Apologies for the x-posting that meant there's no thread link in the last thread Blush.
I'll start this one and hope people find it.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
JellyCurls · 27/11/2013 15:12

Found you all, thanks for new thread

8 week check and JellyBaby has failed again. He has bad head lag and failure to respond also turned blue during check but wasn't cold. To go back next week for follow up and then HV check at 10 weeks and if still "floppy" we will be referred to peads. Got his jags and has gaviscon for reflux so fingers crossed that stops him being so sick

claphammama · 27/11/2013 15:17

hope he is ok imp and yes, it will happen to all of us. I had so many accidents with DS1... tell your DP not to beat himself up too much

is your DS ok gt?

MrsH LOL he is a charmer isn't he?! Grin

bowl I'm really surprised no one was concerned about green poos... green poos usually mean that he is getting too much foremilk and not enough fatty hind milk. Do you always feed from one boob or both boobs for every feed? how long does he spend on one boob? more than 10-15min? I would definitely ask someone about it.

orange good luck with the jaundice clinic! no experience of green sick here... no idea what it could mean

moon I think I would slap your DH... I can hardly do anything here with two... no idea how people do things with three... yesterday I managed to load the washing machine, unload and load dishwasher, do the school run... prepare dinner. that's about it... why didn't he just tidy up when he came back? grrrr Angry

flyer glad you are getting a new cleaner. I also had a lovely but bad cleaner remember? and also couldn't bring myself to sack her. However, she was on holidays one week and we got a replacement lady. she was amazing... I came home and everything was literally shining... I called the agency and said "I want her and noone else". She's been with us for two months now and I love her. I'm a terrible perfectionist so the other cleaner was just stressing me.

I'm exhausted... I also don't remember DS1 being as needy and demanding as this one... although i'm sure things were not as easy as my brain is trying to tell me! female brains are amazing things. I'm also feeling slightly down today. DP is going through a really stressful time at work now (all the planning stuff leading to year end). This means he is coming home late (8pm last night), then jumps on his laptop after dinner and sleeps in the spare bedroom to get some sleep and spare me his snoring... he also became quiet which he always does when very stressed at work - retrieving to his man cave... I feel really lonely... I have friends with children here and am meeting them for lunch, coffee... but it's not the same is it? Sometimes I need him and a hug...

rubytwosday · 27/11/2013 16:15

So sorry that so many people are having worries about babies health Flowers for everyone.
Managed to get A to have a nap in her basket earlier. She looked properly asleep so I ran for a shower ( first for a couple of days Blush. A stayed asleep and when she woke had a good feed and was just dozing on my arms when she projectile vomited! Not a drop on herself but all over me and the sofa.

PseudoBadger · 27/11/2013 16:26

We can have a hug tomorrow Clapham if you like :o

You must be worried Jelly Have they said what could cause those symptoms? Thinking of you x

We just had our 6 week check (at 7 weeks) and C weighs 4.3 kilos. She has gone back to the 25th centile from the 50th and the HV who weighed her muttered about bringing her back in a month. I told the gp that i'd rather not and she agreed with me as she is completely fine. I really don't want to go back to the constant weighing pressure that I had with DS for no reason.

Her jabs are booked for when she is 10 weeks, is that ok or too late?

Haylebop12 · 27/11/2013 16:38

clapham, pseudo can you post some pics on fb from tomorrow? Smile

Mnippy · 27/11/2013 16:39

Thanks imp and jelly.

Welcome blueseashore.

MnipJnr has even superlatively vommy today. Eugh.

MrsHoratioNelson · 27/11/2013 16:49

Sympathy Mnippy we've had a very vommy day here too - see above! I don't know where it all comes from, given how much weight he's put on.

GTbaby · 27/11/2013 17:27

Thanks for asking clapham. He is ok. Was shaken. Had a graze over his eye which has disappeared now. Last night was grouchy after. But must have been ok as he then tried climbing the status again within 5mins! While still crying from the initial fall. Kids eh.

