Between potential intolerances and teething I have no clue what's going on with him. We have had awful nights interspersed with great nights with seemingly no link to diet so I'm inclined to pin the blame on teeth. He's in a great mood this morning so he's definitely better after a good night's sleep.

I am bandage free. Feels great. Dr said it was healing ok.

Funny about the cloth storage, I wanted to ask about it as well. I have some plastic boxes but my sister dumped her kids' clothes on me so there are 8 of them full (no need to worry about clothes until she is 8). I think I will get some vacuum bags and put those there which she has outgrown.

Glad the princesses slept well and you had a decent night Queen.

Lily311 · 05/04/2014 08:58

What kind of cake zamboni?

BigPigLittlePig · 05/04/2014 11:19

Goodnight pig xx

Just getting ready for my date. Will update you all later Grin

Zamboni · 05/04/2014 11:40

Lily I've not decided. DD asked for Penny Morris cupcakes. (Penny Morris is Fireman Sam's sidekick and DD's heroine/imaginary friend/BFF). Not sure what that means Confused

Sophiathesnowfairy · 05/04/2014 12:07

Night night piggy

Oo can't wait for all the gory details chasing

Sophiathesnowfairy · 05/04/2014 12:08

Can you get, In the supermarket, Fireman Sam cupcake kits with little edible Penny Morris and Fireman Sam rice paper thingies that balance on top? zamboni

Zamboni · 05/04/2014 12:20

Good idea sophia. I do have some FS toppers from amazon in which Penny features so I think that's what we will do.

PetiteRaleuse · 05/04/2014 14:15

We weren't going to go out today but ended up going to the local small animal park. It has a great play area and is in the forest. Glad you survived pig hope you get a decent rest now x

YellowWellies · 05/04/2014 17:33

OMG the Jack and Jill sale was immense! Got a scuttlebug, slide, v tech garage and 3 light and sound vehicles, half a dozen board books, drum, all singing and dancing playmat for new baby and a push along fire engine for £32. And managed to agree to buy a Wendy house, outdoor slide, seesaw and sand / water table from my sister's playgroup for £30 - they're doing up the playgroup garden and they are going spare and a bit old and battered. Jonas is never getting new toys again! Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 05/04/2014 17:47

Envy yw

PurplePidjin · 05/04/2014 17:58

Grrrrrrr, the venue double booked me this morning - the other group knew as my group is on the calendar, but the person my dad is supposed to run it with hadn't bothered to let anyone know or to reply to either emails or phone calls. I'm seriously considering just ditching the whole thing and finding a new venue Angry I'd have happily cancelled at 24 hours notice if anyone had bothered to let me (or dad) know Angry any advice on what to say would be appreciated - leaving out the family connection, I would have given them a fiver a week for years if this person had bothered to have any respect or consideration. It's a small, community run venue.

Did go shopping with my two mates who showed up for class though :o I got age 2-3 Gap socks half price at £1 a pair and a v cute green rain jacket with lizards on (Asda) for R in 18-24, fleece lined and water resistant so should do him all summer :o

YW is there going to be any garden left in your garden once the toys are in? Envy

Lily311 · 05/04/2014 18:05

yw that's great value.
pp how annoying.

We spent the day with my parents, little girl is in bed now. I'm watching greys anatomy.

YellowWellies · 05/04/2014 18:12

Back garden is just lawn (and spring bulbs), a few herb pots, decking and summerhouse and it's a good size so yes it'll all fit. I'm not doing anything else with it for a year or two until the pup calms a bit as she'd just dig any plants up - hence my front garden is overflowing with lovely plants safely out of her reach!
