Chasing have you put O in his own room then? Or are you kipping on the floor?

ChasingDaisy · 12/06/2013 19:16

He's in the cot in his room. Time will tell whether I sleep in my bed or his floor Confused But cot transfer was a success and he doesn't seem in the least bit unsettled. I have already told my dad that I will bring O in bed with me after the 4/5 am feed as that helps him to sleep until 7/8 rather than wanting to start the day at 5am Hmm

BigPigLittlePig · 12/06/2013 19:18

I suppose the change of scenery is as good a time to do the room move as ever. That's what I did with F, after our trip away. She's been in her own room 7 nights. 1 night I slept on the floor. 1 night she was in our bed. But 5 on her own so not too bad! Hope you had a nice tea cooked for you, and a cuppa?

ChasingDaisy · 12/06/2013 19:29

I have had a nice dinner made for me and the kettle has just boiled Smile

I just don't feel like me but I guess that's to be expected.

MissMummy1 · 12/06/2013 19:37

Just checking in.

Chasing I am so unbelievably happy you have made your escape. You sound amazingly settled there tonight and I really hope that continues. Lots and lots of love to you and your special wee boy xo

YW I am really sorry to read of your poorly auntie. I can't begin to imagine what you and your DSis are going through. I agree that having J there might be a nice distraction for her but don't understand enough of the science behind chemo and radiotherapy to know if it would do more harm than good. Just shout if you need anything at all. Thinking of you Thanks

Catbag I am very conscious of the fact that I am a younger mum (not helped by the fact that I look much younger than I actually am). I hate anyone commenting on my age - in any respect - and get very tetchy that people judge me based on the fact I am 21; and not that I have a degree, run a big house fairly well ish , have been in a 'stable' (hahaha..) relationship for 3 years and own my own business. I totally get you being paranoid about people judging you.

Things seem much clearer today. I am being deliberately vague on here but the situation I detailed on FB is in full swing and he is making a real effort. Time will tell, and I will be prepared this time. I am looking at it all from a very pragmatic viewpoint.

Also, I managed to rip the exhaust off my car today. Fuckity fuck sticks. Angry

MissMummy1 · 12/06/2013 19:42

Oh oh oh M self-settled tonight! I am giving it half an hour then heading into the kitchen to make a massive lasagne from scratch with my defrosted freezer load of farmshop mince! Can I take out a portion for M before I season it with a massive shot of port ?

I know chicken is the best way to introduce meat but M helped herself to some smoked haddock that I was eating yesterday. Should I wait a little longer before giving her something like Bolognese?

YellowWellies · 12/06/2013 20:02

MM just try her (tho make sure she's had tomato before as its quite allergenic and you don't want to confuse a bad reaction to tomato with a reaction to red meat). AK reckons wee ones struggle with strong tastes like beef but J luffs spag bol and he's not the world's best eater. Though tonight he troughed for Scotland - roast parsnip, boiled egg, leftover spag bol sauce, bread sticks, apple and banana hipp pot, steamed courgette, broccoli, green beans, carrots and strawberries and a nibble of freshly roasted chicken. He NEVER eats like that - he scoffed for 1.5 hours!

Thanks all for kind words on my Aunt (and Horsey thanks so much for your email - that's really helped me get my head around it) her treatment has yet to be decided (waiting on body scan and biopsy results) but will at the least involve major surgery. It's like history repeating itself as DSIL just got the all clear from bowel cancer last year... but she was a lot younger and had a much healthier lifestyle. My Aunt has a very indulgent diet and drinks a lot of fine wines so I know will find the lifestyle changes much harder. She's bloody single minded too - hopefully that will help her fight it Hmm

GTbaby · 12/06/2013 20:15

Aww my buba is poorly. Poor LO. He has been off his milk all day. His temp is 38.4. Which is mild right? But I've given him some calpol and he's about to go in his cot.

Hope he wakes up happier tomorrow.

ChasingDaisy · 12/06/2013 20:17

I'm up in my room now relaxing and watching telly. With the baby monitor glued to my ear. I hate not sleeping in the same room as my boy. I'll be sleeping with the monitor right next to my head.

MissMummy1 · 12/06/2013 20:27

Chasing you may find you both get a much sounder sleep tonight. Amazingly M really started sleeping well after I moved out of her room.

Lily311 · 12/06/2013 20:31

Same here. O went from waking twice during the night to sleeping 11-12 hours. She has been in her own room for 10 days.

BigPigLittlePig · 12/06/2013 20:32
Pikz · 12/06/2013 20:41

YW sending you and your family much love.

