Jan 2013 Part 4: More noises, movements and more sleep?! Hmmmm

New thread!

I leave B during the night until he's making persistent noise - I don't usually wake up til then anyway! He's always wide awake; he's never done the dream feed thing. I tickle under his neck or blow gently on his face to keep him awake...

He's still in with us but will be going in his own room once his blackout blind arrives and we've given it a good Hoover. Probably in the next week or so.

B is still mostly in 0-3 clothes Shock. I've started putting him in 3-6 vests but his other things mostly look far too big on him still (he's 19weeks). Sainsburys stuff is bigger though, as is Asda.

Hubby has taken B out for a long walk so that I can get some of this marking done. Bailey seemed to think that 3 15min naps today was acceptable so he's been doing my head in and I've gotten absolutely nothing done. He's just point blank refused to sleep today.

Welcome new. As apples said you're in good company here. Have some Brew

Happy holidays angielka ! We're off to France tomorrow with my family. Not looking forward to the journey but it'll be lovely to have lots of people to play with Ellen.

So I just got back from seeing the lady and she was lovely, hooray! We went for a nice walk and chat in the sun Smile

Lora1982 · 05/07/2013 16:29

Hello new :)

Got my mums dog here while they go on hols. He's doing my nut already. My dog wont leave him alone so hers is growling at him constantly. Shut them in the kitchen so I have peace while dexters asleep wooo

Well the downside to this food business is that rather than every three/four days poo day has become just that, daily. I feel like I dont want to put his posh reuseables on now :-D

Angielka · 05/07/2013 21:30

Thanks glorious! Glad your neighbour was nice - hooray for meeting other mums. We're in Rouen, on our way to Brittany... good luck for the journey. Half of today's drive was fine, half was pretty shouty. Sitting in a hotel room with DH; Molly asleep in a cot and DD1 asleep on a sofabed, wondering who will wake who first.

Good luck with the dogs lora!

Lostbobbles · 05/07/2013 22:25

Pascha EnvyEnvyEnvyEnvy of your full night.

Welcome New, I haven't had one full night yet at nearly 6 months so can fully sympathise. Naps are crap also but tbh it's my fault as she had no set daytime routine as I'm always generally running about somewhere. She is great sleeping in the car but as soon as you take her out, she is awake within seconds Angry.

Sorry to rest of you also suffering shitty nights. Last night was ok, only one waking after 11pm and just popped a dummy in and she went straight back until 7ish.

Emotional day today, can't believe my big baby has finished reception, the year has just whizzed by. Year 1 seems so grown up Hmm.

I took DD1 with me to baby sensory as she only had to be in school for 2 hours, bless her she loved helping and did all the actions to the songs. Smile

Enjoy your hol Angie

Finally Meringue, sorry but lol Mil sounds classic, I would of died of embarrassment. Shock

Wish everyone good weekend

Lora1982 · 05/07/2013 22:43

Views on baby signing? Theres a free taster session near me so im going, but I watched a video of the woman doing it and she seems a little precious and stuck up. I think I will end up wanting to use my own signs at her by the end of the session. Shame cos id of liked to do it but not keen on spending time with people who will eventually make me want to cringe

AppleCrumples · 05/07/2013 22:56

Aww lost it does sound 'big' doesn't it! Dd1 has 2 more weeks in reception. She will have ds2 year 1 teacher next year which i'm pleased about. Its so fast though. Ds1 goes into year 5 in sept and keeps reminding that secondary is just round the corner Shock :(

angie enjoy your hols Envy

glorious glad it went well. Yay for you. I'd love to do that but would never have the confidence!

Ivy is so close to moving!! She sits by herself and would be fine but the second shes sitting shes trying (scarily sucessfully) to bottom shuffle. She can't sit still! Won't go on her tummy now unless she us flinging herseld off my lap to investigate whatever is next to me.

In other news she actually had a decent nap after lunch in travel cot and even woke up all smiley!

Lora1982 · 05/07/2013 23:27

Aww I love the smiley wake ups

glorious · 06/07/2013 05:45

apples I wouldn't have had the confidence until fairly recently either, I do understand as it doesn't come naturally to me Smile

angielka I'll wave at you when we're over the channel!

lora we're going to a baby signing taster too. I reckon you can't go wrong if it's free Grin . But I've also got some flashcards and we're using signs for milk, cuddle and daddy at the moment. Or rather I am!

Lora1982 · 06/07/2013 05:50

Ha 'or rather I am' :-D

Am awake NOT because of a baby but cos of the stupid dogs

Tugstonia · 06/07/2013 08:06

There must be a 'wonder' week happening here. She has reverted to newborn ways and waking up and feeding every fucking hour and a half! I am broken. Pass me the Brew. Or maybe I'll just go straight for the Wine. DD's 22 weeks but 24 by due date. Someone please tell me it'll end soon!!

Lostbobbles · 06/07/2013 09:00

BrewBrewBrewBrewBrewBrew Tugs Hmm 'sleep like a baby' my arse.....

