Bloody hell I've been trying to get DS down for a nap for 1.5h. He's exhausted as a last ditch attempt I stroked down his head and across his eyes. Boom, slumped down out like a light! It was awesome, it'll never work again but wow!

WLmum · 07/08/2013 14:47

So glad he's on the mend seymour. What's a fluid bolus?

Wow willyou!!

beasty that sounds tough.

Sending positive vibes your way spotty

WillYouDoTheFandango · 07/08/2013 15:14

Ouch sorry about the bad night Barbeasty, fingers crossed A has a full set of gnashers tomorrow! J's teething again. He's just slept for 30 mins then woke up screaming. So he slept for 1/3 of the time it took me to get him to sleep Hmm

halestone · 07/08/2013 15:18

Sorry about the teething Beasty and Willyou.

I've just taken H's dirty nappy outside to the bin but left her on the floor on her changing nap, but moved the top n tail bowl out of her way. I came back in and shes rolled over to the bowl and tipped the water over herself she was drenched.

MaMaPo · 07/08/2013 16:35

Hello all - sounds like some good sleep, rubbish sleep, hit and miss naps and mischief going on! And goodness Seymore, what an ordeal. You must be relieved he's ok.

Ok sleep here but for the last 2 nights C has woken up completely drenched in wee - right through the happy, sleep suit, sleeping bag, sheet and mattress protector. I just changed her nappy earlier and for a 4-hour daytime nappy (not including any sleep time) it was very heavy. Any idea if this is a problem (except for all the extra washing?). She's not getting tht much extra fluid... I'm going to get her weighed tomorrow so I'll ask the HV not that I hold out much hope of useful info and I'm off to the supermarket to get some more pampers nappies - they used to last fine.

OP posts:
PrunellaDeVille · 07/08/2013 17:47

mama - are you using pampers night nappies? they were a revelation to me (meant I could extend my lie ins Blush )

Seymour how scary, glad he's improved.

enjoyed the pleasure of a waterfall necklace of vomit earlier. playing with C, holding him above me when he threw up on my throat, my immediate reaction was to sit up which sent it pouring down my décolletage Confused

oh the joys Smile

lazzaroo · 07/08/2013 17:49

mama we used to find other types of nappies (mainly huggies) would leak with dd1 but pampers were always fine. Not sure why.

Hope it went ok spotty

Have had rubbish naps today. Hope it doesn't mean I'm in for a disturbed night.

Baby lazza desperate to be on her feet and she's efficient enough and shuffling to get her hands on whatbshe wants....and it all ends up in her mouth. spotty you might be right about the straw cup. She was clambering all over dd1 to get to hers today Smile

MaMaPo · 07/08/2013 18:17

I used to use the baby dry pampers ones but started buying the Kiddicare just4bums. They have been fine but have just failed us. I couldn't find the right size of pampers today so we're in the old nappies - fx they last. Might do a preemptive change when she wakes around 4.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 07/08/2013 18:39

Pampers baby dry one size up is what we did when all else failed. It's truly awesome how long they can sleep in those!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 07/08/2013 18:41

Oops DS pressed post.

Nice vomity cleavage there Prunella.

We have babas! I know he doesn't know what it means etc yet but he'll copy me Or am I deluded and it's a fluke? I'll FB a video.

PurplePidjin · 07/08/2013 19:00

Bamboo fitteds with wool longies are bomb proof...

SpottyTeacakes · 07/08/2013 19:02

So it seems DS is always a pain at night time when he hasn't had a bath Hmm

DS' only leaked once luckily, but the Baby Dry are really good. MaMa no idea about the big wees I'm afraid.

Poor you Pru that sounds, ummm, gross!

WillYou We have 'ma da ba' (mum, dad Bella) obvioulsy a fluke genius. It's all part of learning to talk though, they only continue to do it because of the reaction you give them, at this age they make the sounds then learn what it means ie they will say dada automatically but it's only how you react that teaches them what/who dada is (well that's what I think Wink)

lazza hope your night is OK, we had good naps today, maybe to make up for yesterday's crap ones

I think the interview went well but I thought that last time Wink

MaMaPo · 07/08/2013 19:18

Pidj I'm contemplating moving to reusable nappies once we're settled back in Australia (and have a washing line and fresh air). Do you reckon it's still worth it cost-wise if I start at around a year?

