this kind of thing lol
Maybe a bit late for this winter or am I kidding myself but will def be getting another next winter.

BlearyeyedLol · 13/02/2014 21:58

Oh they look lovely janey!!! Will def get one for next year as I have been given a snowsuit from the evil mil for this year!

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 13/02/2014 22:15

I personally need to step away from my addiction eBay.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 13/02/2014 22:16

janey those are lovely!! £££ though Sad

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 13/02/2014 22:21

Have a sleeping bag (new, sale) from the gro bag co, and one (used, eBay) by boden. The boden one is brilliant!!
The gro bag co simply has too many unnecessary bells and whistles though it's growing on me now (no pun intended!)

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 13/02/2014 22:27

PS: is it wrong to share massive satisfaction at pulling ginormous booger out of DD's nose a short while ago?

MotherOfCleo · 13/02/2014 22:33

My sleeping bags are from all sorts of places too, not actual grobags. They are great for keeping him warm but suck if I need to change him in the night. His 0-3 month one was easiest as it zipped down the front, the ones that zip round the side are hard to do quickly in the semi dark.

zombies I have an ebay addiction too, mainly stuff for H but also just bought us new bedding off of their.

MotherOfCleo · 13/02/2014 22:35

haha, no not at all zombie, I hate it when H has them and get very pleased with myself when I can get them out. Wink Oh what my life has become. Grin

Alexandra6 · 13/02/2014 22:55

That's massively satisfying zombie I got a huge one out today! Grin

So after all the tears today, S has been sleeping beautifully in her sleepyhead in the lounge since 7.30 after her bath/feed/sleeping bag routine! Yay! However it's now time for her dream feed and we're upstairs in the bedroom but I'm scared to wake the beast and tempted to ignore the routine and sleep?!

She's sleeping with her arms up by her head, she does that a lot and so do I when I'm really relaxed. I've been weirdly emotional this week about things - cried tonight because she's getting too big for her newborn stuff, cried because she looks so lovely sleeping, cried because she was crying so much, cried because an ambulance zoomed past when we were driving...I'm an emotional wreck!!

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 13/02/2014 22:59

alexandra well done on the sleeping front!
I and DD both do that too! The sleeping with our hands flung up thing. DH was leaving for work one morning and we were sleeping in, and he commented on our identical sleeping posture and expression SmileSmile I'll remember this fondly when she's a stroppy teen Grin

Quodlibet · 13/02/2014 23:39

Ooh I love a good bogey! I spent 2 days this week hunting one which was sooo satisfying when I managed to get it.

We have just started with the grobags as she's only just big enough. Our room is 19/20 degrees, and according to grobag that means she should be in just one layer plus grobag which doesn't seem much - but she doesn't seem to mind being cool as she regularly kicks her blankets off and doesn't wake up. I figure that if she's too cold she will cry but am paranoid about making her too hot and overheating her. It's so hard to know!

Alexandra6 · 14/02/2014 02:54

zombie DH has the same pic of us! Grin (S and I, I mean!)

S just woke and she slept for 7 hours straight from 7.30pm-2:30am and all of it in her sleepyhead bed! This is both amazing and annoying (as it's out of sync with my sleep!) It's probably a one off as she had swimming but also she'd been distressed and awake for most of the day so she was probably shattered. Hopefully the routine will keep going well even when she's had a better day although I'd take worse sleep and happier during the day, any day! She's had a feed and fallen asleep again so hopefully she'll go back down now so I can get more sleep.

Alexandra6 · 14/02/2014 04:21

Also does anyone know if the dream feed is for our sake or good for them? If it's just for our sake, I might keep missing it out for now.

HazleNutt · 14/02/2014 09:06

alex depends on the baby - from the first wave of berry babies, it seems that the dream feed makes a difference for the length of sleep for some babies, but not others.

For baby clothes, I relly like Catimini and Petit Bateau - the latter is useful as the clothes are very slim fit. Both hideously expensive, of course, especially Catimini, so that's sales or ebay only. 50 eur for tiny baby shirt, I don't think so. Shock
For outerwear, Scandinavian brands are most excellent, like Polarn O Pyret - and you can also find clothes that are not pink and sparkly or muddy brown with tractors.

MotherOfCleo · 14/02/2014 09:41

Harvey slept 11.45 - 9.45 with just one wake up at 6.30 Grin Grin Grin Grin I'm in shock.

HazleNutt · 14/02/2014 09:49

We had a couple of wakings, but not bad. especially as we moved him into his big cot bed yesterday, so I was expecting a rough night.

A question, are any of you using any mattress toppers or anything in your cot beds? He had a lambskin in the cot, but that's too small for the bed, and in comparison, the mattress is quite hard. Then again, I prefed firm beds myself, so undecided if I should get something softer.

OP posts:
Alexandra6 · 14/02/2014 09:53

Is it safe for them to sleep directly on a lamb skin? I would have thought that had to go under the mattress, maybe not? I bought a mattress for her big cot from John Lewis and it's really firm so I'll want to make it softer ideally, wish I'd got a softer one now but they do recommend firm (personally I much prefer soft)

MotherOfCleo · 14/02/2014 10:01

We go against all guidance I'm afraid anything for longer sleep H sleeps on a fleecy/furry throw, think it makes him feel more secure and is far warmer for him. We wont use it forever but it is amazing while he is so small. Grin

janey1234 · 14/02/2014 10:06

Lamb skin perfectly safe, in fact recommended to me by paed consultant in the family as it keeps them warm in winter and cool in summer... One of nature's magic things I think.

In terms of dream feed Alex I think it's both - good for you but also meant to help the baby get used to not eating in the middle of the bloody night when they should be sleeping! But as we said, worked wonders for some babies and not for others. Only one way to find out! Wink

HazleNutt · 14/02/2014 11:58

janey do you have M sleeping directly on lamb skin or do you have a sheet over it?

OP posts:
janey1234 · 14/02/2014 16:31

I have a sheet over it. Mainly because it's easier to wash?!

Alexandra6 · 14/02/2014 17:20

Is there a growth spurt at 10 weeks (12 weeks by due date)? S has been crying most of today again! Not holding up much hope of a romantic valentines or for Sophia's evening routine, but I am expressing as I need a Wine !

MotherOfCleo · 15/02/2014 01:36

H ate all day yesterday and has slept all day today....I'm thinking growth spurt. Stop growing up so fast little one, I like you small and snuggly.

MotherOfCleo · 15/02/2014 18:07

win just had a mmc on the berrycoper Sad make me so sad Sad but also very grateful for my little man.

Alexandra6 · 16/02/2014 08:05

Bedtime really went to shit last night - S was wide awake despite not sleeping that much during the day. She kept on feeding, got wind, cried loads, smiled, played happily in her jungle gym for over half an hour...anything but sleeping! I was shattered and then at midnight I finally got her to sleep and she slept for 7.5 hours! Which is brilliant but it isn't her routine so I don't know if it was all a big fail in terms of priming her for better nights later!

The cat is massively on my shit list for waking me at 2am and 5am scratching to come in the bedroom Angry

DH also failed with her EBM bottle feed the night before - he's meant to do the Friday night late feed. Looked over and he's sitting up with her, he's fast asleep, with a full bottle that's fallen out of her mouth and is pressed into her neck, and she's desperately trying to stretch to get to the bottle. Thank god I'm the one with the boobs Wink