BuntyCollocks · 06/07/2013 09:14

angie enjoy your hol!

pascha Envy of your night.

lost I did baby sign with DS. Waste of time and money. He signs now we watch mr tumble Blush

tugs pass the caffeine on when yore done. Dd 27 weeks, and I was every 2 hours last night. This is despite her eating well. I slept with her to get some sleep and was treated like an all night buffet.

I honestly don't know what to do at this point. DH slightly pressuring me to try goodnight milk formula, but I don't want her to have any, just my own feeling. I had to mix feed with DS, and I'm so happy she's not had any formula. :(

mrsbugsywugsy · 06/07/2013 10:10

well last night dd decided she doesn't sleep in her cot any more. Hmm

she spent the night in with us and I got quite a decent sleep as I barely woke to feed her but now I have backache from the awkward sleeping position

newtothenet · 06/07/2013 19:40

Thanks lost, if I listen to people in RL they'd have me believe I'm the only one whose baby doesn't sleep through. Even my DH's work colleagues keep asking and we're absolutely nowhere near sleeping through - 4 night feeds is a good night!

lora - we bought a baby signing book which shows you how to do the basics. I'm hoping that knowing how to sign pain and hungry etc will stop dd being frustrated when she gets old enough to sign but not old enough to speak. But then she's my pfb so I have no experience to base it on!

BuntyCollocks · 06/07/2013 21:11

Feel your pain, mrsb

Welcome, new. As you can tell, I have an incredible non sleeping baby as well. So much fun Hmm

Roasting here. Still 18 degrees. Kids are in shortie pjs and dd has a Muslin sleeping bag on. Fingers crossed for a better night for us all.

Louise85 · 06/07/2013 22:23

Hello all again - been out of things for a while getting house unpacked. Am going completely bonkers with Ds's routine - no two days are the same and he's gone from sleeping 7-7 to waking a few times and then in our bed from 2 or 3 am just so I can get some sleep. Shattered! Anyone tell me how to get him back into routine when no two days are the same?? I'm also going to take the plunge and take the dummy away for good this time - but he's suffering with hayfever...would I be cruel to do it?? I know you shouldn't sleep train when they are ill, but I'm losing the will to live here and dont think I can wait until the end of summer (poor thing is on an inhaler, and has excema all over - DH is suffering as well)....seriously pulling my hair out and dont know what to do :-(

On a brighter note - yay for the sun being out - am loving it and had a fantastic bbq tonight....yummy....love summer (now we actually getting one!)

Sorry all about me - have just spent ages googling about routines...and need to do dream feed and get to bed as well...will hopefully pop on again tomorrow to have a proper look through the thread :-)

happyhow · 06/07/2013 22:42

I did message that had said 'sent' but it seems to have disappeared...

B has taken to cluster feeding during the night. He didn't ever do that as a teeny weeny baby. In putting it down to him having been ill but I hope he doesn't do it for much longer.

On a positive note, he was an absolute star on the drive down to The Lakes yesterday. He slept a lot of the way and fed reasonably well when we had to stop.

Really chuffed as we've got an amazing apartment just outside Ambleside. My sis and her bf came up from Manchester to meet us so had a lovely afternoon shopping and then got a Thai takeaway. Was really chilled out and she absolutely loved her rainbow cake. Smile

I'd wondered about baby signing too...

Zulily have a Aden and Anais sale, the classic sleeping bags are fab for hot weather. www.zulily.co.uk/ just one layer of muslin

BuntyCollocks · 07/07/2013 08:01

lost dd was in one last night and we had the best night for weeks!

Pascha · 07/07/2013 08:26

MASSIVE poo at 2am Angry. Complete strip down and change job. Boy wide awake as a consequence. Took ages to get back to sleep.

Oh well, I have coffee in my hand, going swimming this morning.

I want one of those sleeping bags. A shop in my local town sells them for about £40 so I'm not getting one. He can have shortie pjs and like it.

Lora1982 · 07/07/2013 08:35

Grin well he doesnt know it exists pascha so what he doesn't know wont hurt him I say. Dextsr gets a massive muzzi as a blanket, you may think I'm just being stingy but he's actually in his element. LOVES the softy softy squares

Meringue33 · 07/07/2013 09:41

I got one of those in TK maxx, about £14 I think

Baby Sign is fun. The leader is really cringy!! But the babies love it, we just sing and sign along to loads of nursery rhymes then babies play with toys & the mums chat. The other women that go are all lovely.

26 degrees here :O

Lora1982 · 07/07/2013 11:27

Dp was rubbishing the baby sign idea last night and I got all defensive about it :-D

4 mins time and it'll be 6 months still I conquered labour Grin

Lora1982 · 07/07/2013 23:13

Clearly I meant since...

CreepyCrawly · 08/07/2013 10:40

Welcome back louise and welcome to new

lora it's scary how quick 6 months has gone by. This amount of time again and they'll be having their first birthdays! I find it terrifying, they're really not little for long.

Hope you're all enjoying this (horrible) weather.
