2 hours again [yawn]

Lily311 · 19/06/2013 01:42

Sleeping is for fuckers, right?

It's the battle of the wills here, she keeps turning on her back and can't sleep. I keep turning her back. I suspect she wants a feed but am not giving her.

PurplePidjin · 19/06/2013 02:12

Morning all. Detective (and any others) you are using oat milk for cereal. Can I ask why you are using this instead of formula. I can't tolerate cows milk so we always have oat milk in the house but we've been using formula for his weetabix. Didn't realise it was okay. That will save so much faff. Does it heat okay or are you giving it cold.

ChasingDaisy · 19/06/2013 07:50

Erm, O slept 7-12-4.30 and is still sleeping now...

The child can sleep!

ChasingDaisy · 19/06/2013 07:50

Hi-5 Pidj!

Passmethecrisps · 19/06/2013 07:53

Doesn't answer your question chick but I use P's formula for cereal and cooking. I do want to introduce oat or soy milk into her food so I can use it for all of us so cook things we all eat. I haven't done it yet because I want to introduce things slowly.

Happy holidays eliza.

Passmethecrisps · 19/06/2013 07:56

Hooray for sleepers!

In other news P's current favourite toy in a vtech soft radio (thanks for tuuuuuuuuning in!). She seems to have broken it - probably with all her dribbling - so that the volume is full blast. All. The. Time.

PurplePidjin · 19/06/2013 08:33

That was his only wake, vvvdp got him up when he went to the loo at 5:40 :o

Unfortunately he was in his door bouncer and tried to move the toybox by kicking it, causing howls of agony, so I've been awake since 6:15. Lesson learned, i hope Wink

We use dp uses ebm on cereal and cows milk in cooked stuff. Ebm for thinning, or natural yoghurt or coconut milk if I've got it. Probably not helpful, sorry

horseylady · 19/06/2013 08:41

gt there's varying levels of an alcoholic. Ones who drink daily. And ones who's drink till they can't stop. My colleague is the latter and often goes months without drinking, then starts again. He has a problem. A serious problem.

I took e back to the drs. Was told hell grow out of it. A couple of friends think I should try cpmi free formula. I'm reluctant. He does not have the symptoms your babies have. He's wheezy, vommy and has mild eczema but the wheezing I'm sure is due to the broncalitis and the vom will fade. I'm scared that if I try cmpi free and see no difference, then go back to normal and he's in pain I've screwed something up. I just really don't think it's a cmpi intolerance.

I've just read the back of the formula and again want to cry at all the additives :(

Evilwater · 19/06/2013 08:45

Morning fuckers,
The vomits continues! I call this karma, the cat was sick on his work Smile P still has his cold, and still feels unwell. Gotta love karma.

I think we will go to baby group, as N and I are clear.

Thechick · 19/06/2013 08:50

It's all very helpful purple and passme I thought I had to use the babies usual milk and as I can't be bothered to haven't got the time to express I thought formula was the next best thing. But if I can use oat milk that would be even better.

Evilwater · 19/06/2013 08:54

pass love your entrance!

PurplePidjin · 19/06/2013 09:00

Sometimes we just use cooled boiled water for weetabix, it's usually mixed with stewed pear or apple or mashed banana. 4 tbsp liquid mashes a weetabix nicely so it's minimal. Baby porridge says to use water on the packet iirc.

Passmethecrisps · 19/06/2013 09:43

That's right for many pp as it contains milk powder.

When can the babies have tap water? I thought it was 6 months.

Not had a very good start to the day. Despite a lie in. P took very little milk then cried throughout being given her cereal. She fought having her nappy changed and getting dressed so that took half a flipping hour. Then she cried when I put her down for a nap, couldn't self-settle then cried purple and choking while being rocked to sleep.

I haven't been well for over a month now. Nothing serious at all - just sniffles - but I feel utterly worn down. I never used to be poorly and if I did get a bug a day off work watching telly would sort me out. This endless cough is very wearing.

P keeps scratching at her ears. Mostly when tired but she does it all the time. No temperature, no redness but it does look like it might be irritating. Hmm.

horseylady · 19/06/2013 09:53

pass worth getting her checked for an ear infection?

Pikz · 19/06/2013 10:22

Well done Mini chasing and mini pj

We use formula on weetabix but cows milk in cooking.

Izzy on the but thing I have to be careful of the oil mostly and therefore careful it's not on things. If DP kisses me when he's been eating them makes me unwell.

GTbaby · 19/06/2013 10:42

Woop fucking do. The app is working.

Pass my lo had same symptoms its only when he got a cough and snotty nose we took him to dr. He has an ear infection and is on anti biotics unrelated to his cold.

I now have his fucking cold. Feel like mess. FH is being father of the year ATM. Not had to tell him anything. Even took left overs from pan last night and did all washing. I know it's guilt and part of the I'm trying harder act.

I'm going out for lunch then have sis n cousins over in evening. Just want to keep busy.

PurplePidjin · 19/06/2013 11:00

Pass teeth?

Homestart manager lady just left so that's bye bye to my outside support

Donnadoon · 19/06/2013 11:01

chick DD had cows milk with her weatabix for the first time yesterday and she loved it! I had been using formula too but after whisking cows milk with her scrambled egg for a while I thought she was ready for the change with no problems :)

TheDetective · 19/06/2013 11:47

Chick Oat milk (or cows milk) is fine in cooking from 6 months. I'd have done it sooner if I'd been able to get the stuff!

I have used formula before now, but it's a faff, so wanted something easier for making breakfasts etc.

Did it with weetabix this morning, popped it in the microwave to warm it, and it was fine. He took it really well. Smelled much better too!! Ignores fact red rash was round O's mouth after it... d'oh.

O managed til 1 when he woke and I sent DP in to pat him back to sleep. Then woke at 5, so I got up and did his feed. He seemed to be asleep when I put him back down, but woke up a few minutes later. Made DP go back and do the settling, and O slept til 8, and didn't come out his cot til 8.50!

I took Nytol again last night, but it still took me til midnight to fall asleep - and that was after going to bed at 10.30. FFS. That's why I had to get DP up to do the settling - I feel quite woozy and unsafe standing rocking or patting him. I'm okay sat up in bed feeding. But I'm worried I'll drop him if I'm rocking him. Least DP doesn't seem to mind. For now!

ChasingDaisy · 19/06/2013 12:02

Today is sponsored by Oscar the Non Napping Baby Hmm

PurplePidjin · 19/06/2013 12:27

Just a thought, cous cous is popular with PidjChick. I just add a couple of tsp to pureed veg to make instant easy lunch Wink Today he's having chicken, spinach, carrot and sweet potato with cous cous, then apple, raspberry and blueberry for pudding. Hope it fills him up!

Lily311 · 19/06/2013 12:35

Oscar is joined by Olivia who decided not to sleep despite being awake between 2 and 5 this morning.

Tap water is fine from 6 months although I still boil and cool it. O has porridge with cow's milk for breakfast, mainly bec we eat the same and I do the two together.

Yes for cous cous, I do hidden veg sauce with cous cous. We tried boiled egg with spinach yest, it went down very well.

TheDetective · 19/06/2013 12:47

Chasing The penance for having a child sleeping at night, no day sleep?!

Mine is all out of sync now as he woke up later than usual! He's napping now.

I've spent all morning dealing with shit luckily not baby shit. Still in my PJ's, all plans to go anywhere now gone. Bloody hate it when that happens. I'm just going to sulk instead.

Hmm
