MsJupiterJones Of course you can! That's great!

Pikz · 12/06/2013 09:48

Morning my fucking lovelies

LO clearly been chatting to catbag twins. Whole weetabix, whole pear puréed and 9oz milk since awaking at 5.50 and an 1.5 hour nap!!

Brockle · 12/06/2013 09:48

coming out of hiding to give chasing a huge hug. I will be thinking of you and O today.

with the power of the quiche I went to the doctors about Y's reflux. came out with ranitidine but was made to feel like a neurotic crap mum. apparently he isn't losing weight so there is nothing wrong and I should stop "reading things on the internet". wouldn't need to if they did their fucking job right would i? after two days Y is eating better, sleeping better and awesome again.

I was told 0.4 ml three times a day. does that sound right?

I have learned to ignore hv's pass . a lot are lovely but some don't have a clue.

are you feeling better gt ?

TheDetective · 12/06/2013 10:20

Quick flying visit! Brockle 0.4ml is a lower dose, O started on 0.3ml at 6kg or so. He's 8kg now, but I've put him on to 2ml twice a day. If the improvement stops or tails off, go back and ask for a higher dosage. At 6 months the consultant advised us to go to twice a day for giving it - so now we do it morning and night, and this is much easier.

And your GP can fuck off! O isn't losing weight either, and a lot of reflux babies don't! It doesn't mean there is nothing wrong and it makes me all kinds of angry when those words are uttered. Angry In fact I come over quite irrational at the thought Grin.

Chasing You are awesome! Nuff said. Party, this gaff, 9pm? Yes? Grin

Why does O like to wake up at 3am when its my night feeds? Hmpf. I've had 2 lots of 90 minute sleeps last night. It just isn't normal to take 1-2 hours to fall asleep is it? And then at any wake ups it takes the same time to go back to sleep then. Fucksake.

Catbag · 12/06/2013 10:55

det unfortunately lack of exposure to other adults for the last seven months means that my spontaneous-sarcasm gland is a bit dried up. I did not say anything back, just probably looked a bit surprised

vq it probably was supposed to be a compliment, but its method of delivery kind of left me feeling like a trailer-park breeding machine :(

Having nothing intellectual to do for the last few days has meant that I have been casting about for something new to watch ont' tv. Game of Thrones has just finished and I am up to date with The Borgias, so I started watching Dexter since it comes so highly recommended. I love it! I'm already on episode two of the third season Blush I cannot believe that I had not watched it before now. The humour is sterling Grin

Took babies to be weighed for the first time in a goodly while this morning. R is 20lbs 8oz, and S is 18lb 4oz. R has jumped to the 91st centile, from the 50th, and S is on the 50th, up from the 25th. Guess all the grub is helping Blush

TheDetective · 12/06/2013 11:09

Next time you see her, casually drop in the fact that most 12 year olds don't have a law degree Grin. Bitch. Her, not you! Wink

Catbag · 12/06/2013 11:14
Grin
Lily311 · 12/06/2013 11:18

Moving day today chasing. Can't wait for the update, I'm so relieved you are getting out from there.

O is obsessed with finger food now, it's so funny to see how she tries to hold many things in her little hand. I luff her to bits.

Nothing else to report, she slept 11.5 hours.

GTbaby · 12/06/2013 11:45

Thanks for advise yesterday. Called clinic n have an appointment with nurse to check BP tomorrow. Going to take it easy today and rest. Feeling tiered.

Lo has been sleeping till later in am. But now his day time naps are all out of wack. He was exhausted by 5.30 n ready to sleep for the night! Woke at 7pm for feed expecting him to be awake awhile but fell asleep. He woke later at 12 ready to play. Hmm

I really don't want to wake him in am, but think ill have to.

Lily311 · 12/06/2013 12:02

Oh and whoever mentioned wwf here for the first time looking at you lois fuck you. I can't stop playing, grrr.

Clarella · 12/06/2013 12:10

also coming out of hiding to give chasing a hug and others in need too Thanks

brockle that's how I felt regarding reflux. are you bf? bf babies don't always loose weight as they comfort suckle a lot ( at night)

quiche poll: is six mo and 3 days too late to get a Ewan? does Ewan come with gin?

heinz rusks - I'm sort of doing blw but G loves spoons so sometimes mush / yoghurt on a spoon for him to do and then he sometimes let's me do it. but he loooooved a heinz rusk. ok lots of sugar but to see him developing the independence coordination etc with it was lovely. total no no?!

