I am going slowly mad. I want to go to my bed and sleepy for more than an hour!!!!!

kirrinIsland · 17/05/2013 22:26

yes detective I'd wondered if it was the snugness. I've got dark cot sheets and a restraint thing (a wrap used with the reflux wedge but I don't use the wedge). I had wondered about bumpers or something to make it all seem smaller /closed in.
Workwise - I'm non clinical so I probably stand a chance of getting a hot coffee or two!?

kirrinIsland · 17/05/2013 22:29

Hope you all get some sleep tonight. Sleep deprivation is a bitch :(

PetiteRaleuse · 17/05/2013 22:29

Baby jail was the only thing I bought new before DD1 arrived. Not many people use them here, like reins. I've chucked the bouncer chair thingy. She hates it, and the cat loved it. And puked in it. I don't see it as a jail, just like a great place for her to play safely and undisturbed.

PetiteRaleuse · 17/05/2013 22:33

detective I hardly leave the house when DH isn't here. Everything has to be tidied so the dog can't get it. DD1 is a handful on her own so even worse with LO. We make it to the garden if it is sunny. Otherwise we stare at the four walls and cBeebies and daytime TV

TheDetective · 17/05/2013 22:33

Non clinical - you'll be fine .

Our managers walk around with hot brews while we are holding our fucking pelvic floors up to our throats and our stomach is eating other organs inside us.

Twats.

TheDetective · 17/05/2013 22:37

I was going out most week days up until 3 weeks ago. Just feel constantly tired or ill. And then O has shit days too. I don't know if I am coming or going. I don't know whether to be a martyr to his 'routine' or just say fuck it, we're going out and sod sleep.

Yesterday while we were out most of the day, he slept for less than 2 hours, and had shit sleep last night. Today he has slept for 5 hours over 3 naps. After being pretty much awake since 5.

And he's woke 3 times since bedtime. I was going to be an hour ago. But he woke. So now I just don't know what to do. I don't want to go to bed only to be woken straight away.

Own worst enemy.

DP is making me syn free pancakes. Pancakes. Mmmmmmm. Then I might try bed.

TheDetective · 17/05/2013 22:38

So I've come to the conclusion, it doesn't matter what I do. Fate deals the nights to me.

TheDetective · 17/05/2013 22:39

Considering stopping solids. But then he has to start them in a week. So feck only knows what is best to do.

GTbaby · 17/05/2013 22:42

Have skin read to catch up. My normal MN catch up times have become my "oh god I have a headache " times. Evening n morning. I'm not dehydrated. For once my wee is the good straw colour!
Also find I'm jaw clenching alot. Which Makes it worse. Maybe jaw clenching is causing headache?

Det. Totally the same here. Hardly been out since I came back from India! I've had food poisoning, cold and cough now this stupid SPD.

To tiered. Think I'm gona watch dexter in bed.

kirrinIsland · 17/05/2013 22:48

N is awake already :( this does not bode well. Last night in the pram shevwoke briefly at 12 and then for a feed at 3. Are there prams that are suitable for overnight sleeping?!

Kyzordz · 17/05/2013 22:49

I'll look for those ones thanks pikz

pr the casserole was e's biggest meal too :) I'm trying to see it positively that he wanted to feed himself and ignored the mess

may need a baby jail for when he is more mobile to keep him the dogs safe

glad to read others do finger food and puree I will try not to worry! I darent say we are making progress but it feels that way for now

det perhaps stop them for a week and see what happens to his sleep?

we don't go out much. I try for twice a week so its not a huge aim. going to try to go out more but I'm not sure how I'll manage because of all the feeding!

Dixiebell · 17/05/2013 22:50

We used to have the travel cot up as a baby jail option for ds1. Put a load of plastic balls in it and was like a ball pit to play in. But he never crawled so didn't use it all that much, think it might be more useful for Teddy to protect him from rampaging 2-year-old.

Just realised that I forgot to puree my carrots. I cooked a load but left them in the saucepan. DH is washing up while I feed Teddy. I bet he chucks them away! He has form for this. We had half a packet of tortillas leftover after making fajitas. He threw them away as he thought we woukdn't be having fajitas again soon. I told him I was planning to have them for my lunch for a week - wraps, quesadillas etc. why would you just throw away perfectly good food? Freeze it even!

Bryzoan · 17/05/2013 23:14

Gt if you are getting lots of headaches you should mention that to your midwife to be safe. Any swelling (besides the obvious?)

PetiteRaleuse · 17/05/2013 23:23

I think a mix of finger food and puree is the norm outside of MN. Here there seems to be a big BLW vs puree debate.. But chomping on stuff as well as glooping it down has always been a part of weaning I think??

I would worry about being treated in an emergency by a nurse or doctor on their 50th hour of the week. You're human too. 50 working hours in a week is too much.

kirrin if you live near an airport it is very easy entertainment. Lux airport is international but very small, so we had a good ten min between runway activity, but she found the plane car park thingy as entertaining. Te baggage carts and planes taxi-ing around. Loved it. Food was shite, but didn't realise that next to the cafe was a proper restaurant. Will go there next time.

Funnniest thing was looking around and watching the people watching us, hoping that the family with a baby and toddler weren't going to be on their flight :o

PetiteRaleuse · 17/05/2013 23:24

dixie travel cot would be just as good as a play jail :)

kirrinIsland · 17/05/2013 23:37

No airport near here, but Manchester isn't too far from Dad's so might try that next time I'm up there. I have often been stood in a boarding queue thinking "www, cute baby. Plead don't be sat next to me!!" Grin

My baby jail is a travel cot.

Still up from 22.30 wake up. She'll sleep on me but wakes as soon as I put her down. I am losing the will to live. Surely we should be over this shit by now? I have been desperately googling pushchairs suitable for overnight sleeping but no joy yet.

TheDetective · 17/05/2013 23:38

Gives up. 4th wake up Just as I shut the laptop down to come to bed.

TheDetective · 17/05/2013 23:40

Only the carry cot part in some prams is suitable. He is in the main seat and bloody loves it. Hmm

Is happy sat in it in the day now too and watches me do things. Think he likes the pushchair. Hmm

TheDetective · 18/05/2013 00:18

5th wake up. But I'm happy. DP woke up about 20 seconds after he cried! And has gone in to deal with. Just a shame I hadn't managed to actually get to sleep yet. D'oh.

TheDetective · 18/05/2013 00:19

No nudging kicking hitting or screaming- involved! Progress people!! Progress!

LuisGarcia · 18/05/2013 00:22

Yay for you both.

LuisGarcia · 18/05/2013 00:33

Message for MrTheDetective.

I know it's hard on everyone, and you haven't had a chance to give your side tonight. Just take O out for a walk in the park tomorrow morning for an hour or so. Or Sunday, that's good, too.

LuisGarcia · 18/05/2013 00:38

I mean at 6 am in your pj's, you big hair straightener, you

Bryzoan · 18/05/2013 01:11

Family for sale. G is on his 3rd wake up, R has been having the lonelies again, and dh has been having more night terrors. Between them they have effectively stopped me going to sleep yet. Yet most of the time 2 of the 3 have been asleep themselves. Wretches the lot of them.