Babydry it is.

We have lots of vocalising here, but not much ongoing babbling. C just likes to erupt with a definitive 'Ga!' now and then. I took her to my old work today and as I was standing in the corridor talking to my old consultant, she kept hooting and singing - I think she liked the echo. She did very well getting handed around all the nurses, didn't get upset at all.

OP posts:
IsThatTrue · 07/08/2013 19:19

seymore how scary I'm really glad DS is on the mend.

willyou it's lovely being here although DS is all out if routine so naps are very hit and miss which is making him grumpier than usual.

spotty fx your interview went as well as you think it did.

Spent a long day out in town today with a few hours soft play. Ds2 seems to attract children :) he had no end of playmates. He was completely obsessed with a little 1yr old who was walking around. He can't wait to be off on his feet!

PurplePidjin · 07/08/2013 19:32

I bought mostly preloved and, at £5 for a pack of sposies, have made my money back already. I've sold the ones that didn't work for us, and will sell the outgrown ones on too.

Aussie custom nappies are amazing Envy

MaMaPo · 07/08/2013 19:40

Custom nappies? Are they different from reusable? Basically i need a cheat sheet to get up to speed on all this...

WLmum · 07/08/2013 20:27

T will not settle tonight. She's been in and out of the cot and now I'm feeding again in desperation although she's not feeding just dummying so will stop in a minute. Does not bode well for tonight! Might have a little cry, I'm exhausted.

SpottyTeacakes · 07/08/2013 20:28

Oh no WL Sad It's quite muggy tonight I thought. You should go to bed when she does, ignore the chores for tonight!

PurplePidjin · 07/08/2013 20:37

Nooooooo, custom nappies are awesome - usually a pocket nappy (waterproof outer, fleece inner, separate absorbent bits) with your choice of fabric, embroidery, ruffles etc. Will google and fb for you :)

R now has 2 visible teeth. And today hid himself behind my arm so he could peep-bo my mum!

lazzaroo · 07/08/2013 20:56

Have re-settled baby lazza 3 times since she fell asleep during bedtime feed at 6.45pm. She cries, I pick her up out of cot & she passes out on my shoulder. Literally only takes a few minutes but no point in going to bed till I think she's sorted.

I've just eaten 3 chocolate bars! Blush

And have just seen the new ikea advert. It's a bit freaky!

SpottyTeacakes · 07/08/2013 21:07

I think I'm the only person to like the new Ikea ad!

WLmum · 07/08/2013 21:10

So cute pidj
Loving your work lazza, I'm just about to pop in a custard cream or 2, one quick job then bed spotty

halestone · 07/08/2013 21:37

WL hope your night improves. Grin

Awww Pidj how cute i bet your mum was chuft.

Lazza i was addicted to chocolate whilst bf its taken me a while to stop eating as much. I was quite happily munching through a couple of family sized bars a day.

Has anyone found that their babies have suddenly learnt to do loads. In the last week H has learnt to wave, clap and also give kisses when we say kisses. Her kisses are dead cute, when we say kisses and lean our head close to her she opens her mouth sticks her tongue out and leans in and licks/kisses your lips GrinGrin

lazzaroo · 07/08/2013 21:58

hales that's cute Smile. Baby lazza is changing really quickly. It's exciting but I get sad if I think about it too much too! Time goes too quickly.

Just re-settled again. But have to risk it and go to bed now. Fingers crossed for another long stretch.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 07/08/2013 22:19

Good luck Lazza

Yes Hales in the last 2 days J has come on loads. He has learned to pull himself up, started ga ga ba baing and started playing with his music table rather than just licking stuff Grin We've been trying clap hands, waving and kisses - none if them have caught on yet. He does hold my hand now though and makes me touch buttons on the entertainer.
