Ooh missed your news Beans, very exciting, especially all so close.

Blimey Kayz, well done to mum & dad. That was DHs worst nightmare. The midwife had given us a run down of what to do if she didn't get there in time, dh hasn't ever considered that eventuality, so it made him think about. To be honest it didn't bother me as I knew eventually either just before or just after a midwife or ambulance would arrive. But dh was quite literally shit scared of that happening. I was happily eating noodles, watching Arsenal draw at home to Middlesbrough and having 5 minutely contractions without much bother and he was having kittens. The midwife ended up coming because he sounded so freaked out despite me protesting I was fine and she didn't need to come for hours. I gave birth nine hours later so I was right. But he was happier.

Rubena · 17/10/2013 16:36

Had to post. As message from dh came in and I'm dying for him to get back as I'm about to throttle dd. she's beyond naughty today.

Beans v exciting!

Rubena · 17/10/2013 16:58

Dd now kissing my arse big time as she's seen some cup cakes I have picked up from Waitrose just freshly baked for tuck shop tomorrow. Suddenly she "loves me" and is "berry sorry she threw that banana on the floor" Hmm
She has got an awful cold though and can only breathe through her mouth at moment so have forgiven.

Nolda · 17/10/2013 17:39

Jam, you are so not unreasonable. Is your DH related tomine perchance? My DH has perfected his timing so that I'm just so relieved he's still alive that he's forgiven all his lack of communication and lateness.

Beans, thrilled for you and your friend. Lovely to have instant friends for your DC while you get to catch up.

Rubes, the wonder of cake Grin.

Well, I've survived my first day at work. I then got conned into buying a giant gibbering spider from Sainsburys for DS!

Rubena · 17/10/2013 18:46

Nolda. I get conned like that often.

We are having a post bath pre bed dance party while waiting for daddy. This us becoming a regular occurrence. Way to hype them up before bed rubes.

Rubena · 17/10/2013 18:49

Actually. Ds has just insisted its bedtime and I must turn off lady gaga immediately! Blush It may have had the opposite effect! I've tuckered them out!!!

Rubena · 17/10/2013 18:49

What are they like. I'm kissin 40 and these amateurs can't keep up!

Vagolajahooli · 17/10/2013 19:03

Well done Rubes you can stay up later than toddlers.

I'm shattered, had DS1' s friend here until gone 6. But all fed and bathed now and DH is reading to them. Phew. Had a busy day, yoga after drop off, lunchtime supervision at school (no impromptu hair cuts luckily) then got a super stripping facial (seriously I've had several layers of dead skin removed) & eyebrows harvested. Then shopping and postal bits to send & school pick up with a plus one. I haven't quite finished proof reading DS2's Jufs paper yet, her written English is pretty poor, so did a bit more of it this arvy. And cooked tea for the boys and for DH & I. I think I need an early night.

Rubena · 17/10/2013 19:11

Hope you are joshin Vag! you sound so serious. Am scared. They are in bed now, honest.

Rubena · 17/10/2013 19:13

and you are multitask extraordinaire....... Smile

Vagolajahooli · 17/10/2013 20:51

Was just being cheeky Rubes.

I'm going to have to go to bed, I'm so tired tonight. I think the yoga today finished me off for exercise this week. She did work us a bit harder than usual. And trying to communicate with 18 dutch 4-6 year olds was bit wearing. Crikey my face feels good though. She used some chemical exfoliant on me (I know sounds a bit scary) & I swear my skin feels like it did 10 years ago.

Vagolajahooli · 17/10/2013 20:52

Rubes I was yanking your chain.

Rubena · 17/10/2013 21:36

Love it vag! Had me goin for awhile there. Hope you get some good shut eye.

beans37 · 18/10/2013 03:31

Bed at 8.30pm for me. Was horrifically tired. Up at 3. Not too bad. DD3 now doing enormous shits. One outfit change already. Feels like a second one might be due. Rank smell.

beans37 · 18/10/2013 03:46

Yup, another outfit change. It's like Katy Perry at those music awards I've forgotten what they're called.

