It's time to move to Post-Natal clubs.

Glad you're having a good day lol. I took H to a sensory room today, he loved all the lights. He's been really sleepy so I really hope we have a better night tonight. fx.

HazleNutt · 13/02/2014 06:41

V had one feeding break at 3, but otherwise slept like a rock. Yay!

BraveLilBear · 13/02/2014 06:50

Woohoo Hazle!

We had a miracle here too - down at 830 didn't wake til 430 and then only for 30 minutes.

I feel like a new woman! :)

janey1234 · 13/02/2014 07:02

Yay good news all round!
11.5 hours solid again here, but I've noticed that even though he's sleeping through, I'm not. I was up at 5.20am today, M not until 6.45. hope he hasn't broken my sleep forever?! Shock

MotherOfCleo · 13/02/2014 07:56

Yay, like to hear of these good nights! We were up at 3, 6 and 7.30. Think he would have slept longer than 3 but he was struggling to fart because farting is so very very stressful and woke himself up, then woke at 7.30 with wind....I have a very windy child.

I didn't sleep well either janey, mainly due to this crappy weather! Listening to rain on our dorma is like water torture. Confused

I also forgot it is valentines day tomorrow so need to venture oit today to get something.....ooops.

HazleNutt · 13/02/2014 08:17

oh yes, I of course couldn't fall asleep for a while after the 3am feeding, and was up at 6 wondering if V is allright. Of course I didn't get out of bed to go and check on him, oh no, wouldn't do that

BlearyeyedLol · 13/02/2014 08:32

I'm glad your nights are improving. Gives me hope L will get there soon. After a good evening we had another crap night. Think I need to go to bed earlier!!!

MotherOfCleo · 13/02/2014 08:37

lol if i'd have gone to bed at 9 i'd have had an awesome night. Shame I was tired at 9 Wink

Cavort · 13/02/2014 08:51

We had an ok night. E woke at 2 for a feed and then stayed awake for her usual 1.5 hours, then woke again at 6.30 which is an odd time for her but when I went in to her she was really cold (despite a heater being left on low all night in her room), so I lay her next to me on the bed and cuddled her to keep her warm and we both nodded off for another 1.5 hours. Smile

BlearyeyedLol · 13/02/2014 10:21

Cav what kind of heater is it? We're having the same problem I think- sometimes I reckon L wants the warmth of our bed and on a couple of occasions she was freezing cold when we picked her up!
We have a small electric heater and I've been pondering whether to put it on in her room or not!

Cavort · 13/02/2014 11:02

It's an oil-filled radiator Lol. I put it on very low as the room thermometer says it's 19.5 degrees which is supposed to be plenty warm enough, but she was definitely cold this morning so I will turn it up a bit tonight.

HazleNutt · 13/02/2014 11:25

People are different and comfortable at different temperatures, so I would not worry that much about how warm the room should be according to some experts, if it feels like that the baby would prefer it warmer. V's room is between 19-21 degrees. According to recommendations, that should mean only a long-sleeved vest under the grobag. V is in vest, babygrow (a warm one, i think you call it towelling) and a grobag (doesn't say but I would guess about 2,5 tog). And definitely not too warm, I'm sure he's sometimes actually too cold.

BlearyeyedLol · 13/02/2014 14:30

Maybe I will add another layer first and see how I get on. The room thermometer usually shows no lower than 19 but her hands are ice cubes at that temperature. At the moment I have her in a long sleeve baby-grow but no vest and a 2.5 tog sleep bag.

MotherOfCleo · 13/02/2014 14:37

hazel H is the same, he sleeps in a vest, babygrow (fleecy one on very cold nights), then a 2.5 tog grobag and a light knitted blanket over the top. He's a bit of a chilly mortal.

HazleNutt · 13/02/2014 15:12

now that we were discussing it, remembered to order V some new babygrows. The French are funny, they really love babygrows with closing at the back. Like this:
www.amazon.fr/Petit-Bateau-Fiche-Grenouill%C3%A8re-Multicolore/dp/B00FXJTPNQ/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1392304016&sr=8-10&keywords=dors+bien+petit+bateau+18+mois
I haven't figured it out yet - why? Not easier to put on and certainly not more comfy for baby, who wants to sleep on poppers?
But found some nice ones with zip, now that I approve of, why don't they make more liek that?

OP posts:
MotherOfCleo · 13/02/2014 16:34

hazel I feel for you, my friend bought us one that had that exact fastening at the back, H only wore it twice as I just couldn't figure out how to do it without having my newborn face plant on the changing mat Confused

Now zips they sound like the way forward! Wink

BraveLilBear · 13/02/2014 17:39

Dyu know what, I've been wondering if H has been getting too cold.

His cot is near the radiator and the monitor says it's usually 20-21 degrees in there. He's in a long sleeve sleepsuit and 2.5 tog gro bag but sometimes his hands are icy when I go to him in the night.

The last couple of nights I've been using two of those cellular blankets on top to tuck him in a bit and I'm wondering if they're making him a touch warmer too as he has slept a lot better...

Alexandra6 · 13/02/2014 19:46

S felt cold last night, the room temp is usually around 18 at night, ideal for SIDS advice, but it feels cold to me. Her new sleeping bag is good for keeping her body warm though.

Glad there were better nights. Ours was good in that she slept a lot, ok with wake ups (every three hours) but not good in that I let her sleep on me during the evening and early morning as she wouldn't settle alone then.

Today however she's cried for around 90% of the day including two torturous car journeys! Bad wind maybe?! She did bring up some so am hoping it's just a bad day. She also got hiccups at water babies so she couldn't do all the underwater stuff so most of today's class! I reckon she was trying to get out of being dunked Wink Was a shame but she enjoyed the rest, she loves her swim class.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 13/02/2014 20:07

Oh yes have to buy a new sleeping bag! Old ones are almost too small.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 13/02/2014 20:08

brave we had the same icy hands issue. Now she sleeps with her mitts from the snow suit on :)

Alexandra6 · 13/02/2014 20:12

The sleeping bag S has is from the white company and is perfect - really soft and cuddly, doesn't gather around her face and is a nicer material than the other grobags/sleeping bags I've seen so I'd recommend that one.

janey1234 · 13/02/2014 20:18

Agreed white company ones are lovely. As are jojo maman bebe ones (my fave). Really not fussed for the proper Grobag one. Zip is inconvenient and the fabric not that nice. I do love the Grobag babygrow with padded sleeves though and would recommend for the winter months. M is now warm enough without adding an extra later. Still sometimes has icy hands but doesn't wake so is obviously warm enough I think.

BlearyeyedLol · 13/02/2014 20:50

Agree I love the baby grow from the gro company with the thick sleeves but I'm not too fussed with their bags either. I have bought all of mine from eBay. Have asdas, sainsburys and tescos and they are all good. Also have a bhs one which is very soft but the zip is the other way round which is a bit weird

BlearyeyedLol · 13/02/2014 21:11

Having said that I've just been on eBay and am currently bidding on a white company one and a mama bebe one!!! There's no harm in trying them too I suppose!!

janey1234 · 13/02/2014 21:44

Good work lol! I have bought loads of jojo stuff off ebay. It's such good quality it wears really well so has all been as good as new. Plus I reckon it must be from a good home as it's so expensive in the first place. M bloody loves his waterproof all in one - is on his second now - paid about £22 which is half price. Bargain!
