Old thread here.

We seemed to be running out of space (again) so I made us a new thread.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Plonkysaurus · 20/08/2013 07:21

Stormy that sounds like a six pint chat. Hope you're ok.

Worse I'm a bit concerned over his physical development. I'm sure hell be fine in the long run but you lot have all had rolling babies for a month now and he still needs a lot of encouragement.

On the other hand we've just had the perfect night. Down at 7, no fussing or dummy returns, only just woke. That is a first. He's now happily playing with his feet so is best go feed him.

Plonkysaurus · 20/08/2013 07:34

Oh also Worse he's developed a fake cough Hmm I suspect grandad taught him that one.

And with food, well we just kept offering. When purées were snubbed I started passing him chunks of anything I was eating, and now he loves purées again. After our success with crumble and custard I'd suggest that, but the collective wisdom of MN terrifies me.

worsestershiresauce · 20/08/2013 07:36

Plonky I wouldn't worry about it. Apparently I could talk fluently before I could walk, which given we were living in a flat with a balcony was something my mum was more than happy about. He'll roll when he wants to, or he might just bypass that step completely.

If it makes you feel any better the worselet regards the silverback sitting routine as way too advanced to even consider.

worsestershiresauce · 20/08/2013 07:39

We've got the cough too!!! I thought she must have been sneezed on by one of her adoring fan club (for which read old ladies in the village), but no, it's just a new and exciting noise that can be used to freak mummy out.

KFFOREVER · 20/08/2013 09:32

plonky we have a fake cough as well. He coughs looking at me then laughs.

Im very Envy that most babies are sleeping through apart from mine. Woke up 4 times last night. 3 was a feed and the other a dummy return. Will he ever sleep through? Hmm

ecofreckle · 20/08/2013 10:09

Morning all.

worse if you want theatrics then please have a look at my most recently uploaded photo. Feel free to offer captions Grin

You have prodigiously talented babies you lot!
We have:
Smiles in response to dancing, us smiling, singing, ticking, peep-po type stuff
Sleeping through. Mostly.
Rolling back to front.
Sitting silverback style. But not very happily.
Good dexterity with using both hands to take things accurately to mouth.
Successful sucks on crazy baby lolly thing and cucumber sticks/crusts less so the slice of pepper I gave here in Wagamamas yesterday
Good doidy cup work although not swallowing the water that goes in

We don?t have:
Spontaneous smiling
Rolling from front to back
Sitting unaided
Chewing stuff
Swallowing stuff mummy taught her not to

We are off to Sure Start Baby resuscitation course today. Ho hum.

Plonkysaurus · 20/08/2013 10:27

Eco she seems to be saying 'Ay say!'

Well whaddya know. I went out to peg some washing on the line, leaving DS on his playmat. Cue crying. He'd only bloody rolled onto his belly!

SoYo · 20/08/2013 13:34

He just wanted to make you worry Plonk.

KFF you're not alone, 4 wakes here too last night which is very standard. It'll happen one day and we're owed beautifully behaved teenagers!

KFFOREVER · 20/08/2013 17:48

soyo we live in hope!

We went baby sign today and we I loved it. Next week is baby reflexology. Mini KF has more of a social life than me. Im going to miss these moments when i go back to work.

Hope you all had a lovely day.

worsestershiresauce · 20/08/2013 20:39

Eco hilarious, gorgeous, all of the above.... brings to mind one of those comedy postcards. I think she's saying 'Back off babies, he's all mine' Grin

Plonky you may live to rue the day you wanted a roll. I predict a week of falling on face and wailing (ds, not you). It can get tedious, after the 99th rescue.