Ds1 has been with my mum all day Grin dh dropped him off at 9. I didn't get out of bed till after noon. Just dozed in bed with lo. In end only reason I got up was my back was really stiff lol.

Have managed a walk to the library today. Still haven't been out alone with both of them Blush and must take DS1 to a play group. Feel he is missing out on playing with kids as he is with me most the time.

JellyCurls · 27/11/2013 17:36

Pseudo hopefully it's hyper mobility causing head lag but he is still going blue and that's puzzling everybody. DS had head lag as well and has since been diagnosed as being hyper mobile .

Baby J is burning up tonight following jags today, also unsettled. Does this sound normal following jags? Other kids never had any side effects

emmoB13 · 27/11/2013 18:06

Jelly curls - baby H had his jabs yesterday and was super unsettled with a temp. He was miserable. I think it's pretty normal, he slept a lot last night and is back to normal today. Maybe if he's not ok tomorrow get him checked?

OrangeBlossom2 · 27/11/2013 18:12

Back from hospital at last, there for nearly three hours bleugh. Thomas does still have some jaundice in his eyes and face so had to wait around to have his blood tested. Not nice seeing them collect three tubes of blood from his hand. They gave me. Sugar water to feed him. I think that is as much about distracting mum as it is baby!

Welcome blues.

Thanks jelly and jelly baby.

Imp, my best friend dropped her baby out of an in fastened car seat onto the tiles at the swimming pool cutting her head open. Not nice but it does happen. Hope baby imp is ok.

OrangeBlossom2 · 27/11/2013 18:14

Thomas was crying at the hospital, nurse asked if he was due a feed and when I said maybe we don't have a routine she said what no schedule at all, he should be by 5 weeks. I was surprised at that but wasn't in the mood to discuss. I'm still feeding him whenever he wants (6 weeks tomorrow).

Mnippy · 27/11/2013 18:51

Orange - ignore the nurse!

Thanks mrsHN, it was sort of awful and hilarious - baby got through two muslins (refolded lots) and two bibs full of vom while we were waiting for a passport appointment. Wailing like a banshee, vom coming out of his nose. Then once he was changed and cleaned obviously he looked sweet and good as gold by the time DP met him...

Soupqueen · 27/11/2013 19:33

orange, I got a similar question last week at the hospital. She is fed on demand so is never due, or not due, a feed!

jelly, hope baby J is ok.

imp, what a fright, glad he is ok.

Hope all other poorly children are better soon.

The Dr isn't concerned about the pink nappy, I've to keep an eye on her and take her back if concerned. I've changed 3 nappies since getting home and all have been fine so I'm a bit happier.

clapham, have a hug.

My DH has taken himself off for a nap asking me to wake him in 2 hours (so he can take G as agreed, so I can have a shower.) so, in total, the only downtime I will have had today is the 20 minutes to make dinner and then the 10 minutes for a shower. I know he works hard, but I really could do with a break, or a nap, myself. It better not become a habit.....

ana, I'm doing a baby massage class with some of my nct class. It's a long public transport journey for us too (everyone else drives - although, to be fair, when they realised I'd got the bus they all offered lifts the next time) but I really enjoy the class and do feel I'm getting to know the others a bit better. Hope yours is worthwhile.

G had her 6 week check today. She aced it, but I scored borderline for PND. I'm a bit surprised as I thought I was doing so much better. Need to keep an eye on that.

Flyer747 · 27/11/2013 19:48

Imp Thanks for you F and dp.

Pseudo after recent events I fucking hate health visitors now.

Clapham WineThanks you have me sympathies regarding dp with his laptop as we know Dunc is in love with his! Hug pseudo tomorrow.

Orange I'm the same no routine just feed on demand, that's what I've been told to do by the infant feeding team though so I think are doing it correctly.

Soup glad to hear G aced her checks.

Jelly I hope belly j is ok and nothing to worry about Thanks

So after a restless day yesterday for baby A she has been as good as gold today and slept loads, these babies are odd little creatures.

