I love it when they're this age and just take the direct route, walking through (or falling over) whatever is in their path.

Good luck with the viewing Nutella

We're going to get A his first shoes tomorrow.

I was hoping DD would have a trial ballet lesson but, judging by the lack of replies to emails and phone messages, nobody wants the custom. It's so frustrating- DD I'd desperate to learn.

WLmum · 25/01/2014 06:31

Urgh - the downside of putting T to bed early last night so I could go out with my friends is a pre 6 wake up call. I didn't go to sleep until 1.30. Boo.

SpottyTeacakes · 25/01/2014 06:33

Dd got up at five because of her cough Angry ds still asleep (don't know how with dd being so noisy).

Barbeasty · 25/01/2014 07:04

A was awake, crying and wriggling between 2 and 4.30, then DD called out to get up at 6.30 (I'd heard her playing for a short while before).

Caffeine ahoy for today, I think!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 25/01/2014 07:40

Morning all. DS wouldn't sleep at all for DM yesterday so he crashed out at 5:50pm last night, which means I've been up since 6.

Welcome hunny, I don't think it's a girl/boy thing, just an every baby's different thing.

It's amazing how similar some of the babies are though - DS has molars and a nasty cough ATM so we've had some very disturbed evenings. He seems to be okay once I go into bed with him at 2ish but is very restless before then.

We're also off for first shoes today Beasty. J's much more confident on his feet so it seems like a good time.

We're also off for a first haircut as he currently resembles a very small scarecrow.

SpottyTeacakes · 25/01/2014 08:05

Ds' getting his mop cut next week. I reckon I could put it in a ponytail might try Wink

Have fun getting shoes avoid Clark's! Go independent if you can.

Barbeasty · 25/01/2014 08:22

We are. We'll probably go to one in Bath, because the parking is easier than Clifton.

Not only do you get better shoes that fit properly, but they're different because we travel 40 miles to get them so don't get muddled up at nursery.

And no arguments about whether flashing lights or toys in the heel are allowed....

SpottyTeacakes · 25/01/2014 08:27

Ds still won't walk Sad he's going to have the same problems as dd and I, I know it. Super shit.

Hope you have a nice day beasty and go out for a nice lunch Smile I'm waiting for my food delivery which includes hot cross buns!

WLmum · 25/01/2014 09:14

I'd like to add plentiful chocolate and patience - while running a bath for dds T threw in my t shirt, a full loo roll, a book and her tooth brush, then stood in the bath and did a wee (don't tell dd2&3!).

Barbeasty · 25/01/2014 11:42

We had our shopping delivered yesterday evening, and the driver drove into the side of our neighbour's car! Completely smashed a door in.

Spotty can you get DS in the system quicker because of you and DD having the same problem, or will you have to wait and see if he still isn't walking around 2?

Don't forget that it is pretty normal not to be walking yet and he might not have the same issues at all.

SpottyTeacakes · 25/01/2014 11:49

Oh no! Your poor neighbour!

I probably could but nothing can be done anyway so not much point.

ISpyPlumPie · 25/01/2014 13:40

New shoes here earlier this week - both boys had gone up a full size and it doesn't seem that long since we got their last pairs. Wonder how much we'll spend on shoes over the next decade - actually probably far too scary to work out!

We've just had a completely clear "hello" into the toy phone Smile

halestone · 25/01/2014 14:17

Ispy, i think we'll spend loads on shoes/clothes, it doesn't bear thinking about. We struggle to get shoes on H's feet as she curls her toes up until i give up.

Beasty oh no at least it was definitely the delivery drivers fault, so won't affect their insurance.

H is ill, she has a cold but sounds very chesty. She stayed at my mums last night whilst i was at work and instead of ringing me to say that H was ill and could i come and get them in the car, my mums walked her home. Also H absolutely stunk of cigarette smokeAngry My mum doesn't smoke but her best friend does. I have had to take all her clothes off and throw them in the wash but her pram stinks and i can't put it outside to air because of the weather. Also i really don't want to go to work tonight and leave her i know that sounds wimpy.

Nutella how did your viewing go?

WL me and DP were bathing H the other night, i went out to get a towel for her and when i came back in DP had given her a tampon to play with. He told me he always does it when i'm not there as H likes to watch them expand and she likes thudding them against the side of the bath when they are wetShock i actually laughed.

WLmum · 25/01/2014 17:56

hales that is hilarious! Sorry H is poorly, I wouldn't want to leave her either. Personally I would be saying to my mum no smoke or no visit. Absolutely unacceptable in my view.

SpottyTeacakes · 25/01/2014 17:58

I agree re smoking not surprised you're annoyed hales Angry

WLmum · 25/01/2014 20:01

We had a lovely arvo at a 4th birthday party. T was desperate to join in and just loved it all.
I made bread this morning so have been nibbling at every opportunity. Going to have some with my tea. Yum!

Barbeasty · 25/01/2014 20:06

We had lots of crying at the shoe shop, but he's getting used to them. Can't believe how grown up he looks.

And DH and MIL have been saying how small his feet are- they were half a size bigger than DD when she got her first shoes at the same age.

Typically of 2 pairs, DH chose the more expensive pair. They cost the same as DD's boots!

I can sort of see your mum walking H home Hales, to "clear the lungs". But I'm with the others regarding smoking.

I also managed to get a couple of birthday presents- for a nephew in September, and the real bargain a JoJo dress for my niece in November reduced to £6.

PurplePidjin · 25/01/2014 21:55

We went for a walk with my parents today. My mum and i were doing 1 2 3 whee with R

Who now goes Dun Doo Dee when he wants to be swung Hmm:o

WLmum · 25/01/2014 22:35

Cute pidj!

Im having a so tired I'm overwhelmed by nothing moment. Must get to bed.

SpottyTeacakes · 26/01/2014 08:01

We had a crap night. Ds was up loads, not sure why. Been up since five although ds has been back in bed since 7:15!

I've just had hot cross buns and in a bit we need to see if we can get dp's van back as it's currently stuck on a narrow road between two fallen trees Hmm

WillYouDoTheFandango · 26/01/2014 09:33

That's lovely Pidj

Hope you got some sleep WL

J loved his trip to the shoe shop. He's all about the attention! But he slept 9:30-11:45 and the barbers is only open 9-12 so no haircut for him.

We had a dreadful night too Spotty, he slept in our bed after he woke up screaming at 12. It must've have been after 2 when he fell asleep again.

Barbeasty · 26/01/2014 11:09

Another rubbish night here too. There must be something in the air!

Got chicken roasting in the oven, then we're taking the DC to a soft play. DD has been behaving really well so that she's allowed to go! But given the weather I suspect it might be pretty busy.

Hope you get the van back today spotty.

utopian99 · 26/01/2014 11:18

That's cute pidj!
Ditto crossness re smoke - I'd find a way for a tactful word.

O is now on his second set of shoes - size 6. Is it only me that thinks this technically qualifies him as having hobbit feet?

WLmum · 26/01/2014 12:50

beasty we've just got back from a soft play - it was pretty busy!
utopian I thought T had big plates at size 4!
