Dp always gets home from football training just after half nine. I've said before if he's staying for a beer to let me know as the roads round here are so dangerous and I sorry otherwise (I know I know but it takes two seconds to send a text and I've said I don't mind at all I just like to know) he's just got in now and thinks it's funny that I was worrying about him Angry

Ds hits my nose to make me make a noise Blush his legs are too weak to pull himself up but he really wants to. Think he's going to have the same problems as dd Sad

SeymoreButts · 08/08/2013 03:13

mama they don't sell pampers over here, so it might be worth switching when you come back! Maybe C needs to move up a size?

maryland DS was exactly like that with the dummy, he wouldn't sleep without it during the day but didn't need it at night. But it had started to creep in during the first half of the night over the last few weeks.

Oh no Prunella I hate that, especially when it hits your bra. Although I'm always grateful not to get sick on/in my mouth!

Ouch willyou I'm not looking forward to the pulling up stage, although DS is nowhere near it yet.

WL it's where they force fluid into the IV line rather than wait for it to drip through a bag.

Will have to google the ikea ad, I'm intrigued!

Sorry I know this has been covered before, but how much milk should they be having around now? DS is really resisting breastfeeding and the bottle, I'm not sure if it's illness or age!!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 08/08/2013 04:50

You say that Seymore but on Monday I said DS has never even tried pulling himself up, he's nowhere near it. Always keep us on our toes!

It's currently playtime for us. I am lying in our spare bed squinting at him and listening to Ewan the dream sheep as he rolls around being a menace. He's discovered the buttons in Ewan's legs and loves pressing them so we may be listening to it for a while yet.

SpottyTeacakes · 08/08/2013 06:33

Yay lie in until 6:30!

Seymore ds has four bf and one 5oz bottle a day. Bf can only be a couple of minutes during the day apparently it's really common at this age

lazzaroo · 08/08/2013 06:43

Up for feed at 1am, back down till 4.30. Managed to get her back to sleep but se woke about 10mis after going back in the cot at 5.20! so we gt up then. Jealous of your lie in spotty!

Seymour I think minimum recommended is 500ml but not sure. DD is ebf so I have no idea how much she has. Like Spotty she feeds 4/5 times a day. Sometimes not for very long. Common for them to be too distracted to feed, put off if teething or just while working out balance between milk/food. intake from dairy products counts, so maybe go for yoghurts, cauli cheese etc if you're worried.

jackandjilly · 08/08/2013 07:14

Good night here last night although I was on tender hooks as ds woke the night before with teeth. Took a good hour of cal pol and cuddles to get him down again.

No pulling up or kisses or clapping here either but he does give a mean cuddle! Puts his head right into my neck and arms round too, it's sooooo lovely!

When do you find out about the job spotty? Fx for you.

I'm due back at work in a few weeks and I'm starting to panic. Ds will be at a childminders 3 days a week 8-4.30 with the occasional longer stint where dh will pick him up and put him to bed. He completely refuses a bottle and will only drink water from a sippy cup. I know he will not starve as he eats well but I'm worried about him not having enough milk/comfort plus and how dh will be able to settle him when I'm not here. Also selfishly worried he make start to wake again in the night for milk just when we have him sorted! Any advice would be great!

Where are you holidaying isthat? I'm in Lincolnshire too!

SpottyTeacakes · 08/08/2013 07:42

Jack should find out tomorrow. Hmm no advice I'm afraid. One of the reasons this job appeals is because the longest day is 6.5 hours and ds will only be five minutes away if he's desperate for a feed my stepmum can bring him in when I have a break Grin I'm wondering if they can have cows milk as a drink at this age. I know they can't have it as a main milk but if it's just twice a day in addition to bf maybe it would be ok? You could get two feeds in before work (5&7?) and two or three after work when you're not working late? I'm sure it will work out Smile I know exactly what you mean about worrying about them waking at night again!

Barbeasty · 08/08/2013 08:15

Another rough night, although he did sleep in the cot until midnight. Then more feeding, wriggling and whining, until is sat on the edge of my bed at 4.20.

Instantly he fell into a deep sleep! So deep that I could lie down next to him (just because he wriggles to lie across the bed) and he didn't stir! He slept until I woke him at 6.45, I slept until my alarm went off at 5.

jackandjilly · 08/08/2013 09:31

Thanks spotty, I'm sure it will work outSmile would love to see the look on my students faces if ds came in for a quick feedGrinGrin sadly not an option as I'm an hour awayHmm

Fx for you

jackandjilly · 08/08/2013 09:32

Sorry to hear of rough sleep barbeasty. Sorry if I missed it but is it teeth?

SpottyTeacakes · 08/08/2013 11:31

Shock I got the job Shock

jackandjilly · 08/08/2013 11:45

GrinGrin Nice one spotty! Congratulations!

lazzaroo · 08/08/2013 12:54

Yay, congratulations spotty

Maryland2013 · 08/08/2013 14:06

Well done Spotty : )

when do you start??

SpottyTeacakes · 08/08/2013 14:26

Not until 2nd September :)

PrunellaDeVille · 08/08/2013 14:36

Thanks congratulations spotty

ds is pulling up here wherever he can. got some way up the chest of drawers before his feet slipped and he headbutted the metal handle Sad . once he'd calmed down he grabbed for a wooden filing box which flipped back at him and clonked him in the same spot on his head. he now has a big red lump on his forehead with a dent in the middle and what looks like the start of his first black eye Sad

it's nap time - should I worry about delayed concussion?

out with lots of friends tonight, I'm going to have to explain my carelessness over and over...

SpottyTeacakes · 08/08/2013 14:45

Ds will not stop crying argh

WLmum · 08/08/2013 15:12

Cows milk is fine to drink, just as you say as long as its in addition to bf/formula and not replacing it.

After our tricky start we had a good night with just one wake up about 3 and settled reluctantly after a v quick feed (wouldn't settle without a token) then up at 6.30. Will try again tonight for no boob but I do feel its a big step back in the right direction. I feel so much better for a decent stretch of sleep.

SpottyTeacakes · 08/08/2013 15:15

WL I just tried the back carry I think I need to start with it a but tighter as once ds was round I struggled to get his legs positioned. Also he thought it was hilarious that he could grab my hair Hmm

Barbeasty · 08/08/2013 15:28

My worry with back carries is either not seeing that A's been sick, or having to wash my hair!

Well done spotty that's fantastic.

Yes, A is teething. As in finally got one through. But thatwas Monday, so I'm expect more for all this disruption!

Mind you, we both have horrible colds, and a phonecall for the 2nd day in a row asking to give DD calpol for a temperature means I'm in for even more nose wiping. Just in time for our long weekend in Bournemouth.

DH has almost come around to the idea of Peppa Pig world, so we might be there on Monday.

But I'm now on holiday for more than a week- and when the DC are at nursery next week I'll get 2 child free days.

SpottyTeacakes · 08/08/2013 17:38

I've got a blocked duct and I can't get DS to feed I'm getting really Angry with him I keep trying every hour or two but he's not interested at all (on either side)

Barbeasty · 08/08/2013 18:10

Not again spotty. Will he clear it later/ overnight do you think?

SpottyTeacakes · 08/08/2013 18:17

He won't feed again now until the morning he refuses boob at bedtime Hmm he just had a small feed but I don't think it cleared. Hopefully he can clear it in the morning

PurplePidjin · 08/08/2013 18:35

Barb wave on your way past :)

PurplePidjin · 08/08/2013 18:36

Oh, and get in the fast lane as you come past J1 of the M27. It turns into the A31 there, two lanes up a long hill. The lorries often jam up the inside :)