Arrtttiiieee · 18/10/2013 09:59

Oh I know those poonamis so well Beans. DS started on solids this week and his poos have changed, that makes me sad as its yet another sign of how quickly he is growing. He will be off to university soon.

Sorry you are feeling the strain Jam. If we manage the half term meet I promise not to comment on the height of your bump.

We do pre-bed dance offs Rubes. In fact our new au pair and the girls dance for about 45 mins each night while DS and I play the parts of Darcey Bussell and Craig Revel Horwood shouting out scores. DD2 is quite the little mover,

Arrtttiiieee · 18/10/2013 10:00

Meant to say congrats to Nolda for surviving the first day at work. Does it feel like quite a momentus think to no longer be at home full time?

JamInMyWellies · 18/10/2013 10:41

What is happening re half term??

My two spend Saturday night copying the dances on Strictly its hilarious they choose who is going to be the man and who will be the lady.

DS2 is clearly enjoying the church aspect of his school. Yesterday in the car we had a lovely rendition of Hosanna Rock including actions. Then I put radio 1 on and the song Talk Dirty To Me came on and he swapped to singing that. You cant say he doesn't have a well rounded selection of music to listen too. Grin

Am off to the bank this arvo for a tour. Quite excited to see inside the place its got so much history. Then next week DH finishes there and moves on elsewhere. Am glad he has changed his mind from the stay till Christmas take 6 wks off thing then try and find a new job in January.

Now this might be TMI but those of you recently preg. It would appear I am leaking a bit of wee. Am really quite upset about this as its never happened before. I do kegals everyday but am terrified this means its tena lady pants for the rest of my days and smelling like a pissy old lady.

Rubena · 18/10/2013 11:48

Jam isn't that just what happens when you have a big baby pushing on the bladder? I had that when preg (I think seems like ages ago now) but nothing after, so doesn't mean you will smell all pissy for the rest of your life! Halloween Grin

Rubena · 18/10/2013 12:14

That sounded like I was saying you must be having a "big" baby - not at all. I just meant when the baby is bigger towards later stages. My babies were not big and I got that when I sneezed.

beans37 · 18/10/2013 12:40

I didn't leak wee during pregnancy, but I am completely unable to stop mid-flow now...

I am struggling to decide whether I can be bothered to take the girls swimming this afternoon. It is SUCH a hassle and I loathe it. What to do.... Any help??

Rubena · 18/10/2013 12:45

do you mean becasue of the wee thing beans? And do you mean actual swimming lessons? Or just you taking them swimming

Vag I have busted out the cabbage / veg soup I found in the freezer as I've been unable to exercise much with dh coming in late and i was lazy earlier when dd was at nursery . I recon it's been in the deep freezer 6 mths!
DH wants takeaway tonight, and we have a mortgage guy coming over as well so might just sign then go to the gym and have a wonton soup after, and of course wine Grin Our wonton from the local thai doesn't look too fatty.....

Nolda · 18/10/2013 13:34

Just a sneaky one from work while I'm eating my sandwich.

Beans, you hereby have full permission to bunk off swimming, signed Nolda.

Arti, it is very strange being back at work but I was definitely ready for it. On the other hand, after 7 years of on the job training as sahm, I was just beginning to feel I knew what I was doing (some of the time).

All the dancing sounds great fun, we should do more of that.

Vagolajahooli · 18/10/2013 13:42

Clearly you a pissing yourself because your baby has dropped and birth is imminent (signed the nosey old biddy).

Vagolajahooli · 18/10/2013 13:49

Funny Rubes I just pulled out some home made gnocchi which I'm sure has been in the freezer way too long. It was a bit squishy but tasted good with some fresh pesto I got yesterday. I quite fancy some cabbage soup now, I don't think I've got enough ingredients though.

Poor DS2 is poorly. He's so cute when he is sick.

Does DH have another contract then Jam?

My boys are on half term break now, we are staying home for the week but there is loads on as there is a big festival of kids theatre on around the Hague, plus lots of workshops and activities. DH is off for two days so we might take the kids to Amsterdam for the day.

Go Nolda.
