Apologies for the x-posting that meant there's no thread link in the last thread Blush.
I'll start this one and hope people find it.

flyer if u use calpol the doctor advised 2ml 6 hourly when H was 4 weeks/10lb 6oz x

Natalieand · 27/11/2013 04:53

Also can't remember who it was but to the person with jabs booked for xmas eve - change your appt! Jabs always make baby grouchy for a day or so after and u don't want that on Xmas day/Boxing Day x

OrangeBlossom2 · 27/11/2013 04:55

Yes mrs h i am recently finding it hard to get back to sleep after feeding or at the beginning of the night (though should probably get off mn / kindle...).

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 27/11/2013 05:58

MrsHN and Anything we have the Vista and Pebble, I literally couldn't go out on my own with them at first because I couldn't detach the car seat from the base, then dh showed me a good method-put handle down then you can put fingers around/under the ends of the handle and use thumbs to press buttons, works easily every time! :-) It doesn't click like i expect though when it releases which sometimes makes me think it hasn't released. Although don't then forget to put the handle back up!
Chickie I love my vista, it's only a tad wider than others and I've not had any problems going through doors. It will fold with buggy attachment on too, so good for public transport.
The thread is really moving fast again, I've had a crying baby most of today and only now had chance to catch up, lots to read! Sympathy to those still struggling with night feeding/evening cluster feeding.
Natalie I know other people have said this but please don't worry about stigma of depression/anxiety, ime people are much more sympathetic/understanding than you expect. I think those of you with older dcs are superhuman anyway-you are doing great!

moonblues · 27/11/2013 06:02

Another restless, feeding night here. I'm so tired! I know baby C will be fast asleep by 7 when everyone else will wake up. DH was out, so went to bed after getting the kids down at 8 in the hope of a good nights sleep... Think DD might get to watch some CBeebies after the school run whilst I try to have a doze beside her Blush that's if baby C has stopped feeding and is sleeping by then. He has to sleep sometime, right? Confused

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 27/11/2013 06:08

ps after Christmas better for me for meet up, will hopefully be quieter! Giraffe on Spinningfields is nice and often quite quiet

moonblues · 27/11/2013 06:10

Flowers Nat - please speak to your HV or GP. Don't worry about social workers. As someone said upthread, they are far too busy with families who are really struggling and need support. I'm sure your HV would reassure you if you spoke to them. Depression is an illness just like a physical illness, and you wouldn't feel bad about going to see your GP about a chest infection, would you?

Sephy · 27/11/2013 06:41

I love this thread. The comments from earlier about feeding to sleep being OK were just what I needed to hear ( and just as well, as I'm not sure she'd ever sleep otherwise!)

And thanks for the tip about leaky nappies meaning its time to go up a size - after two wet changes of clothes last night we are well and truly on to size 2. Hooray!

What to do with leftover size 1s?!

MrsHoratioNelson · 27/11/2013 07:15

Ugh. He settled to sleep after last feed but squeaked and grunted his way through it so I didn't :(

Now we're up feeding again...

MrsHoratioNelson · 27/11/2013 07:15

Food bank or the hospital Sephy?

Soupqueen · 27/11/2013 08:22

sephy, your local women's refuge would be very grateful for the leftover nappies.

6 week check for G today. DH is running round like a maddy clearing things up in case the HV thinks we're not coping Hmm firstly, it's pretty tidy anyway and secondly, surely she should see it as it is? He reckons dishes not done is one of the red flags they look for. Maybe, but from one meal?!?

GeorgieJo · 27/11/2013 08:32

Soup did you suggest refuge on Facebook as well? I have tried to get in touch with mine, but no response so far (fair enough as they have more important things to worry about). If anyone knows a refuge in London that would definitely accept them please let me know.

We have our six week check this afternoon too. Can't wait to see how much weight S has put on - feels like the only external validation for all the late nights!

Mrs HN I am also having trouble sleeping. Last night it was my fault for staying up to watch Homeland but the last week or so I have been waking up before S and finding it hard to drop off when he does. So annoying.

Flyer747 · 27/11/2013 08:33

A finally slept at 2am after being awake since 9am yesterday, my baby is like the Duracell Bunny apart from I can't take the batteries out!

