A was screaming last night at one point, because we tried to put him back into his own bed at one point. Not good.

There were no mice when I got home yesterday, and none when I came down this morning. But then DH noticed that the cheese was gone. So we have clever super mice Sad

The traps are now smothered in chocolate spread so they have to lick it off!

SpottyTeacakes · 13/02/2014 09:19

We've had mice before beasty they're a nightmare!

Dp did get up in the end. I'd been up with ds for so long I got really fed up especially when he started to want to play so I just put him in his cot and left. He was crying but in a shouty way. Dp went 'I don't know how you can just lie there when he's crying like that' and went into him. Ffs I'd already tried everything and been up with him for ages.

ddas · 13/02/2014 20:56

Ds recovering from chickenpox that got infected- still not right & being a nightmare. Dd recovering from her infection and not sleeping. I'm recovering from tonsilitis and exhausted!! Really struggled at work today. To do list as long as my arm but have collapsed on sofa now they are both in bed. Tomorrow is a new day :)

ddas · 13/02/2014 20:57

Dd- ear infection

SpottyTeacakes · 13/02/2014 21:00

Hope you all feel better soon ddas.

I saw my consultant yesterday and he's put me on the list for an insulin pump. So bloody happy!

Sending sleepy wishes to everyone especially ds

ISpyPlumPie · 13/02/2014 21:28

Am absolutely hopeless - thread dropped off my list again!

ddas - hope you are all feeling better soon.

Beasty - good luck with getting rid of the mice.

Great news about the pump Spotty

Congrats on the new house Nutella

Hope everything's ok Willyou

N is totally accident-prone too Hales. Had been planning to get his passport photo done but he was sporting a bruise under his eye from a bash at nursery (wanted to get myself a disclaimer sign for that one as it wasn't on my watch for once Grin) as well as several self-inflicted scrTches from the sharp bit on one if his nails as he's such a monkey when I cut them (even pulls away when apparently asleep Hmm). Hopefully he'll be a bit more presentable next week.

WLmum · 13/02/2014 22:46

beasty good luck with the job interview, same company? Promotion? The bills we had in this month have only added to my needing to get another job in sept - my returners maternity bonus will be paid to the water co (still paying off after our massive leak) and the plumber. DH has cancelled a night out in town and rearranged it as a drink in the working men's club instead!

ddas infected pox sounds nasty (as does ear infection)
spotty how are ds/dd today? Good news about the insulin pump - no more injections?
Looks like we're back on night feeds. Every night this week. It seems that she sleeps to a more reasonable hour if I feed her about 3.30/4. I guess as some point I'll tackle it again but it doesn't seem worth it if the trade off is 5.30 starts! I've done all night shifts with all 3 dds. It's just easier and they tend to kick off if DH goes, and of course boobs trump everything! He lets me lay in a bit when we can as payment!

halestone · 13/02/2014 23:23

Ddas, i hope your all feeling better soon and i hope you get some much needed rest.

Spotty, good news about your Insulin pump.

Beasty, Good luck at your interview.

Ispy, H has bruises all over her she bruises so easily, the HV said not to worry about it.

Well the dentist trip was interesting, H refused to open her mouth and when she did the dentist was very quick. She did put her fingers in her mouth though and say she could feel her back teeth starting to erupt. She was surprised at how many teeth H had.

OP posts:
SpottyTeacakes · 14/02/2014 06:38

Hales I'm surprised at how many teeth she has too!

Dd is sobbing because she doesn't have a valentines card Blush

Yes WL no more injections!

ddas · 14/02/2014 07:37

Aww valentines has passed us by a bit with all our lurgy!

Feel awful but trying to get myself together to go to work. Think going to struggle again but can't let anyone see that lol.

hales I'm very impressed too at all her teeth!

spotty yeah for no injections. I hate needles when they are directed at me! Are your sugars unstable?

We're now for some reason only feeding from one boob once a day. She decided she didn't like one and now no milk there. Surprisingly though boobs don't look too lopsided. Guessing it's the beginning of the end :(

We should try and arrange another London/Surrey/Hampshire meet up now the kiddies are 1.

SpottyTeacakes · 14/02/2014 07:43

Yes all over the place despite me knowing what I'm doing. Consultant thinks it's lifestyle/hormonal.

Hope you feel better!

Barbeasty · 14/02/2014 08:28

Same company and promotion. But I'm not sure I know enough about the role really, and I think I'm going to just make a fool of myself!

And I don't know that I could afford to take it anyway. I'd have to go back to 5 days a week, and that would mean £355 a month extra childcare, which would almost certainly be more than the pay rise. And DD would have to do after school club from September too.

But I can't help myself and have spent the last 6 years going for promotion.

Good news about the pump spotty. Is DD at nursery today? Could a card happen to have arrived in the post while she was out?

But why did I go for the thin dress, and shoes rather than my smart boots? My feet are soggy just walking to the station from the car!

Good news is SIL gave birth to a girl yesterday. So when my cold is better I can go and cuddle a tiny baby.

