No dancing or chattering here pass! We just get squeals and laughs really!

He used to make a variety of noises, but now not so much, no bababa or dadada or anything closely resembling a word.

I'm not sure why, I haven't changed what we did. We talk to him loads, give him time to answer etc. He just looks at me funny! Confused

He does do a beavis huhuhuhuhuh laugh, but only when he sees his bottle being shaken!!! At baby group yesterday the leader held him while I ran off to warm the bottle. Everyone was sat in a circle, and as I sat down shaking the bottle O was doing the laugh, much to the amusement of all the other mums. Grin

In fact he was at his best in the group yesterday, showing off all his skillz. Climbing, rolling, spinning, hanging upside down as I grapple him to change his nappy. He has no fear! Except sellotape and roaring!

Chasing I remember those feelings well. It will get better. I promise. I wish I was so much closer! Stupid distance. Pfffft.

Clarella Oh gosh, you are really going through it. I understand how frustrating it is, trying to find a reason. It's taken a long time for us to find the right combination of things for O too. Trial and error. Fucking sucks :(

Kyzordz · 21/06/2013 10:41

morning peeps, another 11 1/2 hours here, 6 nights with no feeds so fc this continues :)

sounds like j is getting there with the neocate izzy :)

luis at least there are good ones around :)

stunt hugs sounds rough there :(

chasing sounds like you need hugs too, you're doing fab, I do think you could try a walk and see if it clears anything, hope you have a chillaxed day today

hope the antibiotics help pass, bless you. eric says the odd word, hello, baby, doggy, dada and mama. he keeps babbling something to do with b but I don't think it's words just noises and general babbles! e also does the he he he type laugh, cracks me up!

well done o detective you must feel like a new woman! :)

e didn't want any breakfast this morning but I am trying not to think anything of it, will offer meals today and see what happens. he drank his bottle so no need to worry repeats to self

YellowWellies · 21/06/2013 10:41

Pass what did doc say it was? I've had recurring fever / chills, achy joints, sore throat and fatigue since woo February? I just think I'm over it and it flares up again - typically every 3 fucking weeks and I'm down for days. Last time I tried antibiotics J cried for 18 hours Sad so I'm wary of that route - I'm madly gargling with salt water and TCP as I can feel the scratch in my throat suggesting it's about to flare up again Sad .

No dancing here but he is proper babababa babbling. We get the beavis and butthead laugh when he hears the click of me undoing the nursing bra Smile .

Chasing allow yourself to feel down and grieve for the relationship you had hoped it would be. Him moving on quickly might help - I bet you'll actually feel sorry for any new birds he hooks up with.

Sophia go back to 20 - shudder! Dear god no I was a stupid little girl who'd put up with any old shit from a bloke 'because I love him' / he was 'the one' and I wanted to play at being a grown up: engaged and playing house when I had no clue (least of all about who I was). 26 onwards was much more fun: leaving the bastard, seeing the world and having the money and confidence to enjoy life on my own terms. I travelled round South America and the Galapagos, then overlanding the old Silk Road (collecting 'stans), then China, Nepal, India, Pakistan - the Karakorum highway. Moved to Hong Kong. Serious partying. I am planning another epic overland for when J is 11 or 12. Take him out of school for a year. I have perennial wanderlust Smile .

I heard an interesting fact on R4 a few days ago - human puberty technically lasts until 25 as that's the age brain chemistry, hormonal changes and adult 'impulse control' and rational decision making kicks in. Oh that explains so much about my early relationships! Grin of course you don't see it at the time!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 21/06/2013 12:22

Popping in to say shite night again.

My friend is coming round soon and then I'm off to work at 3pm for a girls leaving to have a baby tea. A work friend I go to baby sensory told me to come, she was invited, I wasn't. I feel silly going in and almost scared. They seem to dislike me, no card when James was born and they threw everyone else a baby shower but me. I feel like by going in it might help me fit in a little?

Bryzoan · 21/06/2013 12:50

Aww izzy that sounds hard. Much more likely to be thoughtlessness than dislike though I would think. Hope it goes well for you and you at least half enjoy it. I have also felt very much on the outside in my current job sometimes - but not in others. I think it can be a bit swings and roundabouts so try not to worry too much. It's the last thing you need with all the allergy problems and tiredness you have on your plate.

Yw - I too have a bad case of wanderlust. I am also highly amused to read I was a teenager till 25. I am going to take that excuse and cling to it till my knuckles go white Grin.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 21/06/2013 12:51

izzy no words of advice but am a little Sad on your behalf. Good idea to go in and I think breezy friendlyness is the way to play it. Good luck.

BPLP hope locum shift goes/is going well.

Bryzoan · 21/06/2013 12:54

Blimey kyz - those words are awesome!

Bryzoan · 21/06/2013 12:58

Yw what was the galapagos like? That is currently number 1 on my wishlist. I would so live to dive there particularly.

Brockle · 21/06/2013 13:15

Well 4.30 was first wake up but he only snoozed until 6am. he is fighting going to sleep which is crazy and when he does wake up he back shuffles to his toys and turns them on. sigh......

I have a dancing baby Grin its usually when ds1 and 2 are dancing about to music. he also gets v chattery when music is on.almost like singing Smile

he is a babbler too but my other two were chatter boxes. he can say ganda for grandad and has a bizaare sound for grandma. he has a go at saying Zak and has said what I thik is hiya. first words are generally sounds that babies use specifically for an object. it prob won't sound like the actual word.

