Thank you Beginning - that's wonderful that Oliver is improving.
Will do my best to work through the thread & catch up x

Thinkingofmyfabfour · 28/09/2013 18:09

Urgh awful night last night, up 6 times last night -3 times with M and once with each of the boys Hmm
So tired have done nothing all day except feed M and read mn Blush
Did have builder round who thinks our planned extension will only take about 12weeks...now all we need is planning permission
10+5

dinkystinky · 28/09/2013 18:12

Ouch Thinking - hoping for a much better night for you tonight! So exciting re the extension Grin J had me up 4 times last night and DS2 woke twice - but was yelling for daddy so I could legitimately wake DH and kick him out of bed to deal with DS2!

Wifey - nice to see you on. Hope all is well with you.

Beginning - we're having a run of rubbish nights with J - and despite him feeding lots, I think I'm getting a blocked duct/mastitis in one of my boobs... God knows how that works!

wifey6 · 28/09/2013 18:19

Thank you dinky...
All good here thank you now baby's reflux has settled down & he's off the reflux meds.
Sounds like you had a rough night last night - let's hope you have a better night tonight

Beginningofthejourney · 28/09/2013 18:30

dinky I've had blocked ducts a few times even though Theo feeds loads its agony isn't it! Ive not found much helps except feeding through it ad trying not to cry, hot shower and massage helps a bit too!
Theo really needs to have a poo (last one I can remember was on Sunday) and hasn't fed very much today so expecting a bad night tonight Sad

Nexus6 · 28/09/2013 18:56

Hey guys sorry I haven't been on as of late.

we've had some issues with DH's ex.. we wanted DH's sons to meet LO but the ex was her usual mental evil spiteful self and said that 'it's inappropriate for the boys to meet her as she is nothing to do with them' ?!?!?!?!

she's a real bitch.........oh well in time the boys will be free from her.

blocked ducts sounds painful eek! do hot compressions help?

BadMissM · 28/09/2013 19:12

OK, back over here too now. Have been very lazy and just hanging about on FB and not MN (slaps own hand).

How are you all doing???

dinkystinky · 28/09/2013 21:13

Glad your baby's reflux has settled wifey - its miserable having to give your baby meds isn't it?

Beginning - hope the poonami lands soon. In a similar position here - j did big poo on Monday night, tiny one on Thursday and we're still waiting for the poo to land! Given how much he feeds I know there is a lot more in there! Thanks for the sympathy - am on the hot flannel compresses and ibuprofen and hoping to stave off full blown mastitis.

Nexus - sorry DJ's ex is being such a cow. Of course your dad is part of her step brothers lives. Has the ex never heard of blended families??

J seems to have settled down to 4 naps a day - sometimes he's awake for 2 or 3 hours before napping. I think he's like ds2:fights sleep because he's nosey and worried he'll miss something!

dinkystinky · 28/09/2013 21:14

And in other news our nanny has finally got her UK licence and will go on the car insurance next week so my days of having to do the school run each day, and leaving j, are numbered!

BadMissM · 28/09/2013 23:05

Dinky, we are still having poo issues with Caspian too. I resorted to glycerin suppository (as bought in Belgium) tonight as he was in pain and hadn't had a poo for three days...his tummy was all swollen. Within half an hour it had done the trick, thank goodness.

Have also found that they sell baby tea in the Polish shops around here...Hipp (Polish), suitable from one month. Camomile, and Apple and Mint....

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 29/09/2013 05:42

Great news about the nanny's driving licence, dinky. That must be a relief.

BadMiss - is that tea for babies? I'm guessing the camomile would be to calm them down and the mint for digestion?

Beginningofthejourney · 29/09/2013 18:17

Poonami finally landed this afternoon after theo sat in his bouncy chair reading and contemplating...typical boy! Fingers crossed for a less screamy bed time tonight

cheekbyjowl · 29/09/2013 18:20

Hello

Sorry another absentee. My phone has died a death so haven't had data unless i use DH's laptop. Thank you for all the advice on entertaining - i've tried the mirror and textures and he's quite enjoying bashing the piano

Glad the nanny situation is sorting itself out dinky

SNFED - good choice in boys name

It won't work with everyone i know - but i thought i'd share - we've been trying to help Joseph sleep through the night. We tried a stricter routine but he still woke a lot, we tried letting him cry a bit but he was always ravenous and so couldn't sleep when hungry - then someone suggested giving him a bottle of formula for the 10pm feed as it is heavier than breast milk. It's extended his sleep from 10-1 to 10-3:30/4:30 Only downside is it''s like sleeping on two butternut squashs's until my breasts adjust but if anyone is stuck for ideas for a better night sleep, it might be worth trying (only if hunger is the cause of course). I know it won't be everyone's cup of tea but since it worked for us it seemed selfish not to share

x

Silver15 · 29/09/2013 19:14

Lots of action this weekend. Welcome back all those who have been away.