WLmum · 14/02/2014 08:40

Congrats to sil beasty
Def up for a meet up - now they are all so mobile perhaps a soft play?
Bless DH - he got us all cards with bars of our fave choc inside.
I'm off for a very soggy run - opportunities are so few naff far between I have to go!

2blessed · 14/02/2014 10:34

Morning All,

Good luck for your interview beasty, just give it your all. Hope that was the last mouse

Good news about the pump spotty

Hope all DCs and mums feel better soon. And to the DPs just get on with it!!

Nothing to report here. All just ticking along really. Im always knackered, still coughing. DS is still coughing intermittently but seems to be really happy at nursery which is lovely. Still toying with the idea of controlled crying for bedtime, getting up 2/3 times a night is really draining me.

Barbeasty · 14/02/2014 11:37

There were still no mice this morning, so DH has added cheese to the chocolate spread.

I don't feel embarrassed after the interview, so not too bad. Although I hadn't been asked to prepare a 10 minute presentation, so had to make that up on the spot.....

Now I'm on the train home, with homemade sausage roll crumbs down me and in my hair, classy

Hope the run was good WLmum.

SpottyTeacakes · 14/02/2014 14:37

Dp is getting dd a card. Roads are awful here so much rain Sad

MrsNutella · 14/02/2014 15:21

Beasty no one told you about preparing a ten minute presentation Shock I hate interviews. I'd probably just tell some kind of inappropriate anecdote while trying to not go to pieces think of something Confused

spotty I don't think I got any kind of valentine until I was 20 and had my first proper boyfriend.

DS was a total pain yesterday evening. He followed me everywhere and whinged and moaned. He wasn't crying but I think he was tired and his teeth were bothering him. Then DH called me and so that I could hear him over DS's shouting he was shouting down the phone at me Hmm I had a headache pretty quickly and had to get DH off the phone ASAP!

Thank goodness, DS slept fairly well last night.

SpottyTeacakes · 14/02/2014 15:26

I don't go for the whole giving children's v day things but she was so sad this morning as she just doesn't get it!

Ds slept all night last night for the first time in ages, phew!

Barbeasty · 14/02/2014 15:48

Ha. A woke up 2 or 3 times (DH and I don't agree!) which was the best night in ages. Coupled with a small lie in (5.45!) means I only feel slightly crap with this cold.

I panicked when they told me the subject of the presentation, but it turned into just a discussion around the topic really. 2 very nice interviewers (one who I worked with years ago and always got on with).

I think if DD realised that chocolates went with valentines day she'd be devastated not to get any. But she ate the bracelet she made at nursery (strawberry lace with sweets strung on). And made a lovely poster which said love, where the o was a hand print and v was feet.

SpottyTeacakes · 14/02/2014 17:05

Argh help! Dd is being so horrible to ds. She's still nice to him sometimes too, but more often than not she hits him, throws things at him and pushes him over. I honestly don't know what to do Sad

WLmum · 14/02/2014 20:15

Classy beasty! Glad you felt ok about the interview, it's so awful when you know you were rubbish! Fx!
spotty oh dear - siblings can be so mean. How about a rewards jar - each morning/afternoon she's nice to ds she gets a marble/pasta shape etc but each time she's mean she gets one taken out. When the jar is full she gets a special treat? Ime it doesn't work long term but is good to focus efforts.
We had a most spectacular poo alert this evening. I bought T up to change a pooey nappy then put her on the floor with a bare bum while I tidied away the nappy, where upon she did a wee. Ok so that's a poo and a wee, good time for a bare bum run. I turned my back and she did an enormous poo on my bedroom floor - right in the doorway, stepped in it smeared it on a bag and a toy!

SpottyTeacakes · 14/02/2014 20:31

I like that idea WL but wrt taking one away she would either not care or cry which would make me really sad Blush

Barbeasty · 15/02/2014 09:59

Would stickers work? Not taking any away but only giving one if she's been good?

We did it for DD (for general behaviour) for a while. We split the day into 3, so she had 3 chances. And if she was really good or did something special she got a present.

She'd get upset at not getting a sticker, but because she'd normally still be putting a couple on (we did it at bedtime) she wouldn't be too upset to talk about why she was missing that one.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 15/02/2014 15:30

Oh dear Spotty I have no advice but lots of sympathy.

DS has fake mumps from his mmr. He has fat, red cheeks and a fever of 39. It comes down (slowly) with calpol, but he's miserable without it. We're supposed to go out for an Indian tonight, it's been booked for months do you think it'd be okay to lave him with MiL still? Obviously she could ring us if she needed us and we'll leave her the calpol. I feel like terrible mummy!

SpottyTeacakes · 15/02/2014 15:32

Maybe beasty she does love stickers. I might ask nursery for ideas as I like the way they do things.

WillYou if it was ds I would leave him with my step mum but not mil. So I suppose it depends on their relationship.

I'm having issues with straps on an o'baby stroller, anyone got one? We got it as a spare for our holiday...
