We have quite a range of ages and they each develop at their own rates... so what can your toddler do?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/03/2014 16:21

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/03/2014 16:36

Can not cannot can not wait to read the rewritten Northanger ?Abbey is one of my growing up favourites [excited emoticon]

ChasingDaisy · 07/03/2014 17:10

Am here. Oscar had an epic nap this afternoon and I also fell asleep. Was awoken by a well timed text, else we would probably both still be asleep!

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2014 17:34

Am here. Been given a shit load of freelancing to be done for Tuesday and Wednesday next week. No longer bidding for stuff they are calling me.

Also did shred day one - wasn't as bad as I feared though Ican't do crunches without hurting my neck which means I am doing them wrong which is annoying. My abs just don't work :( so I am doing the crunches but hardly moving iyswim.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2014 17:35

Abbey? Remake? On TV? When?

PurplePidjin · 07/03/2014 17:51

He's just got a cold. It hasn't gone down on his chest. R refused to open his mouth for the lolly stick which to my mind means he's got a sore throat, last time he was checked he opened it fine. He also chose risotto over fish fingers for tea. He's now squawking at me down the monitor like a parrot, refusing to sleep. He had calpol at 3 so I won't give more before 7 at the very earliest, preferably 9. I did put a dab of honey on his dummy though which has soothed things a bit. He's not normally a dummy fan but asks for it when he's teething sometimes so I thought it worth a try.

Ooh, calm noises now! Maybe I'll get my glass of Wine and leftover Chinese (thanks Mum) in peace?

PurplePidjin · 07/03/2014 17:52

New Johnathan Creek on TV tonight, I might watch it in bed

ChasingDaisy · 07/03/2014 17:55

Just giving O his bedtime milk, then I have a huge stack of ironing waiting for me. Awesome.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/03/2014 18:09

pr put your tounge on the roof of your mouth while you crunch.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/03/2014 18:11

No the book. A load of the Jane Austen's have been rewritten this year and I just noticed it has been rewritten by Val McDermid.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/03/2014 18:12

I might climb in with pp and Jonathon!! Wink

PurplePidjin · 07/03/2014 18:22

Any more?

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2014 18:55

Rewritten? Shock

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/03/2014 19:01

Yes. Loads of them have been rewritten with a modern spin for an anniversary.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/03/2014 19:01

I think Joanna Tollope has done one.

applepieinthesky · 07/03/2014 19:01

That's good that it's not on his chest pidj. Hope he is better soon.

I have reserved C a dinosaur slide and water/sand table for the garden. Got to pick them up tomorrow. Not so DP is going to mow the lawn and sow the grass seed if he knows what's good for him

Lily311 · 07/03/2014 19:25

I have no idea what most of you are talking about, I'm as tired. Spent the day with my cousin, and my parents are having O till Sunday so I feel absolutely lost tonight. I need to do an assignment but can't be arsed starting it tonight.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2014 19:48

Good night sleep you'll start it tomorrow lily

Passmethecrisps · 07/03/2014 19:52

Evening.

Glorious sunny day here apart from about ten minutes when there was an arctic gale with snow. Unfortunately we had a fire alarm at that exact point so I was outside in a flimsy frock with 1600 kids squealing every time the wind blew!

All the job chat is very exciting. Good luck all. I am currently mulling over applying for another job. Would love the job but just not sure if I can do it, or indeed an interview, justice right now. I shall wait and see.

apple I think you are right to want to move things on. As you say, what's the point otherwise? It sounds like he needs some serious chat as he may not see what the urgency is if things seem fine for him.

BigPigLittlePig · 07/03/2014 20:11

I second a good nights sleep Lily. Hope O is having fun with your parents.

Great news about being looked for for work, PR. We had a lovely spring day here too, although my day as ever, was spent inside.

Good luck job hunters.

Glad R is ok, Pidj. Hope he sleeps ok and wakes feeling a bit better.

F was a bit peaky in the night, teeth or jabs, I'm not sure. She's gone off ok for now, so will see how she goes tonight.

It is quiet on here lately.

Where, WHERE, is Det??

And I hope Flouncy is v much enjoying her hols.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2014 20:23

pidj glad it's just a cold. Always good when it stays away from their lungs.

A bit of reassurance: both my paed and GP have recently told me that the risk of bronchio-fucking-litis goes down massively at 18-24 mo. One less thing to worry about. And babies with frequent ear infections tend to improve at about 3-4.

So next autumn/winter we will be able to listen to them cough and splutter and NOT panic as much

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2014 20:24

I had a PM from Detective yesterday. Her DS1 has had a birthday and she has also gone back up to ft hours. She's ok but busy. I think she said she would have time to catch up after the weekend.

StuntNun · 07/03/2014 20:41

PR try looking at the ceiling when doing crunches. Or DH recommends crossing your arms vampire style on your chest to avoid straining your neck. I reckon your abs strengthen really quickly so you'll probably find them much easier in a few days. Building up your abs will take some of the strain off your back as well.

DS1 has just soiled himself for the fourth day in a row. Hmm We thought he was recovered from his impacted bowel but I guess not. It's all about the bodily fluids in the Stunt house at the moment between the cat being sick and the ILs' dog weeing on the carpet. Sigh.
