Today I feel contented. Dhs job was looming over us for a while, and a big source of stress. We have been to the garden centre, dug the flowerbeds, unveiled some cracking compost, and F has had her first bike ride. All helped by wall to wall sunshine Grin (sorry PR).

Chasing, glad to know you are functional today, onwards and upwards?

Pidj that is impressive!

PurplePidjin · 16/03/2014 17:49

Well, he refused the sausage and bread I offered when he woke up (which he normally loves) then ate a honey sandwich and half a banana for my mum. Then ate 3/4 of a mini muffin, refused the stew I defrosted (which he loves) and reluctantly ate 2 (big) strawberries chopped up with a fromage frais for dinner. I gave him some milk to drink and have popped him in bed, just hope he isn't hungry in the night Sad I'm going to roll with what he wants to eat for now and hope he's just needing less food now he's not growing as much and not becoming a fussy little sod! His eyes gunked up again over the course of the afternoon and his nose has been streaming, so I think it's just cold and the canines finishing breaking through - I haven't needed to get up to him, although he's been calling out several times and waking me, for the last two nights which I would like to see continue Hmm

ChasingDaisy · 16/03/2014 18:20

O just took his first unaided steps GrinGrinGrin whilst he was desperately trying to get away from me and towards XP, but still - steps!

BP good way of thinking - it's no longer looming and now you can start to move on!

Yay O!!!GrinGrinGrin

S has been super unhappy today. Sore bot, so much dribble that he needs a new t-shirt at least once an hour, cough, cough, cough, miserable unhappy tantrums all day. Bloody teeth. On the plus side he likes the Oatly and after a dose of Calpol and a bath with me, he perked right up at toy story.

Dinner with DH then he is going to pop to work so I will be watching shite American tv for teenagers while pretending to doing menu plans and budgets. Grin

MsJupiter · 16/03/2014 19:46

GrinGrin Chasing that is great news, well done O. I find at the moment whoever has been with him & then leaves the room gets a dramatic response and a plaintive "doggohhhhhh". It must be hard to deal with when it's xp but very normal.

Great positive attitude BP. Good things to come your way I hope.

We were at a toddler gathering today and L was super clingy and tearful. Refused all the nice food on offer despite being clearly hungry. Eventually gave him some Calpol as he was chewing his fingers and he perked up and ate some fruit & snacks. Bit of a sore bot tonight so maybe we'll get another tooth, we are well overdue.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 16/03/2014 20:10

Toy story cheered us up this week too!

pp I think when they have a cold you just have to go with it, O hardly ate anything yesterday except yoghurt but today he he devoured beans and mash with cheese at lunch time despite being zonked, and then he had beef, mash, gravy, Yorkshire pudding, carrots, peas, sweetcorn and beans for tea, followed by apple pie and ice cream.

Bloody AF has still not turned up despite saying she would be here on
Friday. Just rood I call it. I have a horrible feeling when she arrives it will be with a bang. I have felt rough all day, prob mainly because I had a late night last night with the SILs and we are having abusy working weekend. I just feel generally exhausted and run down. That may have so ethi g to do with AF staying away. Grrrr.

Elizadoesdolittle · 16/03/2014 20:14

chasing that's brilliant. well done O.

sounds lovely bp glad you are feeling more positive about the situation.

Wall to wall sunshine here too. looks like that's the last of the sun here for a while but no rain due and warm so I'll take that. Going to get a 10ft trampoline for the girls this week. Or maybe 12ft. Hmmm decisions decisions.

My Mum and I are going to attempt this ^ place tomorrow - the new one opening is a longish but doable walk from my place. Are we mad to take a Small to somewhere with so many fragile things? They have a play area apparently Hmm and it's round the corner from The Range and Dunelm

Once more with linkies...

ValiumQueen · 16/03/2014 20:19

Eliza just be prepared to have every kid in the street in your yard! And when it is windy be prepared to go outside and hold it. And mowing the lawn is even more of a bastard job can you tell I hate trampolines and was really glad when ours died?

Passmethecrisps · 16/03/2014 20:19

Evening all.

On has been a dribbly, snotty. Wants to do whatever she dashed well pleases (no change there then) little lady today. She eventually got about an hour in the car which is ok and was mainly chipper the rest of the time.

Hooray for first steps!!!! Woot for O chasing!

We were looking at a house today and p kept running into the kitchen and swishing one arm around as though showing me the space a la estate agent.

You have a fantastic attitude bp. Sounds like the perfect day.

ValiumQueen · 16/03/2014 20:20

Asda do the best value one IIRC. Jumpking brand.

flouncymcflouncerson · 16/03/2014 20:44

Best value what vq? Have u missed something?

flouncymcflouncerson · 16/03/2014 20:44

I not u!

Passmethecrisps · 16/03/2014 20:46

Trampoline I think.

ValiumQueen · 16/03/2014 21:05

Trampoline. Grin

BigPigLittlePig · 16/03/2014 21:15

F lurves our friends trampoline. Sadly for her, mean mummy won't be buying one as too scared of broken bones.

Urgh tired now. And a little queasy after nomming chocolate pudding.

Elizadoesdolittle · 16/03/2014 22:02

Thanks vq My friend recommended the asda jumpking one and since the wise quiche mummy has spoken then the decision is final, the 10ft asda one it is :-) I may well live to regret it but it will be such a hit with DD1 that I just can't resist. I can envisage having all manor of the girls friends over, I am happy with that as long as they are nice kids and mowing the lawn is DH's job so he can suffer it. Although he wants to get one of those mowers that do it itself. A robot mower thing. Anyway....I digress!

pass I can just imagine P doing that. Love her.

Elizadoesdolittle · 16/03/2014 22:35

On a completely different note....ear wax! E gets loads of it. I try and clear it out everyday in the bath as best I can but she hates it and it's quite tricky. I've never known anything like it. The BBC website had an article on ear wax so I read it and managed to convince myself for a brief second that E has Maple Syrup Urine Disease she doesn't. bloody google. But do any of the other quiche babies get loads of ear wax? How do you clean your little ones ears?

fiatpandababba · 16/03/2014 23:45

We have tons!!!!! Of the stuff. Gross. I try and give his ears a wipe around with the face cloth over my finger - I'm too worried to use cotton buds. A wash helps. I've noticed that if he's in strong sun light I can see right in and I think oh baby!! He seems fine with it though. It's kind of gross but I just don't want to hurt his little ears.

fiatpandababba · 16/03/2014 23:47

Dr google is a great, I've convinced myself that I've had all sorts

fiatpandababba · 16/03/2014 23:49

Wish there was an edit button to delete stuff like extra letters

flouncymcflouncerson · 17/03/2014 02:30

I wish it wasn't so windy. J has had me awake for over an hour now screaming on and off. I'm sticking to CC methods and cos he keeps stopping for a few minutes before starting back up I've only been in once so far. However it's so tiring. Dh is sleeping through it all which is pissing me off a great deal. He eventually woke up and I moaned at him saying I have no idea how you can sleep through that. He just said I didn't hear him... How is that possible. He's screaming! Angry Angry Angry Angry