KF, SoYo you'll have the last laugh... I just know it. If the tiddler is anything like me she is storing up all manner of hell for my future pleasure. That said she appears to be having a good old go at raising the dead right now. I probably ought to go and rescue DH. That's a probably Grin...

ecofreckle · 21/08/2013 00:25

Hello wise owls. Just waiting to take baby to hospital Sad.
DD hasn't woken up in the night and screamed blue murder for literally months (4?) but she did tonight so that's atypical for her. It was that sort of inconsolable back to the colic days wail. We patted, we cuddled, we soothed. As it was unusual for her I took her temperature. It was 34.8, so I did other ear 35.2. The books didn't say anything so I had a casual google whilst DH administered more cuddles. The first thing I saw was low temperature in babies can be sign of mass organ failure so I flew to the phone in paranoid Mum style expecting 111 to say 'there there dear'. But, after asking lots of questions (none that I gave alarming answers to) they want to see her (the thermometer gave a normal reading for me). The new 111 system is to give an appointment at the hospital; so that's where we are off to. They advised calpol and a feed which I did and she is currently sleeping. I have to wake her soon Hmm and bundle her into the car and into a brightly lit hospital. That'd make anyone feel ill.
When the HCP express caution it makes me a bit jittery. I always expect them to say all is well.

KFFOREVER · 21/08/2013 04:27

Oh my eco. How scary. I hope you are all ok.

pudtat · 21/08/2013 05:37

Eco I'm sure they're just being super cautious but better safe than sorry. Hope by now you're seen and reassured and settling in at home once more but if not then at least you're in the best place. Big hugs for you.

worsestershiresauce · 21/08/2013 06:56

Eco Thinking of you. Hope all is well and they were just being cautious given DD's age.

vjhist85 · 21/08/2013 07:33

Oh eco how scary. All the media surrounding 111 suggests they are over cautious and I'm praying that's the case here. Hope you're already home and enjoying a lovely snuggly lie in with your beautiful dd.

Anypants · 21/08/2013 08:23

eco - hope DD is ok. Are you back yet? What was the diagnosis? Sad

Plonkysaurus · 21/08/2013 08:26

Oh no Eco, I hope you're back hope now and all is fine Flowers

StormyBrid · 21/08/2013 08:36

Any news yet, eco?

OP posts:
pudtat · 21/08/2013 08:55

Thinking of you and dd this morning Eco. Hope news is good.

ecofreckle · 21/08/2013 09:28

Hello everyone and many thanks for kind wishes. The waiting as unpleasant hence my sharing. Dd didn't stay asleep for long so taking her to hospital was fine. They checked her thoroughly. Doctor had same thermometer as us and they gave same reading. Her temp was back to normal by time we arrived. He checked her out properly and thankfully, yet strangely, could find no obvious reason for the prior low body temp. She's been feeding fine but is just a bit all over the place. If I hadn't picked up the thermometer last night I'd have put it down to impending wonder week and got on with it. So, all very strange. They told us to Calpol her for three days and keep close eye. We're now under care of regular doc. Despite her relatively sleep free night she is doing ok. We'll see how day progresses. Suspect mummy will need a nap at some point! Dh now out all day and evening and Have MIL coming to stay later. With her current beau. Sigh.
Thanks again for your good vibes. Happy days to YOu all.

Plonkysaurus · 21/08/2013 09:32

Glad to hear all is well, sounds like you've had a very stressful night. You're a far better person than I, I'd be telling mil to get stuffed under the circumstances! Are you not tempted to spend the evening collapsed in a comfy chair with a good book and some proper comfort food?

SoYo · 21/08/2013 09:57

Oh Eco, what a horrid night. I was going to whinge about mine but it pales in comparison. Make sure you get a good nap at some point, any chance DH cold not be out for the evening?

worsestershiresauce · 21/08/2013 11:04

Thank god Eco. I was so worried for you. Babies seem so vulnerable don't they, and it is terrifying when anything happens. I'm glad you are home, and ok. Take it easy, and agree, put the MIL off for a week. I'm sure she'll understand. She's a mum too after all so must have some inkling.

Hugs SoYo, hope tonight is better.

pudtat · 21/08/2013 14:48

So pleased things seem ok. Hope the Eco family managed a gentle day.

WingDefence · 21/08/2013 19:12

Gosh eco, I've just seen this (I was trying to catch up with the rest of the thread but have failed).

So glad to hear that they checked you out and found nothing too worrying. I hope calpol will do its magic for you for a few days.

DD is nearly 21 weeks and doing well although we had a sleep regression when we went on holiday so she only sleeps through on average half the week.

Can't believe I have to start thinking about weaning next Confused
