Report them bops. You can't help that ds has sen and so is noisy, and people will always expect/tolerate more noise during the day. Night noise like that must be considered anti social behaviour. I would def report them. My neighbour has mental health probs and so we accept some noise and behaviour (but I have had a word with his carer when its got a bit excessive). We know he can't help it but I would be less tolerant if the noise was due to people just being arseholes. Are there neighbours on their other side?

Sounds horrendous Bops Sad Would definitely speak to the landlord - you shouldn't have to put up with that.

BopsX3 · 29/09/2013 23:12

Yes they have neighbours on the other side. I explained to all my surrounding neighbours when I moved in about DS1 and his needs and they were all lovely. I didn't get chance to speak to my connecting neighbours though as I never seem to see them. I've seen the 2 teenage girls that live there and occasionally the guy that lives there but never the wife (I presume), but I've only seen them a handful of times.

I'll give my landlord a ring tomorrow.

Zooming in for a quick hello! The mapo family I'd into week 2 of our US road trip. All going well so far - flight was ok and baby has been ok given she's slept in 4 different places so far. Still waking 1-2 times a night but she's on no schedule so I don't mind.

Americans are very lovely with babies! So far we've been in NYC, Boston and Maine and people constantly come over to chat with C or compliment her. Lucky she can't understand, she'd get a big head.

Did I read on FBI that we have some new pregnancies around? Congratulations!

lazza R didn't want it at the time either. But last night he slept 6-6 with a bum change at 10:30 (teething wee, the pongy type!) he was asleep by the time I'd put his nappy in the bucket in the bathroom next to his bedroom. And he wakes up and chats to his toys in his cot every morning. Much better than the 2 hour screamathon at 3 o'clock every morning that we had a month ago! although i miss the 8 o'clock lie ins

Bops there are laws against noise at night. Noise in the day is fine and expected - report!

Does teething make their wee smell stronger?

Report

Morning all. Baby lazza still woke at 2am last night but dh settled her without much fuss. She woke again at 4am so I fed her. Then she was up at 5.45am. God knows what went wrong with dd1 though, she came into our bed at 4.30am & I don't think she went back to sleep! They are ganging up on me!

bops hope you got some sleep. I agree, you should complain. Your situation & theirs is very different.

PurplePidjin · 30/09/2013 09:03

Yes, FoD, it's the dribble they swallow. R does the occasional really stinky one that upsets him as much as a poo! Might be more noticeable in cloth?

Morning all. Good night for us last night, only 2 wake ups and one was at 10:30, so doesn't count in my book as I hadn't even gone to bed yet. Up at 7:30 when DP's alarm went off, so we all got half an hour together. Much better than the 4 hour screamathon (2-6) the night before!

J has started picking up things we say Grin. Yesterday he said "whaaaat?" I'm the style of an old Irish man from the airport. DP and I keep doing impressions of the man as he was really grumpy at security and then his pants fell down to reveal his grey y-fronts Blush Today's word is hola! It's so funny Grin

I'm attempting to make him self settle for naps, he's so tired and has nearly been asleep about 10 times then jerks back awake. He's currently pulling himself around the bed like something from the walking dead as he's too tired to lift his head/open his eyes.

Sorry you have twatty neighbours too Bops. Hope you can get somewhere with the landlord.

Ha J's fallen asleep! He raised up onto his knees and then passed out! Falling forward and landed with his head in my lap! I love babies. I'm so jealous of all the new ones on the way. I am ridiculously broody, must remember how awful the first trimester was and how sick I was.

Hope you're having a good time Mamapo. I love people having a good fuss over babies. I've turned into a person who can't walk past one myself.

I'm full of the joys of spring today!

We had a dreadful night here - was up 2.15 til 4.15. I think she might have had a belly ache as she's had some fearsome nappies over the last 2 days. She gets to have a lovely long nap now while I go to work. Boo!

BopsX3 · 30/09/2013 09:54

Hi FoD, how are you doing? ??

