6-8 week postnatal check

Hi,

I have just got back from my babies 8 week post natal check and the doctor told me he hasn't put on enough weight since birth.
He was 8lbs 6 oz and is now 10lbs 5 oz. He is 8 weeks today.

I asked my sister about her baby and she checked his red book and said he had gained 4lbs at this point where as my boy has gained just under 2lbs. I know every baby is different but just wondered how much weight your little ones had put on since their first recorded birth weight to their post natal check.

Hi, I just checked my sons red book and he was 10lbs3 at 8weeks! He's a healthy happy boy and is gaining weight slowly but following just below the 25th percentile line, I really wouldn't worry. Every baby grows at their own pace. Well done your doing a great job :)

I really wouldn't worry, all babies are different, some are small, some are average and some are bonny!
Unless he isn't feeding enough you shouldn't worry x
