Fuck ME! My bath is sparkling. Grin

Glad I ordered a job lot of magic erasers!

DP's turn to clean something.... I vote... The oven!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!

I keep looking for marks to erase Grin.

Someone is going to come along and bust my bubble in a minute aren't they? And tell me they are made from donkey sperm and dead rats teeth or something?!

ValiumQueen · 01/07/2013 17:51

Donkey sperm Grin love it!

My plan for a bit of peace today was scuppered by a screaming baby who eventually fell asleep less than five minutes before the girls got back. He fell asleep in the Jumperoo. I put him in his cot and he stayed asleep indeed still is. Poor little sod.

I washed my hair Smile so am feeling quite sparkly. Lifted my mood a tad until I heard J screaming.

Clarella · 01/07/2013 17:59

donkey sperm Grin

please throw north shields fish market at me quiche. why o why do I feel so sad when I have a beautiful little boy, a house, a job, a lovely friend who spent the day hanging out with me and finally the beginnings of a garden out back? I need sea bass quick.

Clarella · 01/07/2013 18:01

idea for entertaining a boy .... volcano out of vinegar, bicarb etc or pile of mentos and some cheap cola in the back yard.....?

YellowWellies · 01/07/2013 18:04

Stacks there'.s a couple of us in Fife (I'm in Kirkcaldy but head into the city at least one day a week) there are a couple on the FB group in Edinburgh, a central Scotland Stirling contingent and a couple more over Glasgow way. We try to meet pretty regularly - speaking of which haggis quiche - what's going on this week - I'm happy to head Stirling way on the train? You should join us!

As for your milk hurting - yep if its CMPI and you've still got dairy in your milk (it takes 3-6 weeks to clear your systems) it could be hurting - either reflux or tummy cramps. But simultaneously because BM is a natural antacid they comfort feed when in pain (even though its a vicious circle). Have you got the cot head propped up so the stomach acid doesn't reflux up at night? Lying flat often hurts them so nights are worse.

We've had a screamfest today - I think it's teeth (but that's my stopgap / don't know what's wrong answer Confused ) - bad enough to buy a bottle of calpol and administer it in the supermarket aisle (didn't even wait until we'd paid for it!) he was blotchy red faced and hysterical Blush .

I bought 5 new plants (2 iris, 1 red hot poker, a fatsia Japonica and a broom) I have a gardening problem.

Clarella I still BF to sleep I figure we've been doing it for millennia Blush Blush Blush

VQ raaahhh to the tax credits, but what nobbers for assuming psychic powers amongst the general public at large Confused !!!!

YellowWellies · 01/07/2013 18:10
Wink
Clarella · 01/07/2013 18:11

I need to vent though I am lucky. so it's an unreasonable vent. dh who is always looking for the cheapest way to do stuff (lucky) has arranged a black out blind which is a sheet you velcro to the window. all fine if you're 6foot. not if you're 5 '2" and on you're own.

don't get me wrong it's fab, great quality and keeps all the light out but a fucking faff to put up. taking bets on how long it lasts... .

Clarella · 01/07/2013 18:12
Grin

must admit feed to sleep is a secret weapon

Clarella · 01/07/2013 18:14

I'm really glad you found the quiche stacks to help out with dairy reflux etc. hope all is well

they're fab Smile

ValiumQueen · 01/07/2013 18:52

Clarella do you feel a deep sadness or temporary pissed-off-ness ? If it is proper sad, then it could be PND related. I have a blackout thing that attaches with suckers. Gro Bag Company. It is a faff, but good.

Detective I would have taken that comment outside Angry or at least inwardly wanted to. I would have probably said WTF and got evicted.

Stacks · 01/07/2013 19:18

My doctor was useless about allergies. Said to keep eating milk and eggs, to feed them to DS, and to wait until out scheduled reflux appointment at the end of the month and ask their advice. Also that dietician appointments are like gold dust, and cmpi is a "fashionable diagnosis" just now (in a tone implying she thinks its boo locks (hehe, iPhone won't swear) she also said "breastmilk has lactose in" so me cutting out dairy wouldn't help.

I'm thinking its not advice I should follow? I'm particularly worried at the suggestion I keep giving DS milk and eggs. I'm scared to try exposing him again, though DH thinks as she's a doctor she knows what she's talking about so we should do it.

TheDetective · 01/07/2013 19:28

Okay. So asking DP to clean the oven was the stupidest thing ever.

He has broken the glass on the front.

Given it is broken due to (a very long story but I did a thread on it!) various things and it was going to be repaired by ME (!) this week, it has now been removed and is in the car ready to go to the tip. Hmm

New oven it is then. Hmm

Fucked off. DP also made a massive hole in the living room with a drill yesterday.

Siiiiiiiiiiiiigh.

Oh and taking the oven out has confirmed what utter con artists I bought this house from. I won't even tell you what it was held up by Confused.