ChasingDaisy · 12/06/2013 12:14

O loves finger foods too Lily, I love watching him chasing food around his highchair tray.

He didn't eat breakfast this morning as XMIL was getting in his face while he was being fed so he got upset. Will try and give it for lunch. If I can't manage to give him any solids today will that be ok?

Clarella O loves rice cakes as snacks

Clarella · 12/06/2013 12:21

oh and - sleep still utterly rubbish but think it's me as ncss stuff says. so agreed to let dh do first settle of night which seems to be 2 hours after he goes down. then there's a fussy bit and he'll go another hour. he's offering a bit of formula ' just in case' but only 20 .ml being taken. if he's woken 3 hours after first put down/ feed I'm feeding him. does that sound ok? it's so I can get some sleep plus lo gets used to dh settling him. he spends most of the rest of the night going 1-2 hourly wiggling between bedside cot and my bed but not always needing a feed. actually spat nipple out last night! but has sometimes done a random 3 hours. I think I wake him a lot though.

yes I think we need operation own room to commence. I'm just not sure I can be arsed to get out of bed all night. hence thoughts of a Ewan.

Clarella · 12/06/2013 12:23

I'd say it's ok chasing given the circumstances? or just some rice cakes/ finger food. (I guess that's a no to the rusks!!!) he does suck on my rice cakes but maybe some baby ones might help. we are only just 6 mo so I feel doing well :)

Clarella · 12/06/2013 12:24

Shock lily how do you do 11.5 hours???? Envy

TheDetective · 12/06/2013 12:30

Ewan had a second wind here at 6 months. We hadn't used him since 3 months. Then brought him back out in the 6 month regression. He's still working his magic a month later!

Evilwater · 12/06/2013 12:41

Hello you lot!
N was lovely at baby group, and all the mums loved him. He's had a whole pouch of beef stew and some purred banana, and he's kept it all down Grin

chasing sending you all the goodwill in the world
cat if your coming down to my part of the country, wanna meet?
det hope things are going better.

For all the reflux babies Brew and Thanks
Evil

Clarella · 12/06/2013 12:56

hi ho hI ho it's off to amazon I go.....

I've missed stuff with you too I think det? hope ok?

Elizadoesdolittle · 12/06/2013 13:24

clarella we still use Ewan at 7 months. Not sure how much it works but I think the music (e likes the harp best) gives her the signal that its sleep time.

I give E rusks Blush I get the reduced sugar ones but I guess they are still bad. I never used to give them to DD1. E has half a one to suck on at breakfast whilst I shovel her brekkie into her gob on a spoon. It's more as a distraction tool but its working and I can't think of anything else better.

Brockle · 12/06/2013 13:58

thanks detective will start to give it twice a day as that would be loads easier.

yes I am bf clarella and oh yes to the multiple night feeds! I told the gp about the comfort feeding with bf reflux babies and that was when I was told not to read stuff on the internetAngry Confused Angry mind you another gp at that surgery told me Y couldn't have CMPI because he was breastfed. Shock he doesn't have cmpi but the ignorance was concerning.

Y is with grandma today before I start work in a week. she is a fantastic gran but I an nervous and just want him home!

BigPigLittlePig · 12/06/2013 13:59

Clarella I was dreading F going into her own room for the same reasons, but actually, she sleeps better if we ignore last night as the temptation of a snuggle with mummy just isn't there. I would encourage you to bite the bullet, if that's the only reason you are reluctant.

Cat I get that sort of nonsense all the time, although I only have the 1 sproglet rather than 6!

GT glad you have an appointment.

Chasing it will be fine if O doesn't have any food today - F frequently has days off. They get their calories from their milk. Good luck with the rest of today, I've got my orange juice at the ready!

F had her first taste of chicken today - chicken with pear & sweet potato. She seemed to like it, and took some off the spoon - I think the fact that she'd been up for 6 hours at that point made her a bit reluctant to eat.

ChasingDaisy · 12/06/2013 14:07

Chasing and Oscar have left the building.

Elizadoesdolittle · 12/06/2013 14:14

Woop woop go chasing. You're probably feeling a bit sad and emotional but just remember you are absolutely doing the right thing. Hugs x

LuisGarcia · 12/06/2013 14:18
