Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Oops forgot the 's' in sexual, sounds like I a Miranda style comment. I am quite ok with saying out loud I promise.

beans37 · 10/10/2013 14:54

I am delighted to read this, because DH is putting pressure on me to get DD2 out of nappies at night. Her nappy is sodden every morning and I tried it once before DD3 arrived and by 9pm she'd wet the bed copiously, before I'd have lifted her. DD1 was out of them at night by 3, but our old childminder said its a hormonal thing, and when they're ready, they'll stop wetting the bed. I am in no hurry and will try when I think she can manage it.

Vag, that sounds really fascinating.

I'm feeling a bit heart broken for DD1 because her best pal from playgroup and nursery has become really bossy and when DD won't do as she tells her she plays with someone else and won't let DD join in. Makes me sad. And DD is being really brave about it.

Just had DD3 weighed. Ahem. 9lbs 4oz. 10 days ago she was 8lbs 6. Piglet!

Mckayz · 10/10/2013 14:55

You are all much more well travelled than me. Is it cheaper/better to book things last minute? Still looking at ideas for DHs 30th in 2 years time. I've began saving up but I won't know until the start of 2015 when we can actually go due to his job.

Just wondering if it is better to book last minute as I will know when he will be home.

I feel far too early but I can not decide where to go at all.

Vagolajahooli · 10/10/2013 15:11

Fark off I just wrote a massive post with my tips on getting the cheapest trips Kayz and I lost it. Bugger bum. I will finish my tea and rewrite later. In the meantime do you have any ideas of when or where you want to go? Is it just you two or all of you?

Mckayz · 10/10/2013 15:59

Just the 2 of us. I'd love New York but I don't think I can stretch to it. It'll be after October 2015 as his birthday is the 1st.

DD is a pain in the arse. She will not stay under the raincover and has now ripped it with all the kicking.

Nolda · 10/10/2013 16:11

We had to give up with the raincover and bought an all in one rainsuit because of the legs of fury!

Vag, loved your form story, hilarious.

JamInMyWellies · 10/10/2013 17:55

Mckayz if you really want NY look at going in Jan or Feb it is fucking freezing sorry for the language but it is. It is also alot cheaper then.

Vagolajahooli · 10/10/2013 17:58

Kayz flights to new York can be very cheap in the last week of November and the first week of December. It is a brilliant city and loads of people go there for Christmas/new year so not so much at the start of December. Back in the day (well before kids) I flew over for a shopping trip the flights were so cheap that I actually recouped the money with all the savings I made on the shopping (trainers, lots of tops and several years worth of Jeans). So don't completely give up on the idea.

Mckayz · 10/10/2013 18:15

I went with School in March and it was soooo cold. Never seen so much snow!

Vagolajahooli · 10/10/2013 20:16

You went to New York with school? Bloody hell that is an awesome school trip. We went to Canberra woop dedoo.

Mckayz · 10/10/2013 20:38

It was amazing. I'd like to go back and have a proper break without teachers!

JamInMyWellies · 10/10/2013 22:23

It's super stormy outside am on my own and am about to watch Whitechapel. Idiot me? Yes.

ShadyLadyT · 10/10/2013 23:01

I have just read back but my mind is fizzing all over the place and I can't concentrate on anything, largely because I have just had an annoying row with DP. He is such a butthole sometimes. I have had to stomp off up to bed as I feel like poking him in the eye. Not much progress towards a DC3 Grin Going off the idea a bit again. And it's not the lack of sleep on the thread either.

DD1 is still in a pull up at night. I'm not too bothered as I think she'll get it with time. I mention it sometimes, but she doesn't seem capable...I don't want to give her a complex about it so happy to wait.

Kayz, I will be back with travel tips at a later date!

DB, I know what you mean about posters circling like sharks on the sniff for blood. I haven't checked the thread out yet.

Glad your exams are nearly done, Rubes.

Can I just say to Beans and Arti - you are both doing a brilliant job with your DC3s - the broken nights are so hard. And you Kayz, I know you are suffering. Hang in there, ladies!

It's DD1's Class 1 assembly tomorrow. I'm not a crier but when I see her anxious little face straining to see me in the audience I know I will have to dig my nails into my hand very hard indeed.