Dinky glad the nanny's licence is sorted.

Abz how is J?

Sorry to hear some are having to wake lots at night.
Cheek I have been giving J formula at around the same time and must say he always sleeps from 10-4:30am and then gets bf. I mix feed as i struggled with supply at the beginning so not an issue over here.

Abzs · 29/09/2013 19:53

Silver, J has recovered now. He was definitely off colour for a couple of days after the imms. Thanks for asking.

He's still on 48hour pooing , which is quite unpleasant, as they are liquid and smelly and get everywhere (tmi?). He does smell quite rank at times, even after bathing.

Still not managing to enforce a routine, but he's sticking to a rough pattern. Still won't go properly to bed until after a last feed at 22.30. He slept through to 6/7 a couple of nights last week - butternut squash is an excellent description cheek - but has also woken at 3.30 the last two nights.

Oh dear, think it's time for the evening cluster feed to start...

dinkystinky · 29/09/2013 20:25

Lucky you Beginning - we're still waiting for our poonami - its going to be really quite something when it arrives.

Cheek - I tried waking J for a bf last night at 10ish and he went 10 till 4 too on a bm feed (which was heaven after the hellish few nights before) so if you're finding it uncomfortable it might be worth trying a bf instead of formula if you havent already (apologies and ignore if you have and the formula seems to be the magic key).

Glad J is better Abzs. My J is sticking to a rough pattern of not sleeping much during the day time - today he's been awake since 4pm and only just gone down at 7.30! Will see what the night brings...

Grannyapple · 30/09/2013 07:31

Hi ladies...sorry not posted but I've been lurking!!
Can't believe A is 2 months already...will be time to go back to work before I know it!

Eugh...is going to be a long day....A woke at 3.50...nothing unusual there, but took aged to get her back down. She eventually went back down at 5.20. In the meantime, her big bro N woke at 4.30, crying & came running into our room. DH took him back to his own room to settle him but he was having none of it..then DH had shower etc at 6 for work & N back in our room, shouting etc & waking A.

Got A's 8 wk check & jabs this afternoon...think its going to be a looong day me thinks....lots of coffee required at least!

wifey6 · 30/09/2013 07:55

Oo no Granny - do you think you'll be able to get a nap in yourself today? Difficult I know with 2 LOs. My DS1 hasn't napped in nearly 18 months so no chance of a cheeky nap for me while DS2 naps either.

Hope A's injections go well today.

wifey6 · 30/09/2013 07:56

I'm back on FB now so as soon as I get time - I'll read through what everyone's been up to

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 30/09/2013 09:17

Sorry you had such a shit night, Granny. DH and I split the overnight childcare at the moment. I mind N all night and he deals with DD1 if she wakes in the night & when she gets up for the day, which is generally any time after 5am.

No routine here yet. Every day seems to be completely different. N's morning wake up changes completely, so I have no idea when she might nap from one day to the next. DD1 still has a nap after lunch, but they've never napped at the same time, unfortunately.

cheekbyjowl · 30/09/2013 12:37

Fingers crossed you get a better nights sleep tonight granny.

Ive just met my first competitive mother. Dont long to meet many more. apparently her child doesnt cry, is far more alert and has probably recited beowulf...Angry

MrsRoss26 · 01/10/2013 02:06

Cheek she sounds like a smug twit! May her next child be an evil devil's banshee who screams too much, never lets her sleep, and embarrasses her in a shops Grin

dinkystinky · 01/10/2013 06:46

Hmm a child that doesn't cry sounds like a doll - are you sure she isn't one of those life doll matters?

PhieEl06 · 01/10/2013 08:49

Hello all!
I am so sorry I haven't been on in so long, this life with a not so newborn is hectic! I have been keeping up to date on our Facebook page though!!
I hope you're all well & I will try to keep up now!

Runswithsquirrels · 01/10/2013 18:40

Hello all, I'm another who has been absent too long. These babies really do keep you busy, don't they? I hope everyone is well. X