Neighbours finally went quiet about 2am. Luckily Oliver and DS2 didnt wake again once they'd got in my bed. I had to wake DS1 though to get him into bed, he's too heavy for me to lift. Just come in from the school/shop run, put Oliver down for his nap and made a brew. Going to ring the landlord in a minute.

I've noticed smelly wee nappies aswell, didnt associate it with teething though, I thought it was just boys as DS1 and 2 have very strong smelling wee aswell.

He's a proper babbler WL. Nothing's in context obviously but he'll suddenly just say "Oh dear" and DP and I will do a double take and grin! Hope you have a good day at work.

Report
SpottyTeacakes · 30/09/2013 10:18

DS says dadada all the time but only says mumum mum mum if he wants something (usually a cuddle or boob). It'll be interesting to see when he talks, dd was having proper conversations at 18 months (as was I) but dp didn't talk until he was 4, his mum only realised he could talk when she heard him singing along to the neighbours theme tune Grin he has three older brothers though so they spoke for him whilst he grunted!

I've always found teething makes the wee more acidic and can cause sore bottoms

Lazza hope your feeling better today, i think you reach a certain point and you have to try a method that suits you. Sleep deprivation is horrible.

Bop hope things get sorted with your neighbours you shouldn't have to put up with that.

It was H's christening yesterday we had a lovely day surrounded by all the people we love. H and DP looked gorgeous. DP's ex didn't change her mind and DSD wasn't allowed to attend so that put abit of a dampener on it.

I'm just waiting for the HV to come and do H's 9 month assessment and see how much weight she's put on in a month.

What was the reason DP's ex have for that Hales? (Might have missed this while I was away). How sad for DSD to miss her sister's christening. Really she's the one missing out most Sad

Are all babies meant to have a 9m review, or is it different accross health boards?

T started crawling last week, he's still not very confident or fast though. He also doesn't seem to be an adventurer, he basically only ever crawls to me or the cat bowls and still wants to be on his feet all the time. My days now involve putting T down among his toys and walking away, being crawled to, climbed up and screamed at till I walk him back to his toys and hold his hand so he can bend down and play with them while standing!! So frustrating, I just wish he wanted a bit more independence.

Still no teeth here, T has a go at most foods though, soft and hard. He can do really well just gumming at an apple core - he gets a good amount of fruit off without help.

I tried ds in satsuma after some of you said orange and he really liked it Smile

Oliver had a 9 month review at the beginning of September. The next one will be when he goes for his 12 month needles Confused

Rang the HA and they're sending a housing officer round on Friday. Hopefully they'll at least maybe give next door a warning or something. I don't want them to get evicted or anything, just an official "keep the noise down past a certain time" will do

Willyou because we refused to tell her how much money DP put towards H. And because she's only H's half sister, and she didn't want us playing happy families, and she's tried banning DSD from seeing me. She must of realised this sounded petty though and the day before the christening put all over FB that DSD wasn't allowed to go as none of DP's family had gone to DSD's. She forgot to mention that they didn't go as she didn't tell them DSD was getting christened.

9 month assessment went well she doesn't have another one till shes 2. The HV was happy with her and said both her height and weight were above the 99th centile so shes not worried about her weight. I think every health authority must be different as she won't be seen again till shes 2.

Spotty H loves satsuma's Grin

Stacks H prefers standing and walking around. Its really hard work doing it ALL day Hmm

How silly Hales. Obviously I've never been in that situation but part of being a parent is growing up a bit and putting your child first over your petty arguments. I'm sure DSD would've had a great time.

We have a 9-12 month review, then a 24-30 month.

I just looked up from playing with DD, and found A chewing one of the fake coals from the gas fire! He's obsessed with the thing. I had to wipe the residue from inside his mouth with a dishcloth, as well as his face and hands.

Not sure whether it beats the toilet. ...

Nearly time to get out and go to playgroup. I wonder what they'll get up to there.