Clarella · 01/07/2013 19:30

vq it's v weird. deep sadness in a wave. but I'm recovering from a few months of anxiety over horrendous b feeding, his low birth weight (dhs big issue) reflux, sleeping (not sleeping), mastitis, arguments etc etc and now realising that I've also had a thyroid wobble which always makes me anxious and obsess over stuff as can't think straight followed by feeling low so could be that. which is all normal manageable stuff that many women experience. it worries me a bit that I currently feel v sad when I hug my lo.

I'm not stressing over it though, should help when thyroid stabilises. some exersise will help too. I think the school asking for a certificate of fitness following maternity leave (as returning in holiday) hasn't helped either as right now I'm not that well! I will be in a couple of weeks though.

I'm annoyed not to feel happy as bf is so lovely right now. and my gorgeous baby is so adorable too. maybe I'm a little in mourning for missing out on the bf loveliness when he was littler. weaning hit n miss too!

yes black out thingy is actually extremely good. I just got in a noisy velcro muddle putting it up. and we use buckets of velcro at work so not a nice reminderGrin

and actually think ewan harp might be helping too detective Grin Grin

TheDetective · 01/07/2013 19:31

Angry Stacks your GP is a cunt of the highest order.

On phone doing bedtime so full reply will follow once on laptop unless someone gets in there before me!

I saw your thread earlier btw. :)

Clarella · 01/07/2013 19:34

once again I'm in awe of the services in the north east - I'm meeting so many women whos los have diagnosed cmpi. I'm sorry youre battling stacks.

a pead who is in my local lll says there's 2 sorts - one is very fast full allergy the other slow onset. personally stacks I'd try for a second opinion and ask for a referral. do what your gut instinct says.

StuntNun · 01/07/2013 19:38

No no no Stacks do not listen to the insane wazzock GP. If a child reacts to dairy and eggs you have no way of knowing what any future reaction may be. Maybe the last time it was an itchy red rash and a wee cough, the next time could be anaphylactic shock. Usually when there's a reaction the child is 'challenged' at regular intervals with the substance in a hospital with someone ready to deal with any serious reactions. They probably won't do that for a baby under 1 though since anaphylaxis can be fatal in young babies. I'm not trying to scare you (honest!) the actual risk of anaphylaxis is small, but I want to be clear just how badly you have been advised. I would avoid dairy and egg in both of your diets until you have seen an allergy specialist / dietitian / someone that an advise you properly.

summed up better by det

all on the nice website. first factsheet says what gp should do

on phone link may not work....

www.evidence.nhs.uk/search?q=cows%20milk%20protein%20intolerance

Clarella · 01/07/2013 19:42

and stunt!

wazzock!!!

YellowWellies · 01/07/2013 19:45

Stacks if its CMPI your baby is intolerant of the protein in cow's milk not the lactose. The soy protein molecules are a similar size and shape which is why 40% of CMPI babies react to soy too. If CMPI is ignored long enough it can cause secondary lactose intolerance and wee ones can then react to the lactose in BM (think explosive nappies and noxious farts). I do wish some GPs would learn to shut their cake holes when talking about stuff they know feck all about. Angry Angry Angry

StuntNun · 01/07/2013 19:45

I've just started an AIBU thread if anyone wants to join in with the flaming.

Hello! We survived just but more of that in a mo

Kyz I have not the foggiest what I said to get deleted! Blush Not sure whether to be embarrassed or a little bit proud?!

Bry hope Rs birthday was lovely, I really hope she has a better year this year. She sounds like a delight, despite all the problems she has had.

Izzy sorry your night was so awful. I so hope you can start to make some progress with the weaning with the help of the nurses.

Good luck sophia

VQ Sad to yet more illness. But Grin at the idea of J on his princess changing mat!

Chasing so glad to hear you sounding so proud of yourself, mummy instincts are always right!

Clarella

Det I know I shouldn't laugh but I did just let a chuckle slip out at reading about the oven. You really don't have the best of any luck with appliances do you!?

So today.
Dropped F off - she began to sob as I walked towards the door....
Work was fine, no problems at all. Only got marginally tearful when I saw someone else carrying their baby. And again when an 18 yr old died in a car accident. Never nice, but worse now I'm coming from a parents perspective.
Went to pick F up, she was sobbing in the garden. I was greeted by the CM saying "thank god you're here, she's done this all day" Shock With the exception of her 2 feeds, and 2 brief naps in the pushchair, she has cried for the entire day. In the swing, in the garden, indoors, in someones arms Sad. She stopped the instant I picked her up. It doesn't help that she has, this evening, erupted in a snot fountain which can only be making her super clingy.
I am not looking forward to tomorrow Sad

BigPigLittlePig · 01/07/2013 19:56

Oh. Italics fail Blush

BigPigLittlePig · 01/07/2013 19:56

I'm still wondering what on earth I said to get deleted!?