Soup I don't think the hv would even bat an eyelid over a messy house, it's understandable when you have a new baby that mess is expected.

Soupqueen · 27/11/2013 08:35

I think I suggested a refuge on the previous thread. Can't help re London though!

flyer, I couldn't agree more. I wouldn't mind but ge always gets in such a grump when tidying, nice start to the day......

apperleydapperley · 27/11/2013 08:59

Urgh well I paid for my evening of peace with a night of feeding every 1.5 hours. I think baby also has a cold as he was sounding like a piglet for most of the time he was asleep. Saline drops helped a little but not much. May try calpol too if bad again tonight.
Sorry to those others who also had bad nights.
Off for 6 week check in a mo.

roofio87 · 27/11/2013 09:32

haha soup think if they flagged up everyone with dirty dishes hvs would be very busy indeed!

me and do are keen to start planning our wedding. my first job is to decide on bridesmaids. I basically want one of my sisters (that sounds mean to my other sis but we have agreed that as being looked at in a bridesmaids dress is her worst nightmare I've let her off the hook! her kids will be involved though!) and 4 of my best friends. firstly do you think 5 is too many? and also I'm a bit worried my other friends will be a bit funny about it. there's no doubt that I am closest to these friends but we're part of a larger group of friends and I don't want to make it awkward! .......sorry totally random off topic tangent!!!!

Soupqueen · 27/11/2013 09:44

I had 4 bridesmaids, roofio, go with what you want! How exciting, I'd love to get married again (to the same man, well most of the time anyway!), it was such a lovely, lovely day.

moonblues · 27/11/2013 09:45

Grrr. Grumpy, muttering DH this morning because the house is a bit messy. Hmm that's because I was looking after all 3 on my own all yesterday, had to take 2 children to swimming lessons, help with homework, feed and baby C had a crying/feeding frenzy last night. Even so I'd done a load of washing and the washing up and he's grumpy because the kids have left their drawing stuff in a mess and the kitchen counter is messy with letters from school.

God grant me strength!

Right, rant over and feeling better, will now catch up on the thread. :)

Readyasilleverbe · 27/11/2013 09:46

Does anyone else get a temporary stabbing pain in the opposite breast that they're feeding from? Only lasts a few seconds but is horrible. Has been happening for last wk or so.
Had a shit night after Mondays good night. Feeling very ashamed as poor dp had to deal with my hysteria, baby's crying and was on call and had to go out in middle of night. Also feeling awful about the fact I was jealous of him going to work. Love my baby so much but struggling today. Hugs to all.x

apperleydapperley · 27/11/2013 10:12

ready that can be a symptom of thrush - I had it with DD. worth getting seen for some antifungal for you and baby if it is.

BowlFullofJelly · 27/11/2013 10:13

Ready that the other boob letting down, I get it every feed!

OrangeBlossom2 · 27/11/2013 10:20

Yes ready, it's the let down reflex as the milk starts flowing on the other side, I get it too.

Thomas was awake from 3 until 8 eating, straining to poo, being sick and making choking noises but we just had a little doze with him in my chest. You must have been knackered yesterday flyer, hope A is better today.

Prolonged jaundice clinic for us at last today. Not looking forward to it Sad I am hopeful as his poos finally turned mustard the last few days which I wonder means the jaundice is out.

OrangeBlossom2 · 27/11/2013 10:28

Thomas has just done a green sick like snot colour. Confused hopefully that doesn't mean he is getting ill...

Natalieand · 27/11/2013 10:32

pseudo we decided too leave H at home (not on his own obv) and are currently en route to winter wonderland
19.8 miles to go apparently

Hope u manage to get some rest today flyer

roofio I had 7 bridesmaids and also left one of my 3 sisters out as we don't get on that well as I do with my other sisters then I had my sisters girls and honey and my aunties 2 girls z

Flyer747 · 27/11/2013 10:43

Oh no orange I hope he isn't getting I'll either. A has been doing a lot of mucus sick as she has a cold. Good luck at the jaundice clinic today. What colour was his poo before the last few days ?

Does anyone else's baby get easily distracted when b feeding? A scans around then spots something that interests her and stops sucking.

Have a lovely day Nat.

I'm off for story time with Nct girls.
