I've just remembered we have more jabs in early April. Can't remember what. Dammit that'll be right in the middle of the 18 month thingy.

Bad night followed by bad morning. Walked to nursery. Not fun with a tantrumming 4yr old! Apparently her feet only do slow so she couldn't possibly walk at a normal pace so we weren't late.

I've just been cleaning the kitchen as my aunt is coming round. I decided to try out my ipod as i lost mine so bought a wee shuffle hoping it will mean I'll use it and go to gym as it'll clip on. Been dancing round like a nut job.... Currently singing to summer rain! I have horrendous music taste so need inspiration for songs to add.... Any must have ipod songs?

I'm sitting down for 5 mins before i go collect the monster than kept me awake last night. He would not be cuddled by daddy. Had to be me. Not fun. He was hysterical anytime I had to go to loo... Which is lots due to my insides being also outsides again!

We haven't even had the 12 month jabs. Here it's at 15 months which is tomorrow but as I have no medical insurance for O I am postponing it. It should come in 2 weeks time hopefully. Than we have another one at 18 months. Not looking forward to it.

Music class was great and bumped into a girl from my secondary school. It was nice to catch up, they will come next week as well.

Oooo, and I think I really made a friend here. Got my first invitation to go to a restaurant with a couple. Exciting.

I'm looking at double buggies so advice please lovely Mums of more than one. I'm torn between the nipper 360 double (I do loooooove my nipper) or the BJCM double? Does anyone have any experience of these. I'm erring toward the BJCM as it allows the baby to face me, and it seems most feasible to get onto a bus or train with. For dog walking offroad I'd just put the wee baby in a sling and Jonas in the nipper or on his feet. When he finally deigns to walk...

I don't have the double but have the bjcm 4 and I love it. I could even push it in 20 cm snow. O was facing me till week 12, the bassinet is not as long as on other buggies. The hood is great, the best actually as it really shadows her.

Lily my sister has managed two buggies between two kids and her single is a BJCM - she raves about it and were it more rugged and suitable for offroading it would have been my single buggy of choice too. Glad to hear of another fan. The double does get good reviews. I think I need a test drive with the bear. I'm thinking I'll just get one second hand on eBay or is it worth getting new?

I bought mine used on ebay. The lady only used it for 4 weeks than decided to get a bugaboo. Sold it for half price with accessories. I would buy used again but make sure the wheels are in good condition.

Thanks Lily Smile

Ouch I've just seen the price of BJCM doubles new - think I'll definitely be buying one second hand!!! I've forgotten how cheap I got my new nipper for - I'm not willing to pay 3x that for a double. Right. I think I need to set up an EBay search reminder for one once we get through both sets of scans.

I love pram shopping! Will you definitely need a double though? How about a buggy board?

Flouncey given J isn't walking yet and given he's always keen to run amok on the train I think life would be easier for a wee while with a double as managing a single buggy with a baby, a toddler on foot (or throwing himself off a buggy board - do any toddlers stay on them willingly?) and the dog is going to be hellish. If at least two of the wee monsters can be tethered to the pushchair then so much the better!!! Grin

yw keep an eye on Gumtree as well. I've had a quick look and there are several second hand doubles for £120-170 local to me.

Ah I suppose when it's put like that! Dd was almost 3 when J was born and a pram that fitted a buggy board was a must for us. We love the vista and it's piggyback board and she does stay on it happily.

Jonas doesn't strike me as the type to helpfully stand on a buggy board. I wish he would - but knowing him he'd be trying to scale the pushchair like K2 or hang underneath whilst I push it....

I vote bjcm. Having been through several a few pushchairs this one has by far been my favourite Smile

Yep, R is exhausted by 6. He actually cries to be put in the bath at 5 Shock doesn't make for completely unbroken nights, but he's a total nightmare of wake ups, nappy changes and inability to settle if he goes to bed late. 7 would be fine by me, but not apparently for him Hmm

Early bedtimes are a godsend when you're on your own Pidj. O has just gone down and will hopefully self settle soon. It really helps having the extra bit of time in the evening.

Yeah, but it makes for a long lonely evening! He likes playing on his own so today I've done 2 loads of washing, run the dishwasher, we've been to the park for an hour, cleaned the kitchen and stripped the beds (will remake mine later, I don't like taking that long upstairs when he's downstairs) oh and dismantled the travel cot my friends left here the other day that I was going to try out but can't be arsed Hmm

I need Wine but then I'd sleep even worse than normal Hmm

At least I managed to run myself a nice big bath - I run them with all hot water while I settle him then get in after an hour when it's not scalding any more! - and have a baked sweet potato to eat with some smoked mackerel all ready prepared. Anyone UK based know when you're supposed to apply for 2yo nursery funding? R might qualify to go in January next year, and I think he'd enjoy it, but I can't find any info on when the application has to go in... PS the rules are changing in September this year so it's worth checking out - WTC and income under 16ish k will become eligible which covers a few of us I think?

O is down by 7 latest. I'm brain dead by 7. She had her 10th teeth, explains the last couple of days' frustration.

Report
ChasingDaisy · 19/02/2014 18:16

I agree about the lonely evenings. I've started leaving some housework to do when O is in bed, just for something to do.

I still have the toys to tidy away - no point doing that until after he's safely up!

Report
Lily311 · 19/02/2014 18:54

I tidy up with O, no way I'm doing it by myself. On the other hand all her toys are in her room so it better gets tidy before she is asleep.

All ours are in the living room, he's so screamingly overtired by 5 I haven't started making him help properly yet