More when I can.

Rubena · 10/10/2013 23:20

Aaagh have tried to skim v quickly but am tired and far behind. So intrigued tho as want to read about the penis dipping, Dutch ovens, parking, dry nights, overflowing boobs, farting, then I lost you..... Been heavily entrenched in Cart Tart / trolley dolly exams. Tomorrow it ends, and normal rambling service shall resume Grin

Rubena · 10/10/2013 23:22

And and before I forget. I peed my pants at "spewing" Vag!!! That is brilliant and makes be homesick!!

Rubena · 10/10/2013 23:22

Pardon the pun

beans37 · 11/10/2013 06:17

Jam! Did you get any sleep??

Lady, has the row passed? Are you ok? You're very good at not going into detail. I wonder, too, if the issue you were having with the school was resolved? I agree re the weeping when you see them on stage. DD1 had a main speaking part last term ('not I' regularly as the cat in The Little Red Hen play). I was v emotional. DH even came to watch. All she talks about is how Daddy came to watch... No mention of me boing there!!!

Rubes, good luck with final exam. When do you find out results?

Mckayz · 11/10/2013 07:55

Lady, hope you and DP have made up now!

Rubes, fingers crossed for the final exam! Good luck!!

DD woke up once last night!!! But I still feel like the walking dead.

It is bloody war weekend here, the whole town returns to the 1940's and grown men dress up as soldiers. I hate it and will be staying in all weekend.

Arrtttiiieee · 11/10/2013 08:26

Sorry to hear of your fight LadyT. Have you made up? I have to admit I always tear up when k see my DDs on stage, I never thought I would be that mum but I really am! DD1 was lead in her Christmas play last year and my MiL and I sobbed for the full 30 mins (MiL can be caring sometimes!).

Veg, I told DH your form filling story last night and he spat his wine on our newish sofa. We then had to explain the joke to the au pair which was a little embarrassing.

Back still agony. I'm writing this while lying on the floor with DS lying next to be sucking his toes. Gosh he is gorgeous but he has really massive feet, I have had to put him in 1-2 year socks. I'm going to introduce his first solid today, am choosing between broccoli or carrot, decisions, decisions!

JamInMyWellies · 11/10/2013 09:33

Lady hope you and DP are feeling a bit brighter today. I did want to ask you about your playgroup situation but been super busy. Have you got a resolution to this child? Is he/she statemented. You obviously need help what sort of strategies have the parents discussed with you regarding his/her abilities/disabilities. DS2 used to be a horror for running. Nursery used to put a fluro vest on him with a name badge and phone number stuck to the back just incase. It doesnt seem fair that you alone are holding the burdern of care and responsibility for him/her.

Rubes good job on the exams you are nearly there lovey. Lots of wine awaits you.

Arti have you seen someone for your back?

Gotta dash to the course again but will attempt to be back later.

Nolda · 11/10/2013 10:13

Good luck with the last of the exams, Rubes. Nearly there.

Lady, I hope you have made up with DP now. As you pointed out, there won't be any more DC unless you do, and we need more thread babies (and I'm too old, before you suggest anything crazy). Seriously, though I hope you have. I hate that awkward atmosphere.

Nolda · 11/10/2013 10:15

By the way, I got the job at DH's office and will be doing 25 hours per week. It's only temporary to cover someone's sick leave but it will get me off the streets!

Rubena · 11/10/2013 11:02

Just skimmed again as down at training still. Lady somehow missed your post. Hope you're ok. Thanks but No exam today. A long day of fluff. I don't need it. I'm brilliant already Grin
. Ok coffee break over. Back later to catch up

Mckayz · 11/10/2013 11:54

That is great Nolda!!!

Another holiday type question. Is it cheaper to fly on certain days of the week?

I want to be a travel agent or something similar. I love looking at holidays and finding things to do.

ShadyLadyT · 11/10/2013 12:39

Dying to come back on here to respond to all sorts but now have to leg it out the door to a Halloween party, then off to Chipping Norton to meet DH's Dad for coffee with the girls after school. Waaah. Hope to return somehow this evening! That's smashing news about the job, Nolda! Aaaarrrrgh, rush rush rush...
