Marking place xx

Stacks · 27/01/2014 09:04

We didn't have a great night either spotty, though I've no idea what's oh with him. Bed at 6:30, up at 8:40, 1:10, 1:40, 4:10, 4:45, 5:15 and 6:10. He's being very clingy and whiney today, but doesn't feel like he has a temp. Luckily I went to bed early last night, though I'm still shattered today. Can't wait for DH to get home.

Super exciting about the wedding Willyou. Why have you decided to go it in secret? It's certainly easier to plan that way though, and sounds like it'll be wonderful!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 27/01/2014 09:21

Oh Stacks, what a dreadful night. Ours was similar to Spotty's and doesn't seem too bad now.

We're going to do it in secret because DP doesn't want to be the centre of attention (me neither but he's really terrified), neither of us like big weddings and I know MiL will use it as an opportunity to be the big drama queen she is. She'll make it all about her, sobbing and crying about "losing" DP. She won't be happy no matter what we do, so we may as well please ourselves and take the consequences!

SpottyTeacakes · 27/01/2014 09:37

Oh stacks my night doesn't seem so bad now! Ds has been crying all morning then had an awful nappy so we were late taking dd to nursery. I've got a bad cough which is fine but my chest really hurts and dp has left dd's spare car seat in the back of his van which my step mum needs to pick her up from nursery later Hmm

Sounds like the best idea WillYou. We thought about it but I know how upset my dad would be!

Stacks · 27/01/2014 10:11

I can't really complain though, we usually get 6:30 till about 5, then back done till 6:30/7. I just hope this doesn't last long! Luckily Monday is a quiet day for us, so I don't even have to shower ... which is lucky, as DS just had the shortest morning nap ever. He's back asleep on the breast now, to hopefully avoid being so grumpy when he wakes up. Also super lucky that as DH was up so early, he'll be home by about 4:30.

SpottyTeacakes · 27/01/2014 11:40

Ds' temp is up again. He won't stop crying Sad

Barbeasty · 27/01/2014 11:59

A slept 7-10. Fed, wriggled and cried until 5.30 and then slept until 8 am.

He seems to be feeding to sleep now..... lunch will be ready in about 5 minutes.

He's not got a temperature, but his eyes are watering, nose is running and his chin is constantly covered in dribble! DD has a cold too, and sneezed in my face earlier so I'm pretty certain to get it.

halestone · 27/01/2014 12:23

Awww spotty are you taking him to the drs? I hope hes better soon.

Stacks sorry about your bad night, i hope you get a nap later.

Beasty H has a cold but no temperature i hope you don't get it and that your DC feel better soon.

Willyou your job sounds exciting but i'm more excited for your secret wedding Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 27/01/2014 12:33

I can't I've got to work Sad won't get a chance until Wednesday (bad mummy)

MrsNutella · 27/01/2014 12:44

willyou I forgot to congratulate you on your secret wedding! It sounds lovely!

Stacks you have my sympathies. Your night sounds a lot like ours.

I think we have 2 or four molars coming through at the moment. Poor DS has been dribbling buckets! His sleep has been horrible the last 2/3 nights. We had a couple of nights decent sleep after his brain burp and he started walking but now the teeth are really unsettling him.
They'll pop out really soon though, won't they?!!! Hmm

halestone · 27/01/2014 14:10

Aww spotty not a bad mummy at all, you know him best plus you can just ask one of the drs in your surgery for advice Wink

Nutella we got the four molars through in one week it was horrific! I hope DS is ok.

OP posts:
MrsNutella · 27/01/2014 19:10

hales I'm not sure how many he is getting (the boy thinks fingers are tasty!) but the bottom two - one each side- are definite, I think the ones above are following soon. Hmm

We went I look at another little house today. It was really nice. The rooms are a little more cramped than I would like but I can see us in there and I think it would be cosy.
There is a small room that I think we could squeeze two small kids into. From memory I would guess it's almost 5m by 2.5m ish... What do you reckon ladies??

Barbeasty · 27/01/2014 20:25

Nutella you'd easily get bunk beds in there, and I think some furniture. And length - wise you should get a single bed and a cot top - to - tail along one wall. Even 2 singles (I think European ones are just over 2m long).

My SIL with 6 children has a double room for her/DH, a small double with bunk beds and a mattress for a little one, a very small single which has a cot but will be the boy's room at some point (the other 5 are girls) and then a small attic room with 2 beds.

She says the main thing is downstairs space, and having a room the adults can escape to. Would there be any scope to extend at some point or be fairly easy to move in a couple of years when the DC are bigger?

Spotty not a bad mummy. It's the price we pay for being working mums. If it gets really bad you can always use out of hours, and if he still warrants a Dr visit on Wednesday you know it needs it iyswim and can't be fobbed off with try calpol for a few days.