DH is going to imax to watch superman. I am staying.g in with a pizza from Asda and putting all three kids to bed. he knows I want to see it but y is crap at going to bed and a bottle refuser so don't feel I can leave him at night. hasn't stopped him sodding off though for a night out.nob.Angry Angry

FatimaLovesBread · 21/06/2013 13:22

Everytime I think I'm catching up, life takes over and before I know it there's another 100 posts Smile

How is everyone today?
I've a few things I want to post and moan about: M's cknolete sleep regression, MILs inability to remember we aren't jar purée weaning, my fricking hayfever, the amount of time I seem to be spending doing housework or should that be trying to do housework. Also wanted to post about the death of someone we know.

But I don't want to only post about myself so I'm not doing a me post until I've read and replied to everyone else. Which ill try do this afternoon.

Before then I need to go get M from her cot where she's decided she's bored or playing and figure out something to do with the mangoes and kiwis in the fridge

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 21/06/2013 13:43

brockle fuck the asda pizza, order a dominoes for yourself and a movie from sky box office or whatever. Poor form from your DH there.

Sorry to hear of bad news fatima

sophia enjoy the reminiscing!

DH has so far really stepped up. He grew a backbone I got his DM to gang up on him with me and sorted out something that has been stressing me out. He's trying. I'm trying to control my desire for everything to be done the way I would do it. We will be fine.

horseylady · 21/06/2013 14:33

Sorry not read will catch up shortly!!

Been to a&e today as ds wounldnt move his arm and just kept screaming. He woke screaming at 330 and found it difficult to settle afterward. When we got up he sat quite happily but when she picked him up he screamed again. We then realised he wasn't using his arm :( dh going away so I dropped him at the station and decided to go to a&e where his elbow had dislocated (pulled elbow) but he's fine now. Back causing trouble!!

Bryzoan · 21/06/2013 14:40

Wow - good spot horsey! Very glad it is sorted.

Fatima - that all sounds sad - it is ok to share your woes without reading. Life is too shirt sometimes...

Brockle - I'm with madamg

Madamg - glad things are looking up.

And have fun Sophia! sounds great.

Bryzoan · 21/06/2013 14:41

Short. Life is not too shirt. That makes no sense.

TheDetective · 21/06/2013 15:28

Public service announcement!!

Morrisons has got Oatly for £1 a carton! Offer til 7th July. We've stocked up!

Typical that I'd finally found it in Tesco after searching all the big supermarkets. Now they have it in DPs store! They didn't have it the previous 2 times I checked! Tut!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 21/06/2013 17:14

det almond milk is really nice. I haven't tried oatly but like almond milk and have rice milk to try as well!

ChasingDaisy · 21/06/2013 18:45

Quiet here tonight.

horsey that must have been scary Shock Any idea how he did it?

pig I hope you're getting on ok at work Smile

Bryzoan · 21/06/2013 19:32

Was your day ok in the end chasing?

YellowWellies · 21/06/2013 19:54

Bryzoan the Galapagos were amazing. Snorkelling with Magellan penguins, sea lions and reef sharks. The iguanas and lonesome George were my favourite. Did a weeks live aboard on a dive boat - amazing stars at night, followed by frigate birds (and boobies!) during the day and swimming with iridescent plankton - so many good times. I booked the trip after leaving my ex - back packing round South America. Was the best decision in hindsight. It made me realise I'd become so obsessed about a pathetic unhealthy relationship when there was an amazing world out there.

ChasingDaisy · 21/06/2013 19:59

That's quite inspirational YW Smile

My day got better bry thanks Smile My period turned up after being awol for a while so I think that might account for part of it. Have been busy all day which helps. Had a good day weaning wise - O ate yoghurt and mango for breakfast plus two Organix rice cakes. Mango puree and 3/4 pear for lunch and pitta bread with chicken for dinner. Put him down at 6.50 and he woke in tears. Calpol dispensed and back to sleep. He smiled when he saw the Calpol bottle Smile Confused

My mum brought along one of my favourite childhood books, complete with my name written in pencil from years ago. It's a Jane Hissey book and I would love to get the whole collection for me O but I'm not sure if they're in print anymore.

PetiteRaleuse · 21/06/2013 20:00

Home sweet home after a loooong drive yesterday and today. Will catch up later or tomorrow xxxxx

Pikz · 21/06/2013 20:43

3hours 10 minutes to do 35 miles. Disaster.

Am exhausted

Sophiathesnowfairy · 21/06/2013 20:47

Gosh horsey how frightening, glad to hear he as bounced back. Xx

Passmethecrisps · 21/06/2013 20:48

Hallo lovely ladies.

Sounds like your day turned out ok in the end. Sounds like O might be getting the hang of weaning now! The book sounds lovely. It would be worth checking out book shops - many second hand places will keep an eye out or buy on commission if you are very keen.

Are you out there fatima? How are things?

I am not sure whether to try p with oatly.thanks for the tip though det.

What did you do izzy? I am sorry they make you feel bad. I can't imagine why they wouldn't like you. I do know what you mean though. I hope you went and I hope it was awesome.

No diagnosis as such YW. He's not that kind of doc! He said I obviously had some kind of thing which wasn't going away. He advised I try the antibiotics for a week then go back if no improvement. My personal feeling is a sinus infection which isn't shifting through lack of proper rest and a less than awesome diet. He did double check if I was BFing so I wonder if there was something he was wondering about? He checked my blood pressure as well. Textbook.

Your travelling tales are pretty inspirational YW. I have only been travelling with school - I am very lucky to have had those experiences though. Going on a flight as lead teacher on expedition to the cloud forests of Mexico at 22 was quite an experience - I has only been abroad twice before!

Passmethecrisps · 21/06/2013 20:51

Oh shit balls yes horsey! Poor wee E! How on earth does that happen? As proud owner of an enthusiastic mover I wonder if there is something I should be looking out for.

OMG pikz that sounds awful. Aaaargh!

Hope your journey home was bette PR.