So I went to story time what a load of toss it was not my cuppa all a bit mummy fied and everyone signing "if you're happy and you know it clap your hands" so won't be going there again, was lovely to see Nct friends and meeting them again on Friday, they are very nice bunch.

I've eaten far too much today cake and a scone Shock

whistlingdixie · 27/11/2013 20:22

Wow, lots of action today!

Hope injured baby imp is ok xx
Jelly sorry to hear J is still floppy :-(

Flowers to those with DP problems and sleep problems

Still having latch problems here at 6 weeks but we're only 3 days post TT snip, so not expecting miracles... There are small signs of improvement, so feeling hopeful.

On the downside, HV thinks I have thrush in breast. Baby seems fine but I have new stabbing pain in right breast behind nipple, pulling feel when feeding and pink glassy colour (same one that had mastitis). Dr Google disagrees with HV. So dilemma on what to do?... Guess I need GP appt tomorrow :-/

OrangeBlossom2 · 27/11/2013 21:39

Glad you got a better day with A flyer. I am hoping to go for story time at our local library as it is the only baby thing on that I could walk to. Hopefully ours is ok. I've been meaning to join the library for four years too!

Glad I am not the only one not in a feeding schedule.

Soup glad all was ok with the pink nappy. I imagine the pnd questionnaire depends a bit on how you feel that day? If you feel you are doing fine you probably are. Some days I cry and don't feel up to getting dressed/going out, others I really enjoy T, get out and cope well and on the whole think I am fine. But good to be aware and keep an eye.

GeorgieJo · 27/11/2013 21:44

Dixie I am sorry about the nipple pain - GP appointment sounds like a good idea.

Really sorry for all those who have had DC accidents or health issues. Thanks

Orange baby S had six week check today, screamed all the way through it, and we had the same question: "is this feed time?" which seems odd when they theoretically promote feeding on demand (same doctor's practice which told me to limit feeds to 20 minutes when S was 2 weeks old, and not to offer both breasts…)

However good news is that S has gone from 7lbs 4oz at birth, to 11lbs 6oz.

Soup hope that you get more of a break tomorrow.

Welcome blueseashore

Hope everyone has a good night. I just expressed a bottle, so the plan is for DP to do the next feed and for me to get five hours of sleep before the 3am feed. Fingers crossed...

Shirehobbit · 27/11/2013 22:58

Hearing about all the weights, I'm really getting the sense that Al is quite a little baby compared to lots on here! Though he wasn't weighed this week, he was 9lb11 at 6wks. But he's really long (recorded as 56cm at birth, though I think that's wrong).
We don't have a 6wk check here, but an 8wk one, combined with the jabs - so I'll know more next week.
Also, I'm not being seen at all - health visitor said to only make an appointment if I was worried about anything, which I'm not.

OP posts:
Haylebop12 · 28/11/2013 01:40

Shire I only see my HV when I get ds weighed at clinic. Every two weeks x

Soupqueen · 28/11/2013 01:47

shire, G is 11.6 at 6 weeks, up from 7 pounds at birth.

Soupqueen · 28/11/2013 01:50

No she isn't! She's 9.6!!

rubytwosday · 28/11/2013 03:07

Shire, glad you mentioned it because I am now starting to think about weight after reading the thread. Alice was 9lb 4 on Sunday at 9 wks old. This was using our bathroom scales to weigh me then both of us so might not be 100% accurate. She was 6lb 4 at birth. Does 3lb in 9 weeks sound too little? We saw HV at 2 weeks and 7 weeks and she said she'd see us again at 1 year!

xuntitledx · 28/11/2013 05:01

Re. weights, someone mentioned on this thread (flyer?) that we should be aiming for about an oz a day so it sounds like you're all doing great! Grin

Flyer747 · 28/11/2013 06:03

They say on weight gain approx 20-40g per day or 1oz. I have weight obsessed health visitors.

So A just did longest over night stint 10-6 woke for food at 1230, and just stirred a moment ago so feeding her now. Smile