DH had to work slightly late tonight and I had to put both DC to bed. It took an hour and a half to get A sleep- that would be 30 minutes after DH got home and settled him. I predict a bad night.

WLmum · 27/01/2014 21:56

Poor baby spotty. I think you can trust your mummy instincts and if you're really worried work will have to understand if you need an hour off to take him to the dr.

A customer at work bought me some chocolates today Smile

nutella I agree with beasty but honestly I think you learn to fit the space you have. There are lots of clever storage options.

I'm having a massive cookathon! Veg and lentil shepherds pie for tomorrow and the freezer, lamb hotpot for the freezer and soup for the freezer. Hoping to be finished soon so I can go to bed.

ispy T is just the same. I've said no a few times today but have mostly been at work. Tomorrow will be tougher as I'm not at work although we'll be out quite a bit. One night soon I'm going to go out and let DH settle her (first time ever without boob). Might be the decider as to whether the boobs are going to be decommissioned soon.

WLmum · 27/01/2014 21:56

Oh and 3 puréed mangoes for the freezer!

halestone · 27/01/2014 22:49

Nutella, i believe that if it feels right then it usually is right. Go with your instinct.

Beasty i hope your night is better than you think it will be.

Wow WL thats some cooking and some organisation.

H still has a cold but also now has diarrhoea and a rash. I'm not worrying as i've now decided that she just seems prone to getting rashes. I think she must have her fathers sensitive skin.

OP posts:
WLmum · 27/01/2014 23:21

hales I always got a rash when I was poorly as a child and dd1 is prone to a viral rash - mostly she doesn't realise she's got one until I start inspecting her!

Hope all the poorlies feel better and that everyone has a good nights sleep.

utopian99 · 28/01/2014 05:29

V exciting news on the wedding willyou!

Good luck re the house Nutella, I agree you can work around size so long as it feels right.

That's some serious cooking wl - I manage to save little suppers to freeze for O from ours, but not to cook ahead for dh and me. So busy at the moment I have been working while he puts him to bed and cooks supper. Failure as a housewife. Got cleaners in yesterday just to make sure that the place doesn't go ruin. Blush

O has been terribly sick since 4.30am. He went to bed happily after his bath but has been sick requiring full change of sheets/pjs then again in my arms requiring another change. He's now asleep again, poor exhausted little man, but I think I'll stay with him in the nursery and cancel our baby group in case it's infectious.

hope you had a better night beasty!

SpottyTeacakes · 28/01/2014 05:40

Poor O utopian hope he feels better and you don't get it!

WL I'm impressed with your cooking I love a good batch cook.

Dd also gets a viral rash hales.

Nutella I agree that room sounds fine

SpottyTeacakes · 28/01/2014 05:41

Oh ds only woke once last night at about ten. He wasn't really awake though so a pat got him settled again. He didn't feel hot either.

Barbeasty · 28/01/2014 06:13

The night started well- he slept from 7.30-01.08, which is the longest stretch he's ever gone.

If he hadn't then fed until I told DH I'd had enough and to put him back in his cot at 3.15.

And I was up at 5 am. Since I didn't get to bed in the first place until 10.30, I've had just under 4 hrs sleep and now a full day at work.

He needs to learn to eat during the day!!! Yesterday he had a total of 1 banana, 1 custard cream and 1.5 yoghurt. He just point blank refused to put anything else in his mouth, except milk. Grrr.

ddas · 28/01/2014 13:32

hales ds always used to get viral and post viral rashes that took a while to disapear. Luckily nursery were always quite good at listening when I explained what it was and that non infectious. Would have been a nightmare otherwise!

willyou wedding plans sound great. I often think we should have saved the money we used to get marriage and had it available for when we bought a house later on.

hales may have missed it but what did you decide about living with dp? May help to make you feel like more of a family and for him to see the work you've been doing on your own for the past year! And may be nice for you to have that support there as must have been hard with a new baby & caring for your dad.

ddas · 28/01/2014 13:34

And like you willyou not a fan of being the centre of attention which didn't quite dawn on me until I was about to walk down the aisle and panicked at the thought of all those people looking at me. A few more glasses of champagne helped though!

PurplePidjin · 28/01/2014 15:53

We're going for 30ish in a registry office then pub lunch for that reason ddas despite being regulars at the parish church. Hoping the vicar won't mind and we can have a blessing in the service the next day! Blush

halestone · 28/01/2014 16:19

I hope O feels better soon Utopian.

Spotty, i'm glad DS seems better now.

Beasty, i hope you manage to get a nap today.

Ddas, we've decided to give it a go its a now or never thing. I think it will make us feel more like a family as well. I'm also hoping it will give me abit of a break, instead of caring for dad and H. It will just be H although i suspect i'll be back at my dads each day, sorting things.

Pidj, have you decided on a date yet?