Chasing LO sleeps so much better in his own room and now consistently sleeps 11-12 hours a night when not teething!

For those with hot babies Aden and anais sleeping bags have saved us. They are muslin and work really well.

LO has taken to drinking 6oz of milk and going in his cot then having a massive meltdown and then drinking another 5oz and falling asleep in our arms.

As he laid there I enjoyed my cuddles wondering how long I will get these for and marvelling in him and his innocence and his milky smell. I love him so much and with all that has gone on on here recently I desperately want him to grow up to be a big friendly giant like his dad and so loving and kind. I hope he does and never hurts anyone like you and me on here have been hurt. I am in tears writing this with DP out and a glass of red. Tonight I fell in love with my boys a little more. I must appreciate them more.

I got my 3 days at work signed off too. This makes me happy.

ChasingDaisy · 12/06/2013 20:51

Oh pikz what a lovely post. I just peeked in at O sleeping and was thinking about just how much I love him. He literally is my everything now. I don't give a monkeys about me, I just want the best for him.

ValiumQueen · 12/06/2013 20:51

Chasing I still sleep with the monitor next to my ear and he has been in his own room since he was 12 weeks old.

YW (((hugs))) so sorry to hear about your aunt.

GT anything above 38 needs medicating really. My kids have had temps of 40 which are pretty fucking scary. Apparently it is the speed of the rise in temp, not the actual temp that can lead to febrile convulsions. Sounds like you are doing the right thing. Good you are getting checked out tomorrow.

Cat I love Dexter Grin

Thank you for your wise words about TH. Especially Luis giving the blokes viewpoint as it were. I told him. Talked a lot. Seems to have helped but was a bit uncomfortable at times. He has a history of trauma and as a result goes back to being a 10yo when challenged/confronted/criticised. He needs counselling to get past this, but is not ready yet.

J has not slept all day. After an awful evening the night before last I left off the ranitadine yesterday and today. He settled fine last night but woke at 11.45 for a feed then slept to 7. Fine. Today he got worse and worse. He has got reflux. Clear for everyone except my fucking doctor to see. Gave in and administered ranitadine at 5pm with pretty much instant relief. He grabbed the syringe and sucked it like a straw. I noticed today when he is refluxy he tries to get to my boob Sad soooo, I am going to the dr and getting fucking Omeprazole!!!! No wimping out this time. If I do not get Omeprazole for him I will be asking for a sick line for me.

DD1s 7th birthday Saturday and Fathers Day Sunday and I have done nothing Sad

Clarella · 12/06/2013 20:52

Sophiathesnowfairy · 12/06/2013 20:55

chasing big fat hug back be as noisy as you like you are amazeballs. Really you have done the right thing xx

Pikz · 12/06/2013 20:55

Vq well done you. DP has had lots of councilling to get over his criticised past. It still causes the odd issue but we both learnt methods from the counsellor to deal.

I too still sleep with the monitor. He went in own room at 8weeks!!

ValiumQueen · 12/06/2013 20:56

Ewan still in use here. Signals night time so used at bedtime and night feeds. For daytime naps we have soothing music from an app for kids drawing. I give the iPad to DD2 when I am trying to settle J and she plays this. After a while I noticed that he would drop off when he hears the music, so use it even when she is not there. If she plays it when it is not nap time, he rubs his little eyes Smile

Sophiathesnowfairy · 12/06/2013 20:57

pikz a lovely post treasure very minute.

Evilwater · 12/06/2013 20:57

Hello fuckers, a good day here.
N has eaten all his lunch and supper, Grin he's been such a good boy. At 8 he woke up screaming, have no idea why but I hope he has a good night.

Got naproxen from the drs, for my back/hip and I have been referred to the lower back place. The pain killers are great, I can't feel any pain at all!

Evil

ValiumQueen · 12/06/2013 20:57

Thank you Pikz.

Clarella · 12/06/2013 21:02

hugs valium. just to warn you omeprazole gave my lo terrible wind so a lower dose was needed and then he was a lot better. however I feel this is because his reflux was poor muscle control in his oesophagus plus my let down plus a crap feeder tt etc and as he's grown he's lots better. reflux due to over production of acid/ cmpi etc probably responds really well to omeprazole. my mum's on it and finds it's fab.

for some bizarre reason the gp who diagnosed tt, gave omezaprole and advised I cut down on dairy also then gave us colief to help with the omeprazole induced wind. used briefly and it seemed to help but then we started lowering dose.
