Thanks willyou - clearly my sleep deprived brain doesn't work very well! spotty and willyou go to the top if the class!
I have totally over eaten tonight. Not impressed with myself or my massive belly.

halestone · 17/10/2013 03:01

I can't sleep and apparently neither can H so shes getting more and more agitated and i don't know how to calm her all my usual tricks have failed. I hope she hasn't got what i had the other day.

2blessed · 17/10/2013 03:27

Fx H has settled now Hales

WillYouDoTheMonsterMash · 17/10/2013 03:30

Oh it's rubbish when you've used up all your bag of tricks and they're still awake Hales.

Hope you're birth shirking away now.

J's just toying with his bottle Confused j don't want to have to get tough and night wean, I want him to do it himself!

halestone · 17/10/2013 03:32

Willyou i always do a bum change 1st and she usually goes back to sleep after that and possibly abit of tickling of the legs and arms. If that fails i give her a bottle. The other night she went from 10pm to 8:30am without needing a bottle. tonight however is a different kettle of fish and nothing is working

OP posts:
WillYouDoTheMonsterMash · 17/10/2013 04:05

I've not done a nighttime bum change in 6 months Hales, is she usually wet? J was a super sleepy feeder who had to be woken at every feed with stripping off, cold flannel and bum change, but once he got past that I switched to pampers baby dry and we've not needed one since.

He's asleep now, but scared to rusk the transfer Confused

WLmum · 17/10/2013 07:16

T slept through til 5!! That's 6 hours of sleep for me! Woo-hoo! She had a feed and went back in her cot for about 25 mins. I brought in with me then and human dummied her til 6.45 when the big 2 came in. Fx this heralds the start of a new era!
willyou I don't do night bum changes either. Hope you and hales managed some sleep in the end.

SpookyTeacakes · 17/10/2013 07:24

Yay WL!

Sorry for bad night hales hope you're getting a lie in Wink

Dp keeps saying to dd 'listen to your mum' when she's being a pickle and it makes me so bloody angry AngryAngryAngry arghhhhhhhhh it seriously winds me up and I've told him and he keeps saying it and doesn't get why I HATE it. Firstly I'm mummy not mum, she's only three, and secondly it sounds really common Blush I hate the way he says YOUR mum why can't he just say 'listen to mummy' or just reiterate what I've said AngryAngry

Sorry for early morning rant.

WillYou that's great on the standing. If I try to stand ds up he just goes straight onto his knees to crawl.

halestone · 17/10/2013 08:15

Well done T, i'm glad you had a good sleep WLGrin

Willyou she has a huge wee every night about 4 hours after her bottle. She then starts getting really fidgetty until shes changed. She can't dtamf having a wet nappy, its the same in the day if she gets whingy we change her bum 9 times out of 10 the whinging stops.

I think she's definitely coming down with something her breathing is very loud. Shes fell asleep about 4:30 and woke at 7:30. Shes back asleep across my chest now.

Spotty could you tell DP how you feel or does he already know?

SpookyTeacakes · 17/10/2013 08:31

I told him and he's still doing it Angry

Hope h feels better soon Smile

WLmum · 17/10/2013 09:57

I'd be irritated by that too spotty
hales bet she'll be super early potty trained then. Dd1 was like that and as soon as she could talk she used to say 'change you' as soon as she'd done a wee or a poo. She was clean and dry day and night by 22 months, with no effort at all. Most of our friends were a year later.

WLmum · 17/10/2013 11:00

Dd2 at pre-school, dd1&3 with DH - me meeting a bestest pal for coffee and cake Grin.
And another job share opportunity may be on the cards Grin Grin - these are tenuous grins! The cake one isn't!

WillYouDoTheMonsterMash · 17/10/2013 11:23

Have fun WL

I have been shopping and now need someone to unpack it for me. J is off to MiL's this afternoon so I can tackle this dirty bomb site! Then I'm off out for a yummy Italian with my friends Grin

halestone · 17/10/2013 12:49

WL FX and enjoy the cakeGrin

Willyou have a nice time at the italians.

My niece was potty trained at 22 months (shes 2 next week) i have a feeling my family may make comments like 'DN was potty trained by now, when are you doing it with H?'

Also H isn't coming down with anything, the molar i have been expecting for ages has finally popped through the surface. Poor thing i hope that means lots of naps today.

OP posts:
SpookyTeacakes · 17/10/2013 12:53

Wow so many teeth hales! We got the 'when are you potty training dd' as soon as she turned two. 'All of you (me and my sisters) were dry by two' blah blah blah.

Good luck WL!

halestone · 17/10/2013 13:35

I'm just going to do it when i think shes ready Spotty, i think she'll let me know. Well i hope anyway haha. Still feel like every new development H has is a HUGE shock to me.

lazzaroo · 17/10/2013 16:04

What a lovely sunny afternoon Smile. Typical, as I am cooking roast pork for tea so am sweltering in the kitchen!!

Thanks WL, good to know. Baby lazza is fine for weigh. She's 9.5months (& mostly wearing 12-18mth clothes!). Have had a chat to dh about it though. On reflection I think I'm tackling the wrong problem! Feeding her is really easy. It's the nighttime wakes & early starts that we really need to solve. Bit concerned by trying to solve a problem that's not really there I'm going to add to the others!

On other news....baby lazza doing lots of unaided standing today. For some reason she's choosing to do it from nothing. I mean she'll just stand from sitting, not holding onto anything!!

WLmum · 17/10/2013 16:38

That sounds impressive lazza. I'm night weaning as a step towards self settling at nights.

Boo - job thing is just potential at the moment so no need to get excited. It's nice that they're thinking of me though.

WLmum · 17/10/2013 16:40

Def wait til babies are ready for potty training - anything else is always a disaster. I was v lucky with big 2 that they took the lead and it was easy but I know it can be a tricky old thing.

lazzaroo · 17/10/2013 17:48

It's very random WL! she also likes to have something in her hands! And, you're right, night weaning is the sensible step.

I agree about potty training. DD1 was easy but I know we were just lucky with timing & she was ready. I am convinced we will not have such an easy job this time!

utopian99 · 17/10/2013 20:23

My mum said she thinks it encouraged my brother and me to potty train by being in terry nappies so am.hoping the same for O, albeit cloth nappies are a bit more high tech than that these days.. WL were dd1&2 in cloth?

WLmum · 17/10/2013 20:31

Yep, both were in cloth. Personally I think it helps as they feel the wet more but I do know of cloth users who's babes were late potty trainers so the biggest factor is whether the baby cares about a wet or dirty nappy or not!

Feeling a bit fed up tonight. It's probably just because DH has been on lates so we've not seen each other all week and I've had my hopes raised and lowered again on the job front. I'm sure something will turn up but I can't help but feel I've rather missed the boat. We all seem to have colds too. Boo.

I know how to live - cheering myself up with a cup of tea (decaf) and some knitting! Rock and roll!
